Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam

The clothes in which he breathed his last breath had many patches.
Speak the truth, keep your promises.
Perhaps the best way to understand the extent of Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam)’s truthfulness and trustworthiness is to look at the effect his teachings had on his Companions. Each Companion was an embodiment of trustworthiness. By virtue of this and other laudable virtues, cities and states submitted to Islam.

Noble life and teachings of the greatest man in human history who is also the most revered, the most honored, the most loved, the most remembered, the most influential, the most praiseworthy, the most successful, supreme trail-blazer of humanity.

Certainly, Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) and His Angels do send greetings upon the Prophet, O those who believe; you too, send sincere greetings and salutations upon him. Muhammad SAW

Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) s Messenger never thought of concealing even a word of the Qur’an. In fact, we read in the Qur’an several Divine mild admonitions for a few actions of his. If he wrote it, as some mistakenly claim, why would he have included such verses?

Even Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam)’s enemies did not accuse him of lying after he proclaimed his prophet hood.

Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) is a trustworthy person. The Makkan’s recognize him so. If he claims prophet hood, he must be telling the truth, for no one has ever heard him tell a lie.”

Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) always encouraged truthfulness, as can be seen in his words as recorded in the following traditions:

Promise me six things and I will promise you Paradise: Speak the truth, keep your promises, fulfill your trusts, remain (sexually) chaste, don’t look at what is unlawful, and avoid what is forbidden. (Ahmad)

Abandon what arouses your suspicions and follow what is certain. Truthfulness gives satisfaction; lying causes suspicion.
Seek truthfulness even if it might bring you to ruin. (Hindi 3:344)

Always be truthful, for truthfulness leads to righteousness, and righteousness leads to Paradise. If you are always truthful and seek truthfulness, Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) records you as such. Never lie, for lying leads to shamefulness and shamefulness leads to Hell. If you insist on lying and seek deceit, Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) records you as such. (Al Bukhari).

What sort of attitude did Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) (peace be upon him) have toward the life of this world? Did he like it, or did he feel disgusted by it? The answer is that he knew it well, and appreciated it in a healthy and sound way, but he was preoccupied with what is far greater and nobler. His full attention was focused on Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD)’s glory. Hence, prayer was his great love and fasting was the stage where his soul found its fulfillment. He looked up to what was with Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD), knowing that it was far superior to any position ambitious people aspire to attain.

Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) was known as a truthful and trustworthy person long before Islam. He was known throughout Makkah as “Al-Siddiq Al-Amin“: the Truthful, Trustworthy one, and a title he retained even by those who disbelieved in him after he declared his prophet hood.

Surely this is a reason why he was chosen by Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) to be a prophet, so that he would devote himself totally to delivering the message truthfully. He was so concerned about his duty that he would repeat the verses while Gabriel A.S. was reciting them to him. Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) finally revealed:

{Do not rush your tongue in an attempt to hasten [your memorization of] the Revelation: We shall make sure of its safe collection and recitation. When we have recited it, repeat the recitation and we shall make it clear.} (Al-Qiyamah 75:16–19)

As the Quran was given to him as a trust, he conveyed it to people in the best way possible. He dedicated his life to this sacred cause, constantly aware of his responsibility.

In the last year of his life, (Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) when he was delivering the Farewell Pilgrimage sermon at Mount Arafat, he reiterated the commandments of Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) once more. At the end of each sentence, he told the people: “In the near future, they will ask you about me.”

He then would ask them if he had conveyed the message to them, to which they responded, each time with great enthusiasm: “Yes, you have conveyed it!” He then would call upon Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) to witness their words

Perhaps the best way to understand the extent of Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) truthfulness and trustworthiness is to look at the effect his teachings had on his Companions. Each Companion was an embodiment of trustworthiness. By virtue of this and other laudable virtues, cities and states submitted to Islam.

During the caliphate of Umar ibn Al-Khattab Radiyallaahu Anhu, the Byzantine Emperor set out to recapture the Syrian city of Hums. The commander of the Muslim armies in Syria decided to evacuate the city, for his forces were vastly outnumbered.

He had the non-Muslim population assembled and announced: “We collected the protection tax from you because we had to defend you. Since we cannot defend you against the coming Byzantine assault, we are returning the tax we collected.” This was done. Pleased with the Muslim administration, Christian priests and Jewish rabbis flocked to the churches and synagogues to pray that Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) would cause the Muslim army to be successful.

Through his truthfulness, trustworthiness, and other laudable virtues, the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) left an indelible mark on people of all ages. His every word and deed proclaimed that he was sent to guide people to the truth, to bring them out of the darkness of ignorance and savagery, slavery and immorality, into the light of knowledge, high morality, love, compassion and true freedom.

He wanted his wives to accept this pattern of life. He explained to them that anyone who covets the riches and adornments of this world has no place with him: “Prophet! Say to your wives: If you desire the life of this world and its charms, I shall provide for you and release you in a becoming manner; but if you desire Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) and His Messenger and the life of the hereafter, know that Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) has readied great rewards for those of you who do good.” (33: 28-29) They, however, looked up to what he aspired. They worked hard to rise to the same level of keen worship and to strengthen their bonds with Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD).

Jawairiyah Radiyallaahu Anha., his wife, reports that one morning he left her rooms after having finished his dawn prayers. She was in her position of prayer. He came back in midmorning to find her in the same place. He said: “Have you been in the same place since I left?” She answered in the affirmative. She spent the whole time in prayer and glorification of Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD). He said: “After I left you I said four sentences three times. Had these been weighed against all that you said today, they would have proved to be weightier: Limitless is Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) in His glory and praise; as many times as His creatures; as often as He pleases; as weighty as His Throne; and as plentiful as the ink needed to write His words.”

Abu Hurayrah Radiyallaahu Anhu: Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam)as saying: “When I say, ‘Limitless is Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) in His glory; all praise belongs to Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD); there is no deity other than Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD); Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD)  is supreme’, I feel happier than if I would have everything under the sun.” His happiness as he repeated these words and contemplated their meanings was greater than being in possession of the entire world. Suppose he owns such a vast wealth of gold and silver: What would he do with it? He said that if he were to have as much as Mount Uhud in gold, he would have given it all away within three days, giving it to the poor. Should he be left with something after having given every poor person his needs, he would leave the balance for potential disasters, which are always happening in this world. On more than one occasion he owned sheep and cattle to fill a whole valley, and he gave it all away within the day. His love was directed elsewhere: it was a love of God and His book, the Qur’an. He loved to address Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) with passion, seeking His pleasure.

How did he feel toward the Qur’an, the book Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) revealed to Him containing His last message to mankind? Reflect on this appeal he used to say: “My Lord, I am your servant, son of two servants of yours, and subject to your control; my forelock is in your hand; your judgment of me is unquestioned; whatever you determine for me is just. I appeal to You by every name You have called Yourself, or mentioned in Your book, or taught to any servant of Yours, or withheld along with whatever knowledge You keep for Yourself, to make the great Qur’an my heart’s spring season, and the light of my eyesight. Make it the cure of my grief and the healer of my worries.”

How splendid! Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD)’s revelations were the very foundation of his message. Hence, it was his permanent companion. When he traveled, he crossed deserts reading it in his prayers, and when he stayed at home, his consciousness was weaved of Quranic meanings.

After the fall of Mecca, more than one million square miles of land lay at his feet. The Lord of Arabia repaired his own shoes, fixed his woolen garments, milked the goats, swept the hearth, and kindled the fire. The entire town of Madinah, where he lived, grew wealthy in the later days of his life. Everywhere gold and silver was in abundance and yet in those days of prosperity many weeks would pass without a fire being kindled in the hearth of his house, his food being water and dates or bread and vinegar. His family would go hungry many nights because they could not get anything to eat in the evening. He slept on rough bed, with a palm mat after a long busy day. He spent most of his nights in prayer, often bursting with tears before his Creator to grant him strength to continue his duties. As the reports go, his voice would get choked from weeping. The house that spread light to the whole world was in darkness because there was no oil in the lamp. He did not accept a salary from the state. He had to work to earn money, yet during his busy day the time to work was very little and his earning was very humble. On the day of his death, his only assets were a few coins, a part of which went to satisfy a debt and the rest were given to a needy person who came to his house for charity. He denied his family any inheritance from the Islamic State. The clothes in which he breathed his last breath had many patches.

Circumstances changed, but (Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) the Prophet of Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) did not. In victory or defeat, in power or hardship, in "prosperity" or poverty, he was the same man, disclosed the same character. He remained "Al-Ameen", the truthful, the honest, and the poor.

IT IS REALLY A MATTER OF PRIDE THAT OUR Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam)HAS EVER BEEN KNOWN TO BE A TRUSTWORTHY AND TRUTHFUL MAN EVEN AMONGST THOSE WHO DO NOT REPOSED THEIR FAITH IN HIM FROM HIS TIMES TILL DATE.
BUT THE MATTER OF SHAME IS THAT WE AS MUSLIMS AND THE FOLLOWERS OF HIS WORDS AND TEACHINGS ARE EITHER NOT HAVING THE VALUE OF THESE VALUES OR ARE LAGGING BEHIND IN UPHOLDING IT.
MAY ALLAH HELP US TO FOLLOW THE HOLY Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) IN OUR EVERY WALK OF LIFE IN LETTER AND SPIRITS, AAMEEN?

May Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) make our efforts sincere and keep us all on the straight path...........

Feel free to Share the information here with everyone you know,

And earn Sawab-e-Jariya...May Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) make it a source of Sawab-e-Jariya for u and me .Ameen

P.S.: "Have fun praying don’t forget to make dua for me.
