All praises be to Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD), the Lord of the Universe.
May the peace and blessings of Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) be upon
The Beloved Prophet Sallallaahu ‘alayhi WA Sallam, His last Messenger?
Why not become a Muslim?
All sins committed before coming to Islam are forgiven.
How does someone become a Muslim?
If anyone has a real desire to be a Muslim and has full conviction
And strong belief that Islam is the true religion of Allah Subhanahu WA
Ta’aala (GOD), then, all one needs to do is pronounce the “Shahadah”,
the testimony of faith, without further delay.
The “Shahadah” is the first and most important of the five pillars of Islam.
With the pronunciation of this testimony, or “Shahadah”, with sincere belief and conviction, one enters the fold of Islam.
Upon entering the fold of Islam purely for the Pleasure of Allah
Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD), all of one’s previous sins are forgiven,
And one starts a new life of piety and righteousness.
The Beloved Prophet Sallallaahu ‘alayhi WA Sallam said to a person who
had placed the condition upon the Prophet in accepting Islam that Allah
Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) would forgive his sins:
“Do you not know that accepting Islam destroys all sins which come before it?” (Saheeh Muslim)
Shahadah:
To convert to Islam and become a Muslim a person needs to pronounce the
below testimony with conviction and understanding its meaning:
I testify “La illah illaa Allah, Muhammad Rasool Allah.”
The translation of which is:
“I testify that there is no true god (deity) but God (Allah), and that Muhammad is a Messenger (Prophet) of God.”
When someone pronounces the testimony with conviction, then he/she has become a Muslim.
Simply by saying 'there is no god apart from God, and Muhammad is the
Messenger of God.' By this declaration the believer announces his or her
faith in all Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD)'s messengers, and the
scriptures they brought.
The first part of the testimony consists of the most important truth
that Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) revealed to mankind: That there is
nothing divine or worthy of being worshipped except for Almighty Allah
Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD).
Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) states in the Holy Quran:
“We did not send the Messenger before you without revealing to him:
‘none has the right to be worshipped except I, therefore worship Me.’”
(Quran 21:25)
Muslims believe in the One, Unique, Incomparable, and Merciful Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) -
the Sole Creator and Sustainer of the Universe; in the Angels created by
Him; in the Prophets through whom His revelations were brought to
humankind; in the Day of Judgment and in individual accountability for
actions; in God's complete authority over destiny, be it good or bad;
and in life after death. Muslims believe that God sent His messengers
and prophets to all people and God's final message to humanity, a
reconfirmation of the eternal message and a summing up of all that had
gone before, was revealed to the Last Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon
him) through the Archangel Gabriel.
This conveys that all forms of worship, whether it be praying, fasting, invoking, seeking refuge in,
And offering an animal as sacrifice must be directed to Allah Subhanahu
WA Ta’aala (GOD) and to Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) alone.
Directing any form of worship to other than Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) (whether it be an angel, a messenger,
The Beloved Prophet Sallallaahu ‘alayhi WA Sallam, Jesus A.S. Musa A.S, a
saint, an idol, the sun, the moon, a tree) is seen as a contradiction
to the fundamental message of Islam, and it is an unforgivable sin
unless it is repented from before one dies.
All forms of worship must be directed to Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) only.
Islam is not a new religion, but the same truth that Allah Subhanahu WA
Ta’aala (GOD) revealed through all His prophets to every people.
Muslims follow a religion of peace, mercy, and forgiveness,
And the majority has nothing to do with the extremely grave events that have come to be associated with their faith.
All the prophets sent by Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) brought the
same message, i.e. believing in the oneness of Subhanahu WA Ta’aala
(GOD) And the Beloved Prophet Sallallaahu ‘alayhi WA Sallam as his last
messenger.
We, Muslims, believe in the Bible as the word of Allah Subhanahu WA
Ta’aala (GOD) and that it’s not in its exact and right form.
We believe that Old Testament, Muslims call it Torah, was revealed to Prophet Moses (Musa) and New Testament,
Muslims call it Injil, was revealed to Prophet Jesus (Isa) peace be upon them.
Since they were changed by people Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) sent the last testament, that is,
The Holy Quran revealed to the Beloved Prophet Sallallaahu ‘alayhi WA
Sallam and it’s been 1400 years and not even a vowel of the Quran has
been changed.
It’s in its exact and perfect form.
Christianity is closer to Islam than any other religion.
We don’t believe in Jesus Christ (May peace be upon him) as Son of God but believe in him as a mighty messenger of Allah.
We believe in his miraculous birth. There is one chapter in the Quran
in the name of the mother of Jesus Christ (P.B.U.H) as “Chapter Mary”.
We believe that idolatry started at the time of Prophet Nuh (Noah)
(P.B.U.H) when people started making pictures, sketches, and statues of
righteous and religious people. Then they started putting flowers on
them and eventually started prostrating and worshipping them.
Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) sent prophets and messengers to guide
the humanity and bring them to the right path and this process ended,
which was started with the first human being Hazrat Adam (P.B.U.H), with
the last prophet of Islam the Beloved Prophet Sallallaahu ‘alayhi WA
Sallam since the Quran and the life of the Beloved Prophet Sallallaahu
‘alayhi WA Sallam are enough for the humanity till the last hour, i.e.,
the day of Judgment.
He (Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) has ordained for you the same
religion (Islam) which He ordained for Nuh (Noah) A.S and that which we
have inspired in you (O Mohammad S.A.W), and that which we ordained for
Ibrahim (Abraham) A.S.,
Musa (Moses) A.S. and 'Isa (Jesus) A.S., saying you should establish
religion (i.e. to do what it orders you to do practically),
And make no divisions in it (religion) (i.e. various sects in religion).
Intolerable for the Mushrikeen (idolaters, polytheists), is that to which you (O Muhammad S.A.W) call them.
Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) chooses for Himself whom He wills, and
guides unto Himself who turns to Him in repentance and in obedience.”
Surah: Ash-Shura (42) Ayah 13.
Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) has said in the Quran:
“And if you are in doubt about what we have revealed (the
Quran) to our worshiper (Muhammad S.A.W), then produce a chapter like
it,
And call your witnesses (supporters and helpers) besides Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) if you are truthful.
And if you do not do it, and you can never do it, then fear the Fire (Hell) whose fuel is men and stones.
It has been prepared for disbelievers. And give good news (O Muhammad S.A.W) to those who believe
And do good deeds that for them are gardens (Paradise) in which rivers flow…” (Quran 2:23-25)
Ever since the Quran was revealed, fourteen centuries ago,
No one has been able to produce a single chapter like the
chapters of the Quran in their beauty, Eloquence, splendor, wise
legislation, true information, true prophecy, and other perfect
attributes.
Also, note that the smallest chapter in the Quran (Chapter 108) is only ten words,
Yet no one has been able to meet his challenge, then or today.
Some of the disbelieving Arabs who were enemies of the Beloved
Prophet Sallallaahu ‘alayhi WA Sallam tried to meet his challenge to
prove that Beloved Prophet Sallallaahu ‘alayhi WA Sallam) was not a true
prophet, but they failed to do so.
This failure was despite the fact that the Quran was revealed in their
own language and dialect and that the Arabs at the time of Beloved
Prophet Sallallaahu ‘alayhi WA Sallam were a very eloquent people who
used to compose beautiful and excellent poetry, still read and
appreciated today.
Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) says:
"This day, I have perfected your religion for you, completed my favour upon you,
And have chosen for you Islam as your religion" [Quran 5:3)
Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) gave this favour to the whole of humanity.
Therefore any one can become a Muslim no matter what his/her race, language or colour is.
No matter whether they are single, married, divorced or a child.
All sins committed before coming to Islam are forgiven. No matter how bad they were.
They are forgiven. One who converts to Islam is totally reborn and starts with a clean record.
Superiority of a person who embraces Islam Sincerely:-
Narrated Abu Sa’id Al-Khudri (RA): Allah’s the Beloved Prophet Sallallaahu ‘alayhi WA Sallam) said;
“If a person embraces Islam sincerely, then Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) shall forgive all his past sins,
And after that starts the settlement of accounts, the reward of his good
deeds will be ten times to seven hundred times for each good deed
And evil deed will be recorded as it is unless Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) forgives it”
(Bukhari 1:40)
"And if all the trees on earth were pens and the Ocean (were ink), with seven Oceans behind it
To add to its (supply), yet would not the Words of Allah be exhausted (In the writing)?
For Allah Is Exalted in power, Full of Wisdom."
[Al-Qur’an 31:27]
Allah (Subhana Ta’aala) Ordains
You have your desire and I have my desire.
My desire shall reign. But if you surrender yourself into my desire I shall bestow you also your desire.
And if you oppose my desire then I shall tire you of fulfilling your
desire and ultimately what is to happen will be of my desire.
(Hadith e Qudsi)
The Beloved Prophet Sallallaahu ‘alayhi WA Sallam said: - Almighty Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) says:
“I am with my slaves when he thinks of me and I am with him when he mentions me.
For if he mentions me to himself, I have mentioned him to myself; and if he mentions
Me in a gathering, I have mentioned him in a superior gathering. If he approaches me
By a hand’s width, I approach him by an arm’s length, and if he approaches me by an arm’s length, I approaches
Him by a mile’s length, and if he comes to me walking, I hasten to him swiftly’
(Al Bukhari 8/171 - Muslim 4/2061)
The Beloved Prophet Sallallaahu ‘alayhi WA Sallam -The last and final Messenger of Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) Almighty
"We have not sent thee but as a universal (Messenger) to men, giving
them glad tidings and warning them (against sin), but most men
understand not."
(Al-Qur'an 34:28)
"It is He who hath sent His Messenger with Guidance and the Religion of
Truth (Islam), to proclaim it over all religion, Even though the Pagans
may detest (it)".
Al -Qur'an 61: 9
The Beloved Prophet Sallallaahu ‘alayhi WA Sallam is not the father of
any of your men, but he is the Messenger of Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala
(GOD) and the last and seal of the Prophets; and Allah has full
knowledge of all things.
(Al Qur'an 33:40)
'Allah burdens not a person beyond his scope. He gets reward for that (good), which he has earned,
And he is punished for that (evil), which he has earned." Our Lord! Punish us not if we forget or fall into error, our Lord!
Lay not on us a burden like that which you did lay on those before us,
our Lord! Put not us a burden greater than we have strength to bear.
Pardon us and grant us forgiveness. Have mercy on us. You are our
Protector and give us victory over the disbelieving
people'.
(Quran - 02:286).
" Glory to "Allah" Who did take His servant for a Journey by night from
the Sacred Mosque to the farthest Mosque, whose precincts We did bless,-
in order that We might show him some of Our Signs: for He is the One
Who hearth and seeth (all things)." Qur'an 17:1
Some claim that you are like any one of us,
But who can claim, to have visited the A’rsh?
We say bashr, but respect is also due.
For mankind are like rocks, but a pearl are you.
You traveled the seven Heavens, and your eyes did not lie.
For Jibril A.S, could not pass, but You, O Madani, glided by.
If we know that the Prophet Muhammad Rasulullah sallallaahu alaihi wasallam said:,
“By The One in Whose Hand the soul of Muhammad is, no one from the Jews or Christians hears about me,
Then dies while not believing in what I was sent with, but he will be of the people of Hell” (Muslim).

"He, who obeys the Messenger, obeys Allah." [Qur’an 4:80]
The
Companions of the Prophet Sallallahu.Alaihi.Wasallam used to take the ruling on
different matters in their lives from the Qur’an, which they use to learn from
the messenger of Allah Muhammad (Sallallahu.Alaihi.Wasallam). In many
instances, the ayah (verses) of the Qur’an treat a subject in a general manner
without a specific condition. Sometimes the ayah will come as an absolute
ruling without any precondition or limitation required by time, place, etc. As
an example of what came in a general way in the Qur’an is the Salah. The Qur’an
does not mention how many Rakah’s (units of prayer) we should make, or how to
physically move during prayer, or the time for prayer. Similarly, the Qur’an
does not mention the minimum amount of money to have before giving Zakat
(charity) or the conditions by which to pay it. Many of our `Ibadah cannot be
performed without stopping at the explanations related to the regulations,
pillars, and conditions of nullification. It is thus a must to return to Rasulullah
(Sallallahu.Alaihi.Wasallam to know the rules in a comprehensive and clear
manner.
Many
times, the Companions faced incidents in which the Qur’an which had no ruling,
and there was a need to return to the Prophet Sallallahu.Alaihi.Wasallam to
know the ruling of such matters. It was the Prophet who was ordered by Allah (subhanahu
wata`aalaa) to teach humanity, and it is the Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu.Alaihi.Wasallam
who is the most knowledgeable of mankind about that which Allah subhanahu wata`aalaa
expects from us.
Allah
(Subhanahu wata`aalaa) has told us about the duty of Rasulullah (Sallallahu.Alaihi.Wasallam)
with respect to the Qur’an, where Allah (subhanahu wata`aalaa) said:
"And
We have sent down unto thee (also) the Message; that thou mayest explain
clearly to men what is sent for them, and that they may give thought." [Qur’an
16:44]
Allah
also made it clear to us that the duty of Rasulullah (Sallallahu.Alaihi.Wasallam)
is to clarify the truth to people when there is a dispute:
"And
We sent down the Book to thee for the express purpose, that thou should make
clear to them those things in which they differ, and that it should be a guide
and a mercy to those who believe." [Qur’an 16:64]
We
are obligated to follow any ruling by Rasulullah Muhammad (Sallallahu.Alaihi.Wasallam)
in any dispute:
"But
no, by the Lord, they can have no (real) Faith, until they make thee judge in
all disputes between them, and find in their souls no resistance against Thy
decisions, but accept them with the fullest conviction." [Qur’an 4:65]
Allah
also mentioned that Rasulullah (Sallallahu.Alaihi.Wasallam) was given the Qur’an
and Wisdom to teach people the regulations of their religion:
"Allah
did confer a great favour on the believers when He sent among them an apostle
from among themselves, rehearsing unto them the Signs of Allah, sanctifying
them, and instructing them in Scripture and Wisdom, while, before that, they
had been in manifest error." [Qur’an 3:164]
Regarding
the last ayah, most scholars and those of great knowledge said that the wisdom
mentioned in the ayah means another thing besides the Qur’an. It is what Allah subhanahu
wata`aalaa has given Rasulullah (Sallallahu.Alaihi.Wasallam) from the knowledge
of matters and regulations that the rest of humanity can not attain. Imam
Ash-Shafi Rahmatullahi has said that "Allah subhanahu wata`aalaa has
mentioned the scripture which is the Qur’an, and he mentioned wisdom and I have
learned from the people of knowledge that the wisdom here is the Sunnah of Rasulullah
(Sallallahu.Alaihi.Wasallam). It is from the mercy of Allah (subhanahu wata`aalaa)
that He has sent to us a way to practice what is in the Qur’an."
Allah
(subhanahu wata`aalaa) did not stop by saying scripture only, but the inclusion
of the Sunnah with the Qur’an is an indication of its important and the
obligation on us to follow it as we have to follow the Qur’an. Imam Ash-Shafi
goes on saying that the letter 'wa' ('and' between Scripture and Wisdom in the ayah)
is a letter of conjunctions in Arabic which requires that the two parts it
joins must be different otherwise the sentence will be redundant, and Allah (subhanahu
wata`aalaa) is far away from that; Na`oodhubillaah. And so when Allah (subhanahu
wata`aalaa) said that he has conferred a great favor on the believers; He does
not confer anything that is not correct and truthful. Therefore, this wisdom
must be followed as the Qur'an, and Allah (subhanahu wata`aalaa) has never
ordered us to follow anything but Him and His messenger Muhammad (Sallallahu.Alaihi.Wasallam).
Which must mean that this wisdom is what came from Rasulullah (Sallallahu.Alaihi.Wasallam)
in the form of rules and sayings regarding legislation.
To
clarify the Concept of Sunnah and our obligation to follow it, Allah (subhanahu
wata`aalaa) said: "Those who follow the apostle, the unlettered Prophet,
whom they find mentioned in their own (scriptures),- in the law and the
Gospel;- for he commands them what is just and forbids them what is evil; he
allows them as lawful what is good (and pure) and prohibits them from what is
bad (and impure); He releases them from their heavy burdens and from the yokes
that are upon them. So it is those who believe in him, honour him, help him,
and follow the light which is sent down with him, - it is they who will
prosper." [Qur’an 7:157]
Because
this teaching is mentioned in general in this ayah, then it must include the
rules in the Qur’an and Sunnah.
A
very strong indicator of the obligation upon us to follow the Sunnah can be
found in this ayah: "...And whatsoever the Messenger Muhammad Sallallahu.Alaihi.Wasallam
gives you, take it, and whatsoever he forbids you, abstain (from it), and fear
Allah. Verily, Allah is severe in punishment." [Qur’an 59:7]
Allah
has also made the obedience of Rasulullah Sallallahu.Alaihi.Wasallam in
conjunction with the obedience to Him:
"And
obey Allah and the Messenger, that ye may obtain mercy." [Qur’an 3:132]
We
are asked by Allah (subhanahu wata`aalaa) to answer any order by Rasulullah
Sallallahu.Alaihi.Wasallam:
"O
ye who believe! Give your response to Allah and His Messenger, when He calleth
you to that which will give you life." [Qur’an 8:24]
Allah
made the obedience of Rasulullah Sallallahu.Alaihi.Wasallam obedience to Him,
and following Rasulullah Sallallahu.Alaihi.Wasallam an indication of the love
of Allah subhanahu wata`aalaa:
"He,
who obeys the Messenger, obeys Allah." [Qur’an 4:80]
"Say:
If ye do love Allah, Follow me: Allah will love you and forgive you
sins." [Qur’an 3:31]
And
Allah subhanahu wata`aalaa warned us from not following the instructions of Rasulullah
Sallallahu.Alaihi.Wasallam:
"Then
let those beware who withstand the Messenger’s order, lest some trial befall
them, or a grievous penalty be inflicted on them." [Qur’an 24:63]
Not
only that, but Allah (subhanahu wata`aalaa) told us that disobeying Rasulullah Sallallahu.Alaihi.Wasallam
is Kufr (disbelief): "Say: Obey Allah and His Messenger.: But if they turn
back, Allah loveth not those who reject Faith." [Qur’an 3:32]
It
was never allowed by Allah (subhanahu wata`aalaa) that a believer disobeys Rasulullah
(sallallaahu Alaihi wasallam) order:
"It
is not fitting for a Believer, man or woman, when a matter has been decided by
Allah and His Messenger to have any option about their decision: if any one
disobeys Allah and His Messenger, he is indeed on a clearly wrong Path." [Qur’an
33:36]
To
show that not following the ruling of Rasulullah Sallallahu.Alaihi.Wasallam
when a dispute occurs is a sign of hypocrisy, Allah (Subhana hu wata`aalaa)
says:
"They
say, we believe in Allah and in the apostle, and we obey; but even after that,
some of them turn away; they are not (really) Believers. When they are summoned
to Allah and His apostle, in order that He may judge between them, behold some
of them decline (to come)....The answer of the Believers, when summoned to
Allah and His Messenger, in order that He may judge between them, is no other
than this: they say, "We hear and we obey"; it is such as these that
will attain felicity." [Qur’an 24:47-51]
If
a trustworthy person told one of us something about a matter which concerns
him, he would believe him
And
start basing his actions on this piece of information.
The more trustworthy this person is, the more
we would believe him and not doubt the information that he provides.
O Muslims! If we know this, then what should
be our position towards the words of our Muhammad Rasulullah sallallaahu alaihi
wasallam?
The
truthful and trustworthy: Whose people never experienced a lie from him even
before receiving the Message?
How
can we doubt the one whom Allah described in His saying which means,
“By the star when it descends, your companion
(i.e. Muhammad) has not strayed, nor has he erred,
Nor
does he speak from (his own) inclination. It is but a revelation revealed.”
(An-Najm: 1-4).
If we know that the Prophet Muhammad Rasulullah
sallallaahu alaihi wasallam said:,
“By The One in Whose Hand the soul of
Muhammad is, no one from the Jews or Christians hears about me,
Then dies while not believing in what I was
sent with, but he will be of the people of Hell” (Muslim).

Until The Heart is Conquered by One -Nafs
It's not called Jihad
al-nafs for nothing my friend.
Why Should We Pray – To whom do we
pray?
Before we can answer, “why should we
pray,” we must know to whom we pray.
There is only one supreme Creator and
sovereign Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD).
He is the Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala
(GOD) of amazing love, mercy, and forgiveness.
Allah has also made the obedience of Rasulullah
Sallallahu.Alaihi.Wasallam in conjunction with the obedience to Him:
"And obey Allah and the Messenger,
that ye may obtain mercy." [Qur’an 3:132]
We are asked by Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala
to answer any order by Rasulullah (Sallallahu.Alaihi.Wasallam):
"O ye who believe! Give your
response to Allah and His Messenger, when He calleth you to that which will
give you life." [Qur’an 8:24]
Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala says in the
Holy Qur’an, “Say, (O Muhammad) If you truly love Allah then follow me! Allah
will then love you and forgive your sins, and Allah is All Forgiving and Most
Merciful.”
(Qur’an, 3:31)
Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’aala says in the
Holy Qur’an, (O Muhammad): “Say to them, If it be your fathers, your sons, your
brothers, your spouses, your family, the wealth you hoard, the commerce in
which you fear a decline, or the houses in which you delight are dearer to you
than Allah or His Messenger and striving in the path of Allah then wait until
Allah brings about His decision and Allah guides not the rebellious.”
(Qur’an, 9:24)
Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala says in the
Holy Qur’an, “The Prophet has a higher claim on the believers than their own
selves…
(Qur’an, 33:6)
Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala states in
the Noble Qur’an. “He who obeys the Messenger has indeed obeyed Allah…”
(Qur’an, 4:80)
Nafs: It has two meanings. First, it
means the powers of anger and sexual appetite in a human being...
And this is the usage mostly found
among the people of Tasawwuf,
Who take "nafs" as the comprehensive word for all the evil
attributes of a person?
That is why they say: one must certainly do battle with the ego and
break it
(La Buda min mujahada al-nafs WA kasriha), as
is referred to in the hadith:
A`da `aduwwuka nafsuka al-lati bayna janibayk
(Your worst enemy is your nafs which lies between your flanks).
The second meaning of nafs is the soul,
the human being in reality, his self and his person.
However, it is described differently
according to its different states.
If it assumes calmness under command
and has removed from itself the disturbance caused by the onslaught of passion,
It
is called "the satisfied soul" (al-nafs al-mutma'inna)...
In its first meaning the nafs does not
envisage its return to Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) because it has kept
itself far from Him: such a nafs is from the party of Shaitan.
However, when it does not achieve
calmness, yet sets itself against the love of passions and objects to it, it is
called
"The self-accusing soul" (al-nafs
al-lawwaama), because it rebukes its owner for his neglect in the worship of
his master...
If it gives up all protest and surrenders itself in total obedience to
the call of passions and Shaitan,
It is named "the soul that enjoins evil" (al-nafs al-Amara bi
al-su')... Which could be taken: to refer to the ego in its first meaning.
Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) has
armed soldiers which He has placed in the hearts and the souls and others of
His worlds,
And none knows their true nature and
actual number except Him...
[He proceeds to explain that the limbs of the
body, the five senses, will, instinct, and the emotive
And intellective powers are among those
soldiers.]
Know that the two soldiers of anger and sexual passion can be guided by
the heart completely...
Or on the other hand disobey and rebel against it completely, until they
enslave it.
Therein lies the death of the heart and the termination of its journey
towards eternal happiness.
The heart has other soldiers: knowledge (`ilm), wisdom (hikma) and
reflection (tafakkur) whose help it seeks by right, for they are the Party of Allah
Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) against the other two who belong to the party of Shaitan...
Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) says:
"Have you seen the one who chooseth for his god his own lust?"
(25:43) and "He followed his own lust.
Therefore his likeness is as the
likeness of a dog; if thou attackest him he panteth with his tongue out, and if
thou leavest him he panteth with his tongue out" (7:176)
And about the person who controlled the
passion of his ego,
Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) says:
"But as for him who feared to stand before his Lord and restrained his
soul from lust,
Lo! The garden will be his home"
(79:40-41).
Know that the body is like a town and
the intellect of the mature human being is like a king ruling that town.
All the forces of the external and
internal senses he can muster are like his soldiers and his aides.
The ego that enjoins evil (nafs Amara), that
is, lust and anger, is like an enemy that challenges him in his kingdom and
strives to slaughter his people. The body thus becomes like a garrison-town or
sea-outpost,
And the soul like its custodian posted
in it. If he fights against his enemies and defeats them
And compels them to do what he likes,
he will be praised when he returns to Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD)'s
presence, As Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) said: "Those who strive in
the way of Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) with their wealth and lives.
Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) hath
conferred on those who strive with their wealth and lives a rank above the
sedentary" (4:95).
The thoughts that stir one's desire are of two
kinds... praiseworthy, and that is called "inspiration" (ilham),
And blameworthy, and that is called
"whispering" (waswasa)... The heart is owned mutually by a Shaitan
and an angel...
The angel stands for a creature which
Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) has created for the overflowing of benefit,
the bestowal of knowledge,
The unveiling of truth, the promise of
reward, and the ordering of the good...
The Shaitan stands for a creature whose
business is to be against all this...
Waswasa: against ilham, Shaitan against angel,
success (tawfiq) against disappointment (khidhlan).
The Beloved Prophet Sallallaahu ‘alayhi
WA Sallam said: "There are two impulses in the soul, one from an angel
which calls towards good
And confirms truth; whoever finds this
let him know it is from Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) and praise Him.
Another impulse comes from the enemy
which leads to doubt and denies truth and forbids good; whoever finds this,
Let him seek refuge in Allah Subhanahu
WA Ta’aala (GOD) from the accursed devil." Then he recited the verse:
"The devil shows you fear of
poverty and enjoins evil upon you" (2:268)
Hasan al-Basri(r.a.) said: "Two thoughts
roam over the soul, one from Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD), one from the
enemy.
Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) shows
mercy on a servant who settles at the thought that comes from Him.
He embraces the thought that comes from
Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD), while he fights against the one from his
enemy.
To illustrate the heart's mutual
attraction between these two powers the Prophet (s) said:
"The heart of a believer lies
between two fingers of the Merciful" [Muslim, Ahmad,]...
The fingers stand for upheaval and
hesitation in the heart... If man follows the dictates of anger and appetite,
The
dominion of Shaitan appears in him through idle passions [Hawa]
And his heart becomes the nesting-place
and container of Shaitan, who feeds on Hawa.
If he does battle with his passions and
does not let them dominate his nafs,
Imitating in this the character of the
angels, at that time his heart becomes the resting-place of angels and they
alight upon it...
The Beloved Prophet Sallallaahu ‘alayhi
WA Sallam said: "There is none among you in whom there is not a
devil" They said:
"Even you O Messenger of Allah
Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD)?" He said: "Even in me,
But Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD)
helped me to overcome him and he has submitted to me,
So he doesn't order anything except
good" [Muslim]...
The mutual repelling of the soldiers of
the angels and the devils is constant in the battle over the heart,
Until the heart is conquered by one of
the two sides this sets up its nation and settles there...
And most hearts have been seized by the
soldiers of Shaitan,
Who fill them with the whispers that
call one to love this passing world and disregard the next?
The Beloved Prophet Sallallaahu ‘alayhi
WA Sallam said: al-mujahidu man jahada nafsahu fi ta’a Allah `azza wa jall
[The fighter against unbelief is he who fights
against his ego in obeying Allah azza WA jall (GOD).
It is not fit for a believing man or a
believing woman that Allah and His Messenger have decreed a matter and they
should have any option in their decision. And whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger
has indeed strayed in a clear deviation.
(Qur’an, 33:36)
Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala has
mentioned in the Holy Qur’an, “Indeed in the Messenger of Allah you have an
excellent example to follow, for the one who hopes in the meeting with Allah
and the Last Day and remembers Allah much.”
(Qur’an, 33:21)
Abu Hurairah Radiyallaahu ‘anhu reported that
the Beloved Prophet Sallallaahu ‘alayhi WA Sallam said: “All of my Ummah will
enter Paradise except those who refuse. The Sa’haba
Radiyallaahu ‘anhu enquired, and who will refuse O Messenger of Allah? Nabi Sallallaahu
‘alaihi wasallam said: Whoever obeys me will enter Paradise
and whoever disobeys me he has refused.”
(Bukhari)
"I never dealt with anything
stronger against me than my own ego;
It was one time with me, and one time
against me"...
"Fight against your ego with the four
swords of training:
Eat little, sleep little,
Speak little,
And be patient when people harm you...
Then the ego will walk and talk the paths of
obedience, like a fleeing horseman in the field of battle."

How one can control and deal with one's desires,
firstly the main thing is to make the law of Shari`ah
and its rulings as a judging authority that every Muslim should respect,
appreciate, and comply with. Secondly, some other scholars mention feeling
Allah's presence, seeking knowledge, and the continuance remembrance of Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD)
are the ways of controlling self-desires... Even those who are already
influenced by self-desire can use any of these ways to get rid of their,
self-desires...
The following are some selected ways:
1. Strong resolution.
2. Patience.
3. Self-courage.
4. Considering consequences.
5. Reflecting that Muslims have been created for a
great mission which cannot be fulfilled except by controlling one's desires.
6. Not to be enslaved by self-desires.
7. To know that Satan is the enemy that gets through
the servants of Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD). Satan uses desires to influence people.
8. To know that following self-desires will lead to
someone's destruction and punishment by Allah.
9. To know that fighting desires by making an effort
in order not to be influenced by the desires is one of the greatest forms of
jihad. Fighting desires is the essential message of Islam. Muslims are required
to make every effort to adhere to the teachings of the Qur'an and Sunnah.
10. To know that the one who lets the desires take
over and lead him will spoil his intellectual opinion.
11. To know that following desires will weaken the
eagerness for performing good deeds. The opposite is also true in this case -
that is, not following desires leads to strengthening one's motivation to
perform good deeds.
12. To know that not being misled by desires will
lead to the honour in this life and the Hereafter.
13. To know that following desires is the main cause
of the spiritual heart disease and the remedy of the disease is to not follow
desires. We have to make jihad to fight desires otherwise we will not be able
to fight our enemies.
14. To know that seeking knowledge and feeding it by
performing the preferable acts will strengthen one's faith.
15. To know that we need to be enlightened by the
Qur'an and Sunnah. This requires us to make the effort to recite the Qur'an in
order to know the meaning and the wisdom behind the ayahs.
Imam
Shafi r.a. said, may Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) have mercy on him: "Only the sincere one (mukhlis)
knows hypocrisy (riya').
“This
means that it is impossible to know the reality of hypocrisy and see its hidden
shades except for one who resolutely seeks (arada) sincerity. That one strives
for a long time (yajtahidu azmanan) searching and meditating and examining at
length within him until he knows or knows something of what hypocrisy is. This
does not happen for everyone. Indeed, this happens only with the special ones
(al-khawass).
But
for a given individual to claim that he knows what hypocrisy is, this is real
ignorance on his part.
This
world is an abode of the good as well as of the evil.
It
contains both the forces and each of them enjoys the freedom of action.
The
result is that they are locked in a ceaseless battle.
They
continuously try to overpower one another.
It
is, therefore, natural that impediments are placed in the way of Islam.
Not
only the evidence of its followers is not accepted, it is not even tolerated.
The
history of every religion and the evidence of everyday experience bear it out.
This
situation leads us to the question as to how the Muslims should overcome these
obstacles.
The
Islamic teachings guide man to search for the Fitra within.
It
is one of the Signs of Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) that are all around, and also in the very
creation of man.
"As
also in your own selves: will ye not then see? (Quran: 51: 21)
Teachings
provide humankind with a method by which Man can make the most out of her/his
life.
The
spiritual training system follows an order that responds to man's spiritual
needs in a wonderful way.
Al-Sharia
(the Islamic divine principles organizing the life of the individual and the
community) protects the less privileged and spreads justice and balance among
members of a community.
The
deviation from the Divine Law leads human beings to go astray and follow their
own
“Illusive
way”: that is called al-Hawa. In the language of the Holy Qur’an, al-Hawa is
explored semantically within different contexts.
Then
seest thou such a one as takes as his god his own vain desire (Hawa)?
Allah
has, knowing (him as such), left him astray, and sealed his hearing and his
heart and put a cover on his sight (Quran: 45:23)
Nay,
those who are unjust follow their own lusts (ahwa'ahum), being devoid of
knowledge but who will guide those whom Allah leaves astray?
To
them there will be no helpers. (Quran 30: 29)
And
for such as had entertained the fear the Majesty of his Lord) and had
restrained (their) soul from lower Desires (al-Hawa), paradise will be his home
(HQ 79:40-41)
Al-Hawa
within these contexts means an opposite way to the way of the pure innate
nature (al-Fitra), the Truth or the Divine Law.
It is anything that can divert man from the
righteous path, starting from man's desires, to any attraction that causes
confusion and hinder man from seeing or hearing the truth.
A
man that follows al-Hawa is unjust to her/him and to others. If man is capable
of removing al-Hawa from her/his way, she/he prepares her/himself to live in
harmony with or surrender to the Divine Law
There
are lots of impediments/ hindrances in following the rules and regulations of
Al-Sharia (the Islamic divine principles organizing the life of the individual
and the community). I.e.: (viz. Sex-passion, anger, greed, infatuation, vanity
and envy, parting all night long, expectation, etc.)
Obviously,
the struggle one makes for the achievement of an object is closely related to
the situation he is placed in.
The
nature of his circumstances determines the course of his action. It will be
wrong to brand it as opportunism.
It
is something quite natural. Every struggle that one makes has a definite
purpose.
It
is a means to an end and not an end by itself.
This
end is best served if the struggle made for it conforms to the prevailing
circumstances, situation and environments.
If this principle is not observed even the
best effort may prove futile. Such a course will be simply unwise and what is
unwise cannot be natural.
What
will be the most suitable course for 'warfare in the way of Allah' depends
solely upon the nature of each situation.
Our
Lord! Let not our hearts deviate from the truth after you have guided us, and
bestow upon us mercy from your grace.
Verily
you are the Giver of bounties without measure. (3:8)
Our
Lord! Forgive us our sins and the lack of moderation in our doings, and make
firm our steps and succor us against those who deny the truth. (3:147)
Our
Lord! Behold we have heard a voice calling us unto faith:
"Believe
in your Lord" and we have believed.
Our
Lord! Forgive us our sins and efface our bad deeds and take our souls in the
company of the righteous. (3:193)

Allah stops the Nafs at the time of its death
There are Three enemies working against every human
being.
The first of these enemies is Nafs,
The second is Satan.
And the third and final is Dunya.
Islam's stand, vis-Ă -vis man's pure nature and its
strength and firmness has been discussed.
As regards its dealings with the devil-like natures,
that has also been made clear.
Islam warns mischievous-natured people. It entrusts
its reins in the hands of the healthy intellect;
it encourages
it to bow down to the pure nature and to surrender itself to Allah.
The prophet has hinted at some of these kinds of natures:
"The son of Adam reaches the old age and two of
his habits do not leave him.
One is greed and the second is the unending
succession of hopes."(Muslim)
"If the son of Adam is given a valley of gold,
he will desire to have another one.
And if the other is also given, he will be greedy to
have the third one.
The hunger of Adam's son will not be satisfied except
when his remains are mixed with the dust.
And the one who turns to Allah, Allah accepts his
repentance." (Bukhari)
The holy Quran has mentioned some of the habits in
the Surah Ale Imran:
"Fair in the eyes of men is the love of things
they covet, women and sons; heaped up hoards of gold and silver; horses branded
(for blood and excellence); and (wealth of) cattle and well-tilled land. Such
are the possessions of this world's life; but in the nearness to Allah is the
best of the goals (to return to)."(Ale-Imran: 14)
The first thing Islam wants man to pay attention to
is this that to run after the carnal desires of the self and to follow its
unending demands will never satisfy self and make it contented. Truth and right
path will not be acceptable to it. The condition of the self is that when its one
desire is satisfied, it immediately demands to have some other desire
satisfied. It is always busy in eating, drinking, and having a good time, and
greedy with desire to have more and more of everything. It has no hesitation in
committing sin and acts of aggression and cruelty. Therefore, Quran has
forbidden men to follow the desires that have been considered haram:
"Nor follow you the lusts (of your heart), for
they will mislead you from the path of Allah; for those who wander astray from
the path of Allah, is a penalty grievous, for that they forget the Day of
Account."
(Saad: 26)
The policy of the infidels and the necessity of
opposing it and its importance have been mentioned in these words: "If the
Truth had been in accord with their desires, truly the heavens and the earth
and all beings therein would have been in confusion and corruption! Nay, we
have sent them their admonition, but they turn away from their
admonition." (Muminin... 71)
It is necessary that a distinction be made between
the forbidden desires of the self and the lawful desires, because some
so-called religious people have mixed up these two very dangerously.
If man wants to enjoy the goods of the world, then
there is nothing wrong in it, but it is a very serious error that this kind of
lawful demands and desires has also been included in the list of forbidden,
wicked acts. Its consequence is this that man satisfies his lawful and
respectable desires, but his conscience becomes like the conscience of those
people who accept crimes as lawful and adopt them willingly. In this way their
conscience
When he realizes that he has committed a mistake, and
that sin is an inevitable part of his life, then he commits more serious sins
and indulges in the strictly forbidden acts. In other words this time he
becomes a criminal and a sinner in the real sense of the word.
The holy Quran has paid special attention to this
aspect and has very clearly declared the pure desires of the self and the
lawful wishes as proper and lawful, and provided it with a chance to use Halaal
and clean things. It declared any interference of narrowness and inhibition in
this respectable and lawful sphere by way of any checks on the self as bad and
obscene, because it opens the gate for obscene acts and sinning.
"O you people I Eat on earth what is lawful
(hala) and clean (Tayyab) and do not follow the footsteps of Satan Indeed, he
is an open enemy for you. He will command you (to do) what is evil and indecent
and induce you
It is a fact that to put restrictions on the
consumptions of what is lawful (hala) and clean (Tayyab) is nothing but leveling
false charges against Allah, and this thing amounts to evil and indecency which
Satan commands men to do. Islam does not like to repress such natures and
inclinations with force and punishment, nor does it want to placate or Batter
them, but Islam follows a balanced method which is free of any kind of excess.
Nafs-e-Amara is the evil stage of the Nafs, and it's
very important to reform the Nafs in the light of The Holy Quran. For it is
mentioned that those who don't struggle to reform themselves are in loss and
those who struggle throughout the whole of their life to reform themselves of
ill commanding desires are the people of success.
Action of the human lies on his intention. So the
consequence of his every action has its impact on his self, even "the
treachery of the eyes and what the breasts conceal (Quran, 40: 19)"
develop the imprints on the self. This is the Registry of conduct, the debit or
credit side of the ledger kept for him: "And on every man we have fastened
his record about his neck (Quran, 17: 13)." He will read this same augury
at the time of judgment (the time when the consequences are declared). The
Quran says: "Read your Register today. Today your self suffices you as a
reckon or against you (Quran, 17: 14; and also 75: 14-15)." This
establishes the individuality of the human self (Quran, 6: 95; 19: 95). Man
bears responsibility for all those actions in which his self was involved. If
the action was wrong, he has no option but to submit to the
"punishment" which is the necessary result of his action. It will not
avail him to offer excuses that he acted heedlessly in a fit of abstraction, or
with a good intention. His own heart will bear witness against him ([75:14]
(The human being will be his own judge). (Quran, 75: 14 ;) & 6: 165).
The very important phenomenon of the human self is
that it is proficiency, potentiality, capacity or a realizable form, neither
good, nor evil in itself. Its use, like other entropies, makes it good or evil.
When the human makes its use for the solidarity and preservation of higher
values, it becomes the cause of good (it develops with this process.) When the
human makes use of his "choice and will" for achieving the low/mean
self-gains (where the higher values are neglected) it manifests evil. In this
case, just for discrimination from human self, we call it as "ego".
Ego is extant at the animal level whereas self is at the human level. When
human emotions operate under the command of ego, the Quran interprets it with
the term "Hawa" (The very root of this word connotes the concept of
"mean-ness, low-mindedness, and mean-spiritedness".) And when the
human intellect serves the purpose of ego, it is called ruse, craftiness, and
feigning, deceived ness. On the contrary, when the emotions operate under the
command of human self, it becomes the highest essence of humanity. And when the
intellect becomes subordinate to the self, the human life and the society
become a heaven.
Some times it so happens that the Nafs of the human
commits an evil, then there emanate the feelings of shame, of remorsefulness.
This, in fact, is a kind of conflict between the ego and the self. The Quran
calls this condition as "Nafs-e-Lawwaama" (Quran, 75:2) i.e., the
reproaching Nafs, the remorseful Nafs. This must be understood, in this
connection, that the human self has no proficiency, no capacity, no capability,
to distinguish between good and evil in itself. Discrimination between good and
evil can be done by means of Revelation of Allah alone. "Nafs-e-Lawwaama"
will reproach that alone which it considers as evil. But it is not necessary
that the one which it considers evil is evil in real sense. And the one it
considers good is good in reality (consult the Quran's concepts of La Ha Meem
and Fa Ta Ra). In this way the human conscience is no criterion for judging the
good and evil.
When man obeys
the Laws of Allah, the conflict between good and evil vanishes.
The self overpowers the low and the mean attractions.
The Quran calls this state as "Nafs-e-Mutmaenna" (Quran, 89: 27).
This phase, in the terminology of the contemporary Psychology, is called
Integrated Personality. The reverse of it is called Disintegrated Personality.
The Quran has interpreted both these conditions as Fojooraha WA Taqwaha (Quran,
91: 8-9) and has called the development of the self as the ultimate goal of
human life. According to the Quran, this is the achievement of life (Quran, 91:
10). Since every human child gets the human self by birth, every human is
respect worthy (14: 70). And none enjoys the right to make anyone subordinate.
"Choice and will" is the basic facet of the human self, so getting
anyone obey one's orders, exploiting others' option of "choice and
will", is depriving one of one's prestige and dignity. According to the
Quran, obeying is only to the Laws of Allah. (The Quran calls it as Ibadah.) It
is not the obeying of the orders of any despot or of any tyrant ruler. This
obeying is the acting upon the Laws of Allah from the core of one's heart.
'This acting upon' is the self-imposed limitation of the human being on
himself. It is because it makes one's self develop. It is only the Quranic
Social Order that establishes the milieu in which no one remains subservient to
any one else. This makes the self go on growing higher and higher. The human
self can not grow in the solitary life of the monasticism.
There is one verse in Sura Zumar: "Allah stops
the Nafs at the time of its death, and that, which does not die, makes it so,
in its state of sleep; then He withholds that for which He has decreed death,
and sends back the other for a stated term (39: 42)." The question is:
"What does the term Nafs -which is made to stop during the state of sleep
and death both; and when the human awakes, sends it back, but in case of death
is not sent back - mean in this
verse?" So far as sleep is concerned, we know it well that every thing
except consciousness is extant in the human; even the subconscious ness remains
present. It is evident that Nafs in this verse means the state of its
consciousness. It means the consciousness does not remain present in both the states
of sleep and death. When the sleeping person awakes, his consciousness again
starts operating. But in case of death, consciousness loses its link with the
body. After death, the reactivation of consciousness is called "the life
after death." How does the consciousness (or Nafs) reactivate in this
life, we can not understand it at this level of our consciousness? It is
because the only mean of activation of our consciousness today is our material
body. We can not imagine the operational state of our consciousness without the
body; it is because the body is the mean at this stage of life through which
the consciousness operates. The Quran has never told as to what will be the
mean for activating consciousness in the life hereafter, nor was it of any use.
But the activation of Nafs after death is the reality which the Quran describes
as an established fact. And we have fervid faith (conviction) in it. This is
the genuine base on which the edifice of Deen is erected.
That is why the Deen is said to be a Social Order
where the dualism of personal and private segments of life, of Deen and Dunya,
or of religious and 'worldly' matters etc. does not exist.
It must be remembered here that there is at least one
marked distinction in the way of development of the self from that of the body.
The body grows by taking and assimilating nutrient substances from the
environment. The more nourishment it gets, the better is its growth.
Paradoxically, the self grows not by receiving but by giving. Generosity promotes
its growth and meanness checks it. The more the self gives of its riches, the
richer it grows. If this basic truth is clearly perceived, men will rush to the
help of those in need. They will think more of what they can give than of what
they can keep for themselves. The acquisitive instinct will be weakened and the
impulse to give will gain strength. The Quran extols men who put the interests
of others above their own: "They prefer others before themselves, although
there is indigence among them; and whosoever is preserved from the covetousness
of his own self, these shall prosper (Quran, 59: 9). That is why the Quran has
laid down the standard that "Only the most munificent is the fittest to
survive". Those who have imbibed the true spirit of the Quran will eschew
selfishness and will dedicate themselves to the service of humanity. These are
the real Muslims manifesting the Quran's true concept of human self.
As the rules and regulations of the healthy nature
are secure in faith and reform and they have no connection with heresy and
agnosticism, similar is the case of the rebellious natures and habits.
In both the cases only a strong and firm moral
character can control it. Where the holy Quran has mentioned man's weakness,
his anxiety, his richness and indifference, there it has also made it clear
that the remedy of these indignities lies in following the path of religion.
"Truly man was created very impatient; fretful
when evil touches him; and niggardly when good reaches him ; not so those
devoted to prayer, those who remain steadfast to their prayer; and those in
whose wealth is recognized right for (the needy) who asks and him who is
prevented (for some reason from asking) ; and those who hold to the Truth of
the Day of Judgment; and those who fear the displeasure of their Lord or the
Lord's displeasure is the opposite of peace and tranquility; and those who
guard their chastity." (.41-Ma'arij... 19-29)
It is common knowledge that good moral character does
not develop suddenly. Nor does it become strong and firm in the beginning. It
requires consistency and gradualness. And in strengthening it there come many
stages.
That is the reason why in its nourishment and growth
it is required to perform such acts that have to be repeated. The quality that
is developed should have consistency, e.g. prayer, fasting, Hajj, Zakat, and
the performance of other forms of worship, confirmation of the Day of the
Judgment, and to be fearful of its punishments, etc.
When the rebellious natures insist on their acts and
are steadfast on their wrong stance, and continue to attempt to traverse the
wrong path from time to time, then to check and prevent it no fixed and
temporary remedy can be found.
Their transgression and intensity can be brought to
the normal level only by such an activist who is more strong and powerful than
them and who may be able to bring them to a balanced level.
The long and short of the discussion is that Islam
respects the human nature and considers its teachings as the voice of that
nature. It warns the rebellious natures and reforms their point of view. Those
forms of worship which have been made compulsory in Islam are such as
strengthen the human nature and turn the wind of desires to the right
direction.
And these forms of worship do not perform their
duties satisfactorily and the desired objective cannot be obtained from them
unless they generate the excellent moral character and the tendency to
exemplary treatment of others.
Shaitan always attacks us when we are migrating
spiritually towards Allah. This is obviously a very vulnerable stage and it
causes lack of peace in the heart and something keeps bugging you inside. It’s
not anything to worry about its just that your faith is growing stronger
Alhamdullilah.
A brother once advised me, to not let the whisperings
of Shaitan pull you down, rather work according to the intellect. Other things
are:
1) Open the eyes of your heart
2) After your Salah, ponder, feel the humility before
Allah (swt) and constantly repeat 'La ilaha illaa anta Subhanaka inni kuntu
mina dhalimeen' (There is no God but you, Glory be to you, I am from the
transgressors).... keep taking deep breaths and you feel InshaAllah feel the
peace and security in your heart
3) Read a Makki Surah (Surah that is revealed in
Makkah) its translation as well... This will definitely (InshaAllah) bring
peace to the heart
4) Try meditation
May Allah protect you and Guide you
Shaitan
won't care for you if you are sinning or not doing your wajib. He will start to
care when he sees you trying to get away from him and wanting to get closer to
Allah. That's the weakest link for most people. They break when they are at
their spiritual peak. But don't worry. Even the most learned, pious men have
it. Don't let fear guide you. Leave guidance for Allah.
Our
Lord! Let not our hearts deviate from the truth after you have guided us, and
bestow upon us mercy from your grace.
Verily
you are the Giver of bounties without measure. (3:8)
