Every child is created in the state of fitrah

“I am convinced about the veracity of my opinions, but I do consider it likely that they may turn out to be incorrect. Likewise,
I am convinced about the incorrectness of the views different from mine,
but I do concede the possibility that they may turn out to be correct.” — Imam Shafi

What is fitrah?

“Every child is created in the state of fitrah, it is the parents, culture, and society that make him a Christian, a Jew, or a fire-worshipper.”
only a God-centred religion is real and in harmony with man's nature. But this truth does not occur to him until the hour of crisis and peril
is upon him. A man may have any religion, or any material props he chooses, but, in moments of real crisis, it is to God that he calls out for help.
Such an experience, which we all go through at one time or another in our lives, is a clear indication that the God-centred religion is the
only true one. As such, it should pervade man's entire existence. Any religion other than this will fail him in his hour of need,
in the Hereafter, just as ordinary, everyday means of support so often do in moments of crisis in this world.

Man makes his own destiny: awaiting him the final judgement to be rewarded or punished.

In Islam’s view, God created two distinct species: namely, humankind and the jinn. The former was created from clay and the latter from fire.
The descent of Adam and Eve due to their eating from the forbidden tree as a consequence of Satan’s deception- a story already occurring
in the Judeo-Christian tradition- is related in the Qur’an. However, the Christian doctrine of original sin is not affirmed, as God accepted the
repentance of Adam and Eve and made mankind His vicegerents on earth. To quote from the Qur`an:

“When your Lord said to the angels, ‘I am setting on earth a vice-regent,’ they said, ‘Will you place therein one who will act corruptly in it and shed
blood, while we extol Your praise and sanctify You?” (2:30)

Thus, the angels protested to God against man’s creation, but lost in a competition of knowledge against Adam, who was taught the names of
all things. The Qur`an declares man to be the finest of all creatures and he willingly bore the trust which the heavens and the earth refused to bear.
All of creation was subjected to man, who by virtue of the rational faculty with which he was endowed, was enjoined to, and entrusted with,
the development of civilization. In such endeavor he may be, either righteous or corrupt, a monotheist or an unbeliever.
As the Qur`an affirms, there is no compulsion in faith and religion; in other words, faith belongs to the domain of individual freedom and choice.
Moreover, life and existence were not created in vain, but were brought into being so that God is obeyed and worshipped.
Thus, Islam is profoundly teleological while affirming theodicy in creation.

It must be noted that Islam views human nature as fallible and faltering- that man is oppressive and prone to ignorance- despite his lofty station
in the universe. By contrast to angels who are instinctively obedient to God, man is inclined to error. Pride is the cardinal sin of man- a sin which
detracts man from submission to a unique God, and which makes him ascribe partners to Him. In Islam, the most heinous of transgressions is
shirk or polytheism.

Knowledge, it must be mentioned, is essential for man shouldering the responsibility of vice-regency on earth.
To reiterate a point earlier made, the Qur`an emphasizes knowledge of the physical universe as a means to fulfilling the purpose of God in
creation, namely, worshipping and obeying the Creator. The following two quotations from the Qur`an are illustrative:

“Have they not seen that We lead the water to the parched land, so that We bring forth crops from which their cattle and themselves can eat?
Do they not perceive?” (32:27)

“It is He who has spread out the earth, and He placed in it mountains and rivers, and of every fruit He has made parts therein.
He covers the night with the day. Surely in that are signs for a people who ponder. And in the earth are tracts neighboring one another,
and gardens of grapes, and plantations, and palm-trees of one root and of different roots, watered by the same water.
And We distinguish in produce some of them above others. Surely in that are signs for a people who comprehend”. (13:3,4)
man comes into the world with a pure and wholesome nature. Whereas sin and corruption in human being are merely accidental
and violation of his original nature. The role of prophets and the scriptures is just to help human nature to flow in its true channel and to
guide human nature to its ultimate goal of eternal felicity. This Qur’anic theory of human nature also implies the fact that if man consciously
decides to submit himself to the will of Allah, he experiences no conflict in his personality. (10:62) while, on the other hand, if he misuses
his freedom of choice by denying God and not submitting to His will, would be in a state of inner conflict and his personality gets disintegrated.

Man has been given the freedom of choice to do good or evil. This freewill gives him independence of intention, choice and action in various situations of moral conflict. Man is the only creature in this universe who has been given choice and discretion which accompany him through his life span. (The Qur’an, 15:36)

Man has also been granted potentialities to acquire knowledge of how everything else in the universe functions as well as the knowledge required for his felicity. (al-Qur’an, 2:33). This knowledge along with the faculty of reason and intellect, are man’s primary guide that distinguishes him from other animals and help him recognize the path of his ultimate felicity.

According to the Qur'an, Allah "created man from a clot of blood" at the same time he created the jinn from fire. {1} Humans are the greatest of all creatures, created with free will for the purpose of obeying and serving God.

The Qur'an includes a version of the biblical story of the fall of Adam (Qur'an 7), but it does not conclude from it the doctrine of original sin as some Christian theologians have. In the Quranic version of the story, Adam and Eve begged Allah(God's) forgiveness (7:23) and he punished them with a mortal life on earth but added, "from it [earth] you will be taken out at last" (7:25). Since Allah forgave the sins of the first pair, Muslims believe, all are born in Al-Fitra, a natural state of submission to Allah. {2} True repentance from sin returns a person to this original sinless state.

According to Muslim theology, mankind's chief failing is pride and rebellion. In their pride, humans attempt to partner themselves with God and thereby damage the unity of God. Thus pride is Islam's cardinal sin. The cardinal virtue, then, is submission, or islam.

Thus Man is naturally equiped with the impulse of the mind distinguishing between right and wrong and good and evil. It is for man to decide to choose between the two.

Today Hearts Are Rusting Because Of the Intensity Of Sins

Fear prevents a person from sin, and today hearts are rusting because of the intensity of sins that we have committed.
This is not to say that people are not doing good deeds, because they are.
However, good deeds and sins are taking place side by side, which is counterproductive. A good deed is offering prayer in the masjid. However, when walking home our eyes are wandering and looking at forbidden things, and therefore we waste the good effects that being in the masjid had on our hearts.

Likewise, reading the Holy Quran is a good deed but then we also lie throughout the day. Many women pray Tahajjud (the night vigil) but also go out in public with their heads uncovered. Why are people engaged in both good and bad at the same time? This is because we don’t fear Allah as we should.

People will only refrain from committing all wrong when they understand the greatness and glory of Allah. Such people do exist in this world, and they know that if they commit any wrong, they will have to stand and answer very shortly. Hadrat Ibn Qayyim writes, “Do not ponder on whether the sin is big or small. Rather reflect upon the greatness of Whom you are disobeying.”

It is very ironic that parents become prepared to beat and even throw their child out of the house if the child does not obey after repeated requests. Allah is so Merciful and so Gracious that He has not once threatened to expel us from His fold despite our repeated and stubborn disobedience. Allah can also most certainly tell us to leave Him and search for another provider and sustainer. However, Allah is Merciful and Forgiving and therefore keeps giving us chances to reform.

Anas [ibn Malik] said:

One day when the Messenger of God, May God bless him and give him peace, was seated [amongst us], we saw him laugh and laugh until his teeth were showing. 'Umar asked: "What makes you laugh, O Messenger of God, you for whom I would give my own father and mother?" He replied:

Two men of my community were kneeling before the Lord of
Might, ever exalted is He, and one of them said: "O my Lord,
Retrieve for me what my brother has wrongfully taken from me!"

He said [to the accused]: "Give back to your brother what you have wrongfully taken from him."

But my Lord," he replied, "nothing of merit has been left to me."

"Then my Lord," said [the first], "let him carry some of my burden.

The eyes of the Messenger of Allah (God), May Allah (God) give him blessings and peace, filled with tears, and he said: "Indeed that is a fearful day, when people will need someone to carry part of their burden."
Then he continued:

And Allah (God), ever mighty and majestic is He, said to the plaintiff:
"Raise your head and look towards the Gardens of Paradise."

He raised his eyes and exclaimed: "My Lord, I see cities of silver and palaces of gold, crowned with pearls. To which prophet or martyr does it belong?"

Allah (God) replied: "It belongs to whoever pays Me the price."

He asked: "And who, my Lord, will own it?"

    Allah (God) replied: "You will."

He asked: "But how shall I do that, my Lord?

Allah (God) replied: "By pardoning your brother."

He said: "My Lord, I have already pardoned him!"

Allah (God), ever exalted is He, said: "Now take your brother by the hand, and lead him into Paradise."

Then the Messenger of God added:

"Fear Allah (God), and promote peace and reconciliation amongst yourselves,
For surely God shall establish peace among the faithful on the Day of Resurrection.".....Prophet (Peace be upon him).

Don't judge those who try and fail, judge those who fail to try
"Where the willingness is great, the difficulties cannot be great"
Allah is forgiving so my friend for us let this be a new day a new start with following the Sunna.
"This is the beginning of a new day. You have been given this day to use as you will.
You can waste it or use it for good. What you do today is important because you are exchanging a day of your life for it.
When tomorrow comes, this day will be gone forever; in its place is something that you have left behind...let it be something good."

And Remember
"Allah (God), ever exalted is He, said: "Now take your brother by the hand, and lead him into Paradise"

As Muslims we should aim for the highest level of being Muslims by having ihsan, which according to the Prophet (sallallaahu  ‘alayhi Wasallam)  is  “... to worship Allah as if you see Him, and if you cannot achieve this state of devotion then you must consider that He is looking at you.”  (Bukhari 1/47, 6/300 and Muslim1)  We should be Mu’hsinoon or Muttaqoon (God conscious or God-fearing Muslims). (Ah! I’ll Blog about this)
This means that we have to remember and fear Allah (Subhanahu WA Ta’aala) at all times...

"I know it seems hard sometimes, but remember one thing, through every dark night, there's a bright day after that. So no matter how hard it gets, keep your chest out, keep your head up and handle it."...
And remember when you chose not to decide you have already made a choice!

PRAYER: A PILLAR OF ISLAM

PRAYER: THE ASCENSION FOR A BELIEVER

After Allah's Messenger (pbuh) was commissioned for Prophet hood, the first thing he was commanded to do by Allah was to pray. The angel Jibra’il (Gabriel) came to him, and a spring of water gushed out from the rocks in front of them. Jibra’il then showed the Prophet (pbuh) how to do ablution. He then showed him how to offer prayers to Allah. The Messenger (pbuh) of Allah began to pray two Raka twice a day; once in the morning and once in the evening. He then went home and showed his wife Khadija R.A. what he had learned from angel Jibra’il. Since that time, the Prophet never went through a day without praying. Just before his migration (Hijra) to Al-Madinah, Allah's Messenger (pbuh) was taken by night to Jerusalem and then to the heavens (Miraj). During this journey, Allah almighty commanded him to pray five times a day. This prayer was a gift given to every believer to enable him to experience a spiritual ascension five times in every day. The Prophet (pbuh) explained that “The prayer is the Miraj of the believer." It gives every Muslim the opportunity to communicate with his Lord.
During each prayer, the worshipper recites Surah Al Fatiha.

This recitation is not a dull monologue by the believer, but Allah promises that it is a conversation between Him and the worshipper. The Messenger (pbuh) reported that Allah Almighty says:

"When My slave says (in his sprayer): 'All praise is for Allah, the Lord of the worlds', I say: 'My slave has praised Me.' when he says: ' the Merciful, the Compassionate, Master of the Day of Judgment', I say: 'My slave has praised and glorified Me'. When he says: ' You Alone we worship, and Your Aid we seek, ' I say: 'This is between my slave and me.' When he says: 'Show us the Straight Path, the path of those on whom you have bestowed Your Grace, neither of those who earned your anger nor of those who went astray.' I say: 'This is for my slave, and I give my slave what he wants." (Hadith Qudsi)

The numbers of prayers in a day have been set at five by Allah almighty. The believer has no choice in the matter but to obey. To reduce the number of prayers would not only be disobedience, it would also lose the benefits of prayer.

For example, a room is only good fro residence if it has four walls and a roof. If only one wall or the roof were to be removed, what use could it be? Similarly, the prayer will only achieve its purpose and be of use on the Day when nothing except one's deeds will be of use, if it is observed in the prescribed manner.
 Let Us Pray
PRAYER: A PILLAR OF ISLAM

Allah's Messenger (pbuh) once said:

"Prayer is the pillar of religion."
The Prophet (pbuh) also said:

"Islam is erected on five pillars: to testify that there is no God but Allah and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger; to establish prayer; to pay Zakat; to perform Hajj to the Sacred House, and to fast in the month of Ramadan." (Bukhari, Muslim)

This Hadith makes the image very clear. Islam is like a building, supported by five columns. Remove just one column, and the entire building weakens.

If strong winds batter the town, the building which will certainly collapse is the one with a pillar missing. In the same way, when a person stops praying, his Faith becomes weak and the mildest of blows can cause it to crumble.

The prayer is of such vital importance that the Prophet (pbuh) said: "Verily, between men and between polytheism and unbelief is the negligence of prayer." (Muslim)

How true is this statement! If you look at people walking down the road, it may be difficult to distinguish Muslims from non-Muslims. Islam is not marked upon a believer's forehead, and neither is Kufr stamped on an infidel's face. But at the time of prayer, you can separate the two groups with ease. The believer will abandon his work, his business to join the rows of Muslims in prayer, while the disbeliever will carry on with his worldly affairs.

Surah Al-Muddathir narrates an interesting dialogue which will take place on the Day of Judgment. The believers will ask the people of Hell-fire:

"What has caused you to enter Hell?" They will say: "We were not of those who used to offer their prayers. Nor we used to feed the poor; and we used to talk falsehoods (all that which Allah hated) with vain talkers, and we used to belie the Day of Recompense. Until there came to use (the death) that is certain." (72:42-47)

The rejecters of truth are silent in this world, but in the next world they will themselves speak the truth.

May Allah make our efforts sincere and keep us all on the straight path...........
