Never Underestimate the Power of Dua. When nothing helps only dua helps.

How is Ramadan Kareem going ‘Special Guests’ of Allah (Swt)?

We are in the Graceful Month of Ramadan, we are considered as the ‘Special Guests’ of Allah (Swt). What does it mean to be a special guest? What is the difference between an ‘ordinary’ invitation and a ‘special’ invitation? Why is the Holy Month of Ramadan described by the Holy Prophet (s) as ‘The Banquet of Allah’?
ALLAH, on this day make my fasts the fasts of those who fast (sincerely), and my standing up in prayer of those who stand up in prayer (obediently), awaken me in it from the sleep of the heedless, and forgive me my sins , O God of the worlds, and forgive me, O one who forgives the sinners.

The Holy Prophet of Islam (saw) has said, 'Desire is the root cause of all evil'. Hence you think 'Let me not desire for anything. I will accept whatever God gives me'. But ... hasn't Allah (SWT) said, 'Call on Me; I will answer your (Prayer)' doesn’t that mean that unless you ask, you won't get anything?
As the saying goes, unless the baby cries, the mother doesn't feed it. So should the baby cry or keep quiet? Probably the answer could be that the baby should cry when it feels hungry and keep quiet after it is given something, no matter whether it is milk or water or watery milk.

In the Quran, Allah says:  "When My servants ask about Me, I am indeed close to them.  I listen to the prayer of every supplicant, when he calls on me.  Let them also, with a will, listen to my call, and believe in me, so that they may walk in the right way" (Quran 2:186).

The word dua in Arabic means "calling" - the act of remembering Allah and calling upon Him.
Aside from the daily prayers, Muslims are encouraged to call upon Allah for forgiveness, guidance, and strength throughout the day.  Muslims can make these personal supplications or prayers (dua) in their own words, in any language, but there are also recommended examples from the Quran and Sunnah.

Supplication or Dua in Arabic is the greatest gift which God has bestowed on human beings. It is like a hotline, where the needy person is able to directly communicate with the Most Powerful Almighty God, who is ever willing to listen and help.

Dua (supplication) is one of the most excellent forms of worship, one of the deeds most beloved to Allah (SWT), one of the best gifts that a Muslim can give to another and one of the most formidable weapons in the armory of a believer.

Never underestimate the power of dua.
Why Dua is so powerful is provided in the Holy Quran? In the Holy Quran God tells Prophet Muhammad (SAW) "When My servants ask you (Prophet Muhammad) about Me, I am always near.
I answer their prayers when they pray to Me. The people shall respond to Me and believe in Me, in order to be guided." A sayings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad states that " Verily your Lord is ashamed (i.e. shy) of His servants when they raise their hands to Him in Supplication to return them empty." The Holy Prophet has also reported to have called Dua or supplication as the kernel of worship and as the weapon of a believer. "Dua is conversation with Allah, out Creator, our Lord and Master, the All Knowing, the All Powerful. This act in itself is of extraordinary significance. It is the most uplifting, liberating, empowering, and transforming conversation a person can ever have. We turn to Him because we know that He alone can lift our sufferings and solve our problems. We feel relieved after describing our difficulties to our Creator. We feel empowered after having communicated with the All Mighty. We sense His mercy all around us after talking to the Most Merciful."

Hadith Qudsi 34:
On the authority of Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah Peace and Blessings of Allah are upon him said:
Allah the Almighty said:
O son of Adam, so long as you call upon Me and ask of Me, I shall forgive you for what you have done, and I shall not mind. O son of Adam, were your sins to reach the clouds of the sky and were you then to ask forgiveness of Me, I would forgive you. O son of Adam, were you to come to Me with sins nearly as great as the earth and were you then to face Me, ascribing no partner to Me, I would bring you forgiveness nearly as great at it.
It was related by at-Tirmidhi (also by Ahmad ibn Hanbal).

Hadith Qudsi 35:

On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said that the Messenger of Allah Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him said:
Our Lord (glorified and exalted be He) descends each night to the earth's sky when there remains the final third of the night, and He says: Who is saying a prayer to me that I may answer it? Who is asking something of me that I may give it him? Who is asking forgiveness of me that I may forgive him?

It was related by al-Bukhari (also by Muslim, Malik, at-Tirmidhi and Abu Dawud).

In a version by Muslim the Hadith ends with the words:

And thus He continues till [the light of] dawn shines.

Dua (supplication) is the essence of worship. (Anas, may Allah be pleased with him related that the Prophet said this as reported in Tirmidhi).

The Prophet said: Duas of three persons are not refused: a fasting man when breaking the fast, a just ruler, and an oppressed person, Allah's blessings is upon him. Abu Huraira, (Tirmidhi).

No one makes a Dua without Allah giving him what he asks for, or keeping away from him a similar amount of evil, provided he does not ask for something sinful, or for breaking family ties (Jabber related this as the Prophet saying: Tirmidhi).

Allah also knows what's hidden in the deep recesses of our hearts. Those feelings of pain, anguish, resentment, love, hatred, bitterness, longing, etc. that we so successfully hide from everyone else, including our closest family members and friends.

Dua is conversation with Allah, out Creator, our Lord and Master, the All Knowing, the All Powerful. We sense His mercy all around us after talking to the Most Merciful. We get a new commitment to follow His path for that is the only path for success. We feel blessed with each such commitment
So why not let it all out. Why not let Allah be your "therapist". Let your prayer mat be your "couch" while you reveal and ask the One who is in control, Who knows you better than you know yourself, for all that you want in these next ten days and especially, nights, of Ramadan.
For a number of non-Arabic speaking Muslims, Duas are sometimes perceived as the good Arabic words Imams utter after prayers. They usually resort to simply repeating "Amen" after everyone else, without understanding what they are asking Allah for.

Other non-Arabic speaking Muslims may try to memorize some of the major Duas in Arabic and can and do understand what's being said.

But one thing that's often forgotten about Dua is that it's direct communication with Allah (Swt). And Allah swt is multilingual.

According to Tirmizi, the Holy Prophet Muhammad said that only Dua can change Allah (Swt) ´s decree and people’s fate. So we must always day and night pray to God for his blessings and help. Not only must we pray to Him when we are in troubles but we must also thank Him for what we have and seek his blessings to protect it. The Prophet Muhammad said: "Whosoever desires that Allah answers his Duas in unfavorable and difficult conditions, he should make plentiful dua in days of ease and comfort." Also he said: "The person who does not ask from Allah, Allah becomes angry with him." So whether you are enjoying the bounties of God or facing challenging situations seek God’s help and supplicate at all times.

Our Lord! Impose not on us that which we have not the strength to bear, grant us forgiveness and have mercy on us. You are our Protector. Help us against those who deny the truth. (2:286)]

The prophet (salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam)
"Allahumma innaka 'afuwon tuhibbu'l afwa fa'fu anni" (means, Allah you are all-forgiving, love to forgive, so forgive me) the prophet (salla Allahu alayhi wa salaam) told Aisha R.A. (his wife, May Allah be pleased with her) to say this in Ramadan.

Dua is the weapon of a believer.

It will protect you from the evils of enemies.

Dua is the shield of a believer.

It will increase your sustenance.

Dua is more forceful than a sword.
Dua replaces what has been destined
And also creates that what has not been destined.

Dua is a form of ibadah.
Dua removes both the present suffering and that which will come down later.
Dua and sufferings challenge each other until the Day of Judgment,
And Dua comes out victorious.

Ask Allah for what you need so that He will give it to you.
If you keep on knocking the door of Divine Mercy,
Sooner or later it will be opened for you.

Never get tired of Dua,
Allah has attached much value to it.
Allah says

“Let My servants know that I have the power to grant my servants’ wishes.”

A believer who makes Dua receives one of three things:

1. Either he will quickly have his Dua answered,
2. Or he will get in the Hereafter,
3. Or something bad will be prevented from him equal to the value of his Dua.

Everything has a proper discipline to it, and so does Dua.
Duas may not be answered when requirements of Dua have not been fulfilled.

Praise Allah Almighty.
Remember Him and thank Him for His blessings.
Send greetings to the Holy Prophet Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him.
Pray your Salat regularly.
Recite Qur’an regularly. Seek Tawba. Attain Taqwa.
That is the right way for Dua.

May Allah accept all the duas that people have made during Ramadan and afterwards, and may Allah (Swt) remove people's worries and miseries and shower peace over their hearts and minds. Amen

Dua is the essence of ibadah. A person engaged in dua affirms his belief in Towheed (monotheism) and shuns belief in all false gods. With each dua his belief in Allah grows. He beseeches Him, affirming his own powerlessness. A person seriously and sincerely engaged in dua understands exactly the relationship between himself and the Creator and affirms it through his actions. That is the essence of worship! Additionally, such a person can never become arrogant or proud, a logical result of true worship.

KEEP YOURSELF OCCUPIED WITH DUA BEFORE BREAKING YOUR FAST

The dua can change our life, our outlook, and our fate. It is the most potent weapon of a believer.
Never underestimate the power of dua. When nothing helps only dua helps.

"Have fun praying and getting ready for the Day of Judgment coz that day will NOT be fun :) P.S.: don’t forget to make dua for me.
