It is not possible to understand The Qur’an fully without Sunnah

Walk the Sunna and Talk the Sunna

When you love someone, you want to be like that person and do what he or she does.

When you love someone, you want to be like that person and do what he or she does; look like that beloved person; learn about that person; wear similar clothes to those clothes and do whatever that person says.

Sunnah literally means path. The Sunnah, in Islam, is the path which has been laid down by the character, manners, ritual habits, deeds, example and legislative actions of our beloved Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam

“He who turns away from my Sunnah is not from me.” al-Bukhari

“We have sent down unto thee (also) the Message; that thou mayest explain clearly to men what is sent for them (Halaal and haram), and that they may give thought.” (Nahl: 44)
“Nor does he say (aught) of (his own) Desire! It is no less than inspiration sent down to him.” (Najm: 3-4)

It is not possible to understand The Qur’an fully without Sunnah (the actions that the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam practiced). Our Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam was responsible for conveying the Qur’an as well as explaining it.

For instance, Salat is a command in the Qur’an but it is not explained in details when and in how many rakah’s to perform it. Zakat is commanded, however; among what is Zakat taken from and how much Zakat is paid is not explained. The details of the commands such as Salat and Zakat and many more were explained by

"Know that indeed, I have been given the Book and, with it, that which is similar to it (the Sunnah)”. Said:  The Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam.

How can we follow the Sunnah of our Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam? This is a question every Muslim must take seriously. The traditional reasoning goes like this: the Quran says to obey Allah SWT (GOD) and to obey the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam. Obeying Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) means obeying the Quran and obeying Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam means obeying his Sunnah. Therefore, before going any further, it is important to consider the position of the Quran and the position of Prophet’s Sunnah among Muslims. First, let us discuss the position of the Quran.

As Muslims! We are urged to follow the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam. Revive and apply it in our daily life. It is the proof for loving the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam – and a sign for the true belief.

The Sunnah is (Prophetic deeds, actions, habits, and way of life) the deeds for which you will be rewarded if you apply… The Sunnah is repeated day and night and is easy to be applied by every one of us inshaa Allah

The Sunnah of our Holy Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam sets a perfect example for anyone who wishes to draw close to Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD).

"Undoubtedly, you have the best in the following of the Messenger, for him who yearns for Allah"
Quran (Surah 33: Verse 21)

It is for this very reason that all legitimate paths towards Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD)), in Sufism, embody the Sunnah of our beloved Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam. Because by following the Sunnah one eventually becomes a loved friend of  Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD).

"Say, if you love Allah, follow me, Allah will love you"
Quran (Surah 3: Verse31)

The Qur'an is the word of Allah (swt). It came from Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) presence and will return to Him. It is the last and final Divine book, and the only book of truth that will remain valid until the Day of Judgment.

We agree ON this (yes or no)
Muslims, no matter where they are, have the same Quran. Sunni, Shi’ia, Maliki, Shaafa’i, Hanafi, Hanbal, all Muslims have the same Arabic text of the Quran. There is no difference of opinion among Muslims about the authenticity of the Quranic verses.
Unlike the Bible, the Quran does not have versions. There is only one version – that of Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) There may be many translations or interpretations but there is only one Arabic text. This fact is borne out by fourteen hundred years of history. Non-Muslims may not believe in the divine origin of the Quran, but they cannot deny the fact that there is only one text of the Quran. This is no less than a miracle.... (Subhan’Allah).

"O Prophet – behold, we have sent thee as a witness [to the truth], and as a herald of glad tidings and a Warner, and as one who summons [all human beings] to Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) by His leave, and as a light-giving beacon." (33: 45-46)

"Now [as for thee, O Muhammad,] we have not sent thee otherwise than to humankind at large, to be a herald of glad tidings and a Warner; but most people do not understand [this]." (34:28)

"Say, [O Muhammad]:”O humankind! Verily, I am a Messenger of God to all of you, [sent by Him] unto whom the dominion over the heavens and the earth belongs." (7:158)

"And [thus O Prophet,] we sent thee as [an evidence of our] grace towards all the worlds." (21: 107)
The above Quranic verses clearly establish that Islam does not discriminate against human beings on the basis of color, race, blood relationships, language, or nationalities. Islam is for everyone. This means that Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) wants us to build a society based on the Quranic principle of universal brotherhood

My Friends:  The loss of religion begins with abandonment of Sunnah. Just as a rope breaks fiber by fiber, so does faith vanish with abandoning the principles of Sunnah one by one?”

Ibn ‘Awn said: there are three things which I love for myself and my brothers: this Sunnah, that they should learn about it and ask about it; the Qur’an, that they should seek to understand it and ask about it; and that they should leave people alone unless it is for a good reason.” … (Bukhari,).
It is impossible to understand and practice Islam without Sunnah; in a similar way if Sunnah is abandoned a huge gap will appear and that will be replaced by bid’ah which is exactly opposite of Sunnah and principles of Islam.
May Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) have mercy on us, strive to follow every proven Sunnah that you learn from your Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam and do not neglect it, for it will benefit you on a Day when neither wealth nor sons will be of any avail. Adhere to the Sunnah and teach it to your children. Revive it in the midst of those who are unaware of it, so that you may be among the most blessed of people through the intercession of Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam

O Allah, help us to follow the Sunnah. Cause us to live in accordance to the Sunnah and to die adhering to the Sunnah. May Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) bless our Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam?

Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) our merciful lord says in the Quran that obedience to Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) is part of obedience to Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) and it is never possible for anyone in deep love for Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) to disobey the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam ….Sunnah also makes our life easy and makes our faith stronger

Ghufraanaka Rabbanaa WA ‘alaika masiyr
WA sallallaahu Ta’aala ‘alaa Sayidina WA Mawlana Muhammadin WA Alayhi WA Sahabihi wasallam

May Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) make our efforts sincere and keep us all on the straight path...........
