2-- Beware of lying. Whenever you think it will benefit you, it only harms you.

The ability to lie is a liability
We also forget that any apparent 'gain' that we get from all these forms of lying is not actually any gain at all.

Actually, any money that we earn or save is all haram because we didn't earn it lawfully. And it is one of the reasons why dua is rejected by Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala.
Material gain is one of the motives for which people commit it.

People who commit this will never succeed.
They may get “goods” (mataa’) in this life, but will only eventually return to Allah and be severely punished.
    What they did was kufr.

Fraud may involve:

Manipulation, falsification or alteration of records or documents.

    Misappropriation/ misapplication of assets.

Suppression or omission of the effects of transactions from records or documents.

    Recording of transaction without substances.

    Misapplication of accounting policies.

Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“It is only those who believe not in the Ayah (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of Allah, who fabricate falsehood, and it is they who are liars."

[Al-Nahl 16:105]

“Then Allah tells us that His Messenger (Sal Allaahu Alayhi wasallam) is not a fabricator or a liar, because only the most evil of people who do not believe in the signs of Allah, the kafirs and heretics who are known amongst the people for telling lies, tell lies about Allah and His Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The Messenger Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was the most truthful of people, the most righteous, the most perfect in knowledge, action, faith and certain belief. He was known amongst his people for his truthfulness; none of them doubted that, to such an extent that he was known amongst them as ‘al-Ameen (the trustworthy) Muhammad.’

So, when Heraclius, the ruler of Rome, asked Abu Sufyan about the characteristics of the Messenger of Allah (Sal Allaahu Alayhi wasallam), one of the things he asked was, ‘Did you ever accuse him of lying before he said what he said?’ He said, ‘No.’ Heraclius said: ‘If he refrained from telling lies about people he would not go and tell lies about Allah’
Landlord fraud: (for example where the Landlord has Housing Benefit for a tenant that they know to be living elsewhere).

Lying on benefit forms about circumstances is haram. (What is Benefit Fraud?

(Benefit fraud is where a Claimant, Landlord, Third party, or other person who has no right to claim it, falsely claims Housing Benefit, Council Tax Benefit and/or Social Security Benefits, which they know they are not entitled to receive.

Claiming benefit as a single person but actually living with a partner.

The main ways that people commit Benefit fraud are
By making a false statement(s) on their Benefit claim form or
By failing to promptly report a Change in their Circumstances.

By doing either or both of these, they may be committing a criminal offence under Social Security Legislation or other legislation such as the Fraud Act 2006. )

Lying on any forms about circumstances is haram (woman who claims to be a single parent while living with her husband)

He, who permits himself to tell a lie once, finds it much easier to do it a second and a third time till at length it becomes habitual.
The ability to lie is a liability
Lying and stealing are next door neighbors.

“The Messenger of Allah (Sal Allaahu Alayhi wasallam) said: ‘Truthfulness is righteousness, and righteousness leads to Paradise. A person will continue to tell the truth until he is written with Allah as one who tells the truth. Lying is evildoing, and evildoing leads to Hell. A person will keep on telling lies until he is written as a liar.’”

(Al-Bukhari, 5743 ;)

Whoever continues to speak the truth, it will become a feature of his, and whoever deliberately tells lies and persists in it, it will become a feature of his. This is the same as any other good or evil characteristic, if a person persists in it, it becomes a feature of his.
Allah, The Creator of mankind, told us in the 96th chapter of His Quran; "Lies, aggression and hostility come from the prefrontal lobe of the brain (behind the forehead)"; 1,400 years before Sigmund Freud existed.

This hadith indicates how serious the matter of telling the truth is, and that it may lead a person to Paradise, and it indicates how ugly lying is and how it may lead a person to Hell. This is in addition to the consequences in this world, for the one who tells the truth will have his words accepted by people, and his testimony will be accepted by judges and he will be liked for what he says, whereas for the liar the opposite will be the case.

Allah SWT: explained this to us about the source of lying inside the brain of humans, fourteen hundred years ago. Allah tells us how He will deal with the liars, the lying sinful liars, in Surah Al Alaq. (Chapter: 96).

"Allah will grab him by the (naseyah) [frontal lobe of the brain], the lying sinful (naseyah).

How could anyone have imagined 1,400 years ago, the frontal lobe of the brain was the source of lying, aggression and transgression? Yet, this is described in Quran as the exact location inside of the human mind for these horrible characteristics.

We can say, without doubt that, lying is one of the most evil characteristics, of which all religions and systems of ethics warn against and which man's innate common sense (Fitra) agrees that it is wrong. Any who possess normal chivalry and sound reason would be obliged to same the same.
The following sayings of our holy Prophet Muhammad (Sal Allaahu Alayhi wasallam) further clarify that lying is a grave sin.

Narrated By ‘Abdullah bin ‘Amr : The Prophet(Sal Allaahu Alayhi wasallam) said, “Whoever has the following four (characteristics) will be a pure hypocrite and whoever has one of the following four characteristics will have one characteristic of hypocrisy unless and until he gives it up.

1. Whenever he is entrusted, he betrays.
2. Whenever he speaks, he tells a lie.
3. Whenever he makes a covenant, he proves treacherous.
4. Whenever he quarrels, he behaves in a very imprudent, evil and insulting manner.”
(Sahih Bukhari)

Abdullah reported Allah’s Messenger (Sal Allaahu Alayhi wasallam) as saying: Truth leads one to Paradise and virtue leads one to Paradise and the person tells the truth until he is recorded as truthful, and lie leads to obscenity and obscenity leads to Hell, and the person tells a lie until he is recorded as a liar. (Muslim Book 032, Hadith Number 6307)

Abu Huraira reported Allah’s Messenger (Sal Allaahu Alayhi wasallam) as saying: Avoid suspicion, for suspicion is the gravest lie in talk and do not be inquisitive about one another and do not spy upon one another and do not feel envy with the other, and nurse no malice, and nurse no aversion and hostility against one another. And be fellow-brothers and servants of Allah. (Muslim)

Truthfulness is one of the pillars on which the moral survival of the world depends. It is the foundation of praiseworthy characteristics, the foundation of prophet hood, and the result of Taqwa. Were it not for truthfulness, the rulings of all divinely-revealed laws would collapse. Acquiring the characteristic of lying is akin to shedding one's humanity, because speaking is an exclusively human trait.

It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah that the Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alayhi wasallam) said: “The signs of the hypocrite are three: when he speaks, he lies; when he makes a promise, he breaks it; and when he is entrusted with something, he betrays that trust.”
(Al-Bukhari,)
“Truthfulness and lying are in combat in the heart until one of them expels the other.”

Lying is one of the weaknesses of the nafs and one of the wrong things to which it becomes attracted.

Luqman is reported to have said to his son:  “Yaa bunya Iyyaka wa al-kadhibi fa inna hu shahiyyun ka lahmi al-’usfoori ‘ammaa qaleelun yaqlaaho saahibuhu.”  “Dear son, beware of lying for it is surely attractive like the meat of a quail which its owner is just about to pluck off and eat.”

It is never beneficial, even if it appears to be so in the short run.

“Beware of lying.  Whenever you think it will benefit you, it only harms you.”

Remember the Hadith of the Prophet (Sallallaahu Alaihi wasallam):
"Then he mentioned a man who had been traveling for a long time and was disheveled and dusty; he stretches out his hands towards the heavens and says, 'O Lord, O Lord', but his food is haram, his drink is haram, his clothing is haram. He is nourished by haram, so how can his du'aa' be accepted?" (Muslim)
And the list goes on and on.......

Allah, the Creator of mankind, told us in the 96th chapter of His Quran; "Lies, aggression and hostility come from the prefrontal lobe of the brain (behind the forehead)"; 1,400 years before Sigmund Freud existed.

“Truthfulness guide to righteousness and righteousness guides to Paradise.  Verily, a man will be truthful until he is recorded with Allah as ever-believing.  And lying guides to moral corruption. And moral corruption guides to the fire.  Verily, a man will continue to lie until he is recorded with Allah as a complete liar.”  (Al-Bukhari).

There are many of us who, pray and fast, and are the first to criticize others. But our practical lives are full of all forms of lying, fraud and dishonesty. And we see examples of such lying left and right, day in and day out.

And lying doesn't just mean out rightly telling untruths to someone on their face. Lying includes all kinds of 'little white lies', deceit, deceptions and forgery.

Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alayhi wasallam) was known as “Siddiq” The Truthful even before he was made the Nabi. The sahabas (ra) used to say that they did not know what a lie was! Meaning they never lied. So it is possible to stop lying. All we need to do is make a conscious effort and learn the importance of telling the truth.

Why we should not lie:
At the start of Surah Al-Baqarah, Allah has informed us about three types of people and their characteristics:

Muttaqeen (Those who save themselves from sin, hell and Allah’s anger)

• They believe on Ghaib (unseen)
• They perform Salat (Iqamat-as-salat)
• They spend out of what Allah has provided them (charity, Zakat)
• They believe what Allah has revealed to Muhammad (Sallallaahu Alayhi wasallam) •
They believe what Allah revealed previously (previous books)
• They believe in the hereafter
(Quran 2:03-04)

Kafir:
• Those that totally reject Allah’s revelation
(Quran 2: 06)

Munafaqeen – Hypocrites

And of mankind there are some   who say “We believe in Allah and the Last Day” while infect they believe not. (2:8)

In their hearts is a disease and Allah has increased their disease. A painful torment is theirs because they used to tell lies. (2:10)

So from amongst the three types of people in the sight of Allah, there are some who claim to be Muslims (like we all claim to be Muslims) But,  in the sight of Allah their iman is not accepted! So we need to be very careful lest we belong to the third category of people.

The main characteristic of such people, according to Quran is “lying”
A painful torment is theirs because they used to tell lies. (2:10)

The following sayings of our holy Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu Alayhi wasallam) further clarify that lying is a grave sin.

Narrated By ‘Abdullah bin ‘Amr : The Prophet said, “Whoever has the following four (characteristics) will be a pure hypocrite and whoever has one of the following four characteristics will have one characteristic of hypocrisy unless and until he gives it up.

Abdullah reported Allah’s Messenger (Sallallaahu Alayhi wasallam) as saying: Truth leads one to Paradise and virtue leads one to Paradise and the person tells the truth until he is recorded as truthful, and a lie leads to obscenity and obscenity leads to Hell, and the person tells a lie until he is recorded as a liar. (Muslim)

Abu Huraira reported Allah’s Messenger
(Sallallaahu Alayhi wasallam)  as saying: Avoid suspicion, for suspicion is the gravest lie in talk and do not be inquisitive about one another and do not spy upon one another and do not feel envy with the other, and nurse no malice, and nurse no aversion and hostility against one another. And be fellow-brothers and servants of Allah. (Muslim)

So this everyday lying of ours is actually making us all falling into the category of hypocrites! Whether we like it or not… whether we accept it or not, our Islam is not valid. We will be in the deepest pit of hell because of our lying. Unless we decide to do something about it

It was narrated that Hakim ibn Huzam (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “The Messenger of Allah (Sallallaahu Alayhi wasallam) said: ‘the two parties involved in a transaction have the option [of canceling it] until they part. If they are honest and truthful, their transaction will be blessed for them and if they conceal something and tell lies, the blessing of their transaction will be wiped out.’”
(Narrated by al-Bukhari,)

‘O you who believe! Stand out firmly for Allah as just witnesses; and let not the enmity and hatred of others make you avoid justice. Be just: that is nearer to piety’
[Al-Maidah 5:8].”

Allah, of course, does not need us to follow Him, or believe in Him. As He states, "Allah can do without them and Allah is free of all needs." (64:6)

He merely wishes that people would choose to believe in Him so He can reward them for their choice. Allah is ready to forgive even those who acted wrongly if they but ask for His forgiveness.

In a Hadith, or saying of the Blessed Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu Alayhi wasallam) , we learn, "When Allah decreed the creation (of the universe,) He set down in His book which is with Him, ‘Indeed, My mercy is stronger than My wrath.’" (Bukhari).

What you want to do now is to start praying. We are not living in eternity. We have only this moment, sparkling like a star in our hand and melting like a snowflake. Let us use it my friend before it is too late.

Never be afraid to try, remember...
Amateurs built the ark.
Professionals built the Titanic.

There can be no happiness if the things we believe in are different from the things we do.

Be Impeccable With Your Word. Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid using the word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others. Use the power of your word in the direction of truth and love.

Be kind; everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.

Say to yourself:  I shall pass this way only once; any good, therefore, that I can do or any kindness that I can show to any of Allah SWT 's creatures , let me do it now. Let me not defer or neglect it for I shall not pass this way again.

Truth leads one to Paradise and virtue leads one to Paradise and the person tells the truth until he is recorded as truthful,  Blessed Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu Alayhi wasallam) .

May Allah make our efforts sincere and keep us all on the straight path...........

Feel free to Share the information here with everyone you know,
And earn Sawab-e-Jariya...May Allah swt make it a source of Sawab-e-Jariya for u and me .Ameen

P.S.: "Have fun praying don’t forget to make dua for me...
