“[Innama bu`ithtu rahmatun wa lam ub`athu `adhaban --]
I was sent only as Mercy? I was not sent as a punishment.
Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam.
"Whoever recites salawat for me once, Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) recites salawat for him ten times, his ten mistakes are forgiven, and he is elevated ten degrees high"
For some days they had been coming out of Yathrib to welcome him, but after waiting for him through the forenoon they went back disappointed.
On the day of his arrival, they had just returned to their homes when they heard a Jew, who was for some reason standing at a height, and who perceived Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) and his companions approaching in the distance, call aloud, ‘O ye Arabs, the one you have been awaiting is approaching.’ On hearing this Muslims were overjoyed, and, taking up their arms in a hurry, emerged from the city to welcome the illustrious traveler.
When Ansar had the first glimpse of Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam), their joy knew no bounds.
They felt that on them had been bestowed all the blessings of the here and the hereafter.
Bukhari has reported Bara’a bin Ahzab R.A. as saying that on no other occasion did he behold Ansar exhibiting such spontaneous joy as they did on the arrival of the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) in Yathrib.
Reported Anas bin Malik R.A. as saying:
‘The day the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) arrived in Medina we perceived as if the city had been illumined, and on the day that he died it seemed to us that we had never seen Medina so dark.’.
This is a well-known invocation of blessings and peace upon Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam)). Some of the words in it come from the Ansar who greeted the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) with outpourings of joy and acclamation when he entered Madina for his Emigration there.
May Allah forgive the dryness of our tongues and the obduracy of our hearts for the sake of His Beloved Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam)) who said: "I was sent only as Mercy? I was not sent as a punishment." [Innama bu`ithtu rahmatun wa lam ub`athu `adhaban --]

It is clear that he whom Allah satisfies his worldly needs has been truly blessed with Allah’s kindness and mercy. He also has been given security from all that he fears, and has attained the utmost protection from all harm and evils; indeed he is carried aboard the ship of salvation. This means he is secure from all things which create worries and needs, secure from poverty, debt, subjugation, weakness, disease, fear, and all other calamities and disasters; he has guaranteed that his worldly affairs will be upright and good. . And should he obtain, alongside this, forgiveness from the sins and salvation from the perils of the Day of Resurrection, so that he may enter Paradise in peace, he has most certainly guaranteed that his affairs in the Hereafter will be good and upright, too.
Among the greatest means of obtaining ease in times of hardship is invocating blessings and peace upon the Prophet of Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) which Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) himself clarified for us how in a tradition narrated by Ubayy bin Ka`b (may Allah be pleased with him), who said; ‘I said, ‘O Messenger of Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD), I supplicate often, so how much of my supplication should I devote to you?’ He replied, ‘as you desire’. I said, ‘a quarter of it?’ He said ‘as you desire, but if you were to increase upon this, it would be better for you.’ I said, ‘half of it?’ He said, ‘as you desire, but if you were to increase upon this, it would be better for you.’ I said, ‘two-thirds of it?’ He said again, ‘as you desire, but if you were to increase upon this, it would be better for you.’ Finally I said, ‘and if I dedicate my supplication in its entirety to you?’ He said, ‘then your needs will be satisfied, and your sins forgiven.’
