I am the prayer of Ibrahim (A.S.) and the prophecy of 'Isa (A.S.). Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam.

Tawassul is the very heart of Islam, and the Shahadah contains a declaration of belief in tawassul,
"Saud ibn Qarib recited a poem in front of the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam)

'I bear witness that

There is none worthy of worship except Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD). Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) has made you the trustee over all the Ghaib' "


It is permissible to supplicate to Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) with the tawassul of good deeds.

It is permitted to supplicate with the tawassul of a living pious person and

It is also permitted to supplicate with the tawassul of the deceased pious person.

Praise be to Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD), Lord of all the worlds, and blessings and peace of Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) upon His Prophet and Messenger Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam, his Family and all his Companions.

For one cannot be a Muslim unless one recognizes the messenger ship and prophet hood of Prophet Muhammad
Sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam

There is not one single act of worship in Islam that is not a tawassul (seeking means to Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD), therefore it is inadmissible to say that tawassul is not an integral and central part of Islam alone who said: "I created the jinn and humankind only that they might worship me" (51:56). Therefore this is seeking an obligatory means to an obligatory end.
The pillars of Islam similarly all consist in actions which are means before Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) for one who performs them.

 Intercession is the greatest means as it will be only through intercession that the people of the Fire will enter Paradise, and Allah even called Himself "Intercessor" in the verse: "You have not, beside Him, a protecting friend or mediator" (32:4) and in the long hadith narrated by Muslim wherein the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam said:
       Allah will say: "The angels have interceded. The Prophets have interceded. The believers have interceded.
There does not remain except the Most Merciful of the merciful ones."

               The Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam also called the Qur'an an intercessor, declared that people were intercessors, and gave as an example the intercession of children for the parents who lost them in their infancy. We ask for the intercession of the dead person every time we pray Janazah, when we say: Allahumma la tuhrimna ajrahum which means "O Allah, do not prevent their benefit from reaching us."  Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD)  declares that the best people are the Prophets, then those who are absolutely truthful (siddiqeen) and these are the great saints, then the martyrs (shuhada), then the righteous (salihun), and the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam declared that every person will be making intercession on the Day of Resurrection, but with an order of priority among them, just as  Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD)  gives precedence in this world to those who are closest to Him. All this is a great blessing of Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD)  to the worlds and the reason why we are greatly blessed on this earth despite our sins. For the earth is never empty of the true worshippers and there is still someone left saying "Allah." If you realize this, you will never harbor doubts about Muslims availing themselves of the blessings and guidance that  Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD)  sends to them in the persons of the anbiyaa' and awliyâ'.

          Nor do we believe that the friendship with Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) established in nubuwwa and wilaya stops with death. We strenuously reject the heresy of those who claim that the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam is dead and gone after delivering his message. Hasha, WA Ta’aala Allahu `amma yasifun. He is alive and fed, our greetings reach him, our actions are shown to him, he intercedes for us, and the dust of his grave is the most blessed spot on earth for which no show of love and honor is too great. No-one who has love in their heart approaches it without adab. It is the responsibility of every Muslim to ascertain what is correct from what is wrong, and tawassul is correct, recommended, and one of the greatest means of drawing close to Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD), first and foremost through the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam. This is the position of the overwhelming majority of the scholars until our own time, opposed by a handful of dissenters.

              The following is evidence that prove the permissibility to seek the Wasilla of the living and the deceased:
               Proof from the Qur'an

                Allah Most High says in the Holy Qur'an:

                "O you who Believe! Do your duties to Allah and fear Him; seek the means of approach unto him,
                And strive (with might and main) in His cause so that you may prosper [Sura Maida, verse 35]

In this verse, Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) has informed us to seek ways of obtaining Wasilla, a means to

Approach Him. Our Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) is our Wasilla in this world and the hereafter.

Allah Most High says in the Holy Qur'an:

"Before that, they were asking for victory over the infidels by means of the same Prophet"

[Sura Baqara, verse 89]

Proof from Hadith
                  "When Adam (peace be upon him) made a mistake, he made du’aa like this: ' O Allah forgive my mistake with the Wasilla of Muhammad!'  Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) asked Prophet Adam (A.S) [rhetorically] how he knew about Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam). Adam (A.S) replied, 'when you created me, I lifted my head and saw: 'LA ILA HA ILLALLAHU MUHAMMADUR RASUL'LLAH' written on the Throne. Therefore I knew that this person must be of a very high status. Otherwise you would not have written his name with yours.'  Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) Most High then said, 'I have forgiven you. He will be the last Messenger from your children and I have created you because of him.'

The second narration is when Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) Most High created the sky, and the earth. He wrote our Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) name on the pillars of the Throne and on the doors of Paradise, and on the leaves of the trees in Paradise. It was written that Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam would be the last prophet. In addition, both of these narrations are proofs which support each other. They have the status as authentic narrations"

"Imam Malik R.A. was present at the blessed grave of the Messenger of Allah Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) whereupon Caliph Haroon approached and asked him 'Which direction shall I face when I supplicate?' Imam Malik replied, 'Why turn your face away from Rasulullah (Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) when he is a Wasilla for you as he was for your father, Adam A.S. Turn your face towards the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) and make istishfaa [request for du’aa]' "

Imam Bukhari writes:
"There was a famine during the Khalifa of 'Umar (R.A) who supplicated to Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) by presenting the Wasilla of the uncle of the Messenger of Allah, 'Abbas (R.A). He prayed to Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) by saying: 'O Allah! We used to supplicate to you with the Wasilla of the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) and you would bestow us with rain. Now we present you with the Wasilla of 'Abbas, the uncle of the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam). So please grant us rain' "

Both the above narrations prove that to supplicate with the Wasilla of a pious person is permitted and is from the ijmaa of the Sa’haba.

The Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) Himself, Advised Us to Make Du’aa through His Wasilla.

"Uthman ibn Hanif (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that a blind person came to Rasulullah (Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) and said: 'Pray to Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) that He bestows upon me sight.' Rasulullah (Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam)) replied: 'Perform ablution, pray two rakah’s Salat and then supplicate to Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) in this way:’ an Allah, I ask you through the Wasilla of the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam).' Allah Most High returned his sight"
Bukhari, in 'Ta'rikh';]

"'Uthman ibn Hanif reported that a blind person came to the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam). The blind person asked, 'Do du’aa' for me so Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) Most High restores my sight.' Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam ) said, 'If you really want to, I can do du’aa' for you or I can leave it [This means that if the blind man leaves his sight as it is, he will be rewarded more on the Day of Judgment]. But the blind man still insisted that the Prophet should make du’aa' for him. The Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) asked him to perform ablution and pray two rakah’s nawafil and to make the following supplication: 'O Allah! I ask you with the Wasilla of the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam). Ya Muhammad! I am making du’aa' to Allah Most High with your Wasilla, so that Allah Most High may accept my du’aa'. O Allah! Make Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) as my interceder"
           
 Ahmad, This hadith proves that it is permissible to make supplication with the Wasilla of the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam)

[It is proved from the above hadith that it is permissible to say 'Ya Muhammad' and it is also permissible to make supplication to Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) with the Wasilla of the Prophet.

Imam Bukhari writes that the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) said, 'Help the poor, because the help and food that Allah has given to you is with their Wasilla.'

[Bukhari, chapter on 'Jihad']

Allah helps the Ummah and provides them with food because of the sincere Dua’s of the poor people.

Imam Bukhari and Imam Muslim write:
"The Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) said, 'A time will come when the non-believers will fight the Muslims. It will be asked, 'Is there anyone in the army who has seen the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam)?' They will reply 'yes' and then win the war. Another time will come when there will be another war between the non-believers and the Muslims and it will be asked, 'Is there anyone in the army who has seen the Companions of the Prophet?' They will reply 'yes' and then win the war. Another time will come and a question will be asked, 'Is there anyone in the army who has seen the people who have seen the Companions of the Prophet?' They will reply 'yes', and will win the war'"

[Bukhari, and Muslim,
These three wars will be won by the Muslims with the Wasilla of the Sahabas, Tabi'un and Tabi'u't -Taabi’i. This hadith is also verified by another hadith, where the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam)) said: "The best of generations is my generation, and then that of the generation after mine, and then the generation after that"

"The Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) said that 'Seven people will always remain in my Ummah, and with their Wasilla, Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD)   will provide rain, help, and food for the Ummah.' Another hadith states that the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) said that 30 abdal (saints) will always stay in my Ummah, and with their Wasilla, Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) Most High will provide rain, help and food.'  (Hasan al-Basri R.A. was one of them)."

252. " These are the Signs of Allah; we recite them to you (Muhammad) in truth, and verily, you are (one) of the Messengers."


"Sayidina 'Ali  (Radiyallaahu anhu) narrated that, the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) said, 'There will remain 40 abdal (Saints) in Syria. Through their Wasilla, Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) will provide food, shelter, rain and victory over the kuffar. Whenever one dies, he is replaced by another' "

The Prophet is Our Wasilla Even after His Death

"A person came to 'Uthman Ghani (Radiyallaahu anhu) with regards to seeking some assistance, but he was unable to attract the attention of the Khalifa on every attempt. The same person met 'Uthman ibn Hanif, (Radiyallaahu anhu) and told him his problem. 'Uthman ibn Hanif gave him some advice which was: 'Perform Wudu, pray two rak’ah nawafil and then supplicate in this way: 'Ya Allah, I ask you through the Wasilla of Your Messenger Muhammad. The person again went to 'Uthman ibn Affan (Radiyallaahu anhu) who helped him with his work and also said, 'if you ever need my help in future, I will help you (with regards to work)' "

"...The opinion of 'Uthman ibn Hanif is that it is permitted to supplicate in this way even after our Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam passed away. But since this is not evident from any other Companion it does not prove that it is wajib"

it is permitted to seek the Wasilla off the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam, and it has never been claimed that it is wajib.

These are all the proofs that demonstrate that it is permitted to supplicate to Allah by presenting the Wasilla of the pious, whether they are alive or have passed away. And success is from Allah.

 Noor- The blessed light of our Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam

We believe that it is indeed permissible to call the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam’ Nur'. The Qur'an has chosen and applied this word itself to the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam
The Companions would often call him (Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) 'Nur'.

However, it is often at this point that those who oppose this view believe, from some erroneous conviction they hold, and that we claim the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam not human! This is indeed strange and a gross accusation. For those who claim that he was not a human, have clearly ventured out of the bounds of Islam, and have entered into kufr. The Noble Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam is Nur and human,

Check this for proof.
Proof from Qur'an

Allah Most High says in the Holy Qur'an:

"Undoubtedly, there has come to you from Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) a light and a Book, luminous ".

[Sura al-'Maida', verse 15]

In this verse that the meaning of 'Nur' in this verse is used for our Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam, as
From the above evidence we conclude that it is permissible to call Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam’ Nur' and it is not kufr or shirk as some people consider it to be.
Proof from the Hadith

Imam at-Tirmidhi wrote that when he smiled, it seemed as if Nur was coming from his teeth.

[Ash-Shama’il at-Tirmidhi]

"When Adam (peace be upon him) was being created, the Nur of Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) was placed on Adam's (peace be upon him) forehead and Adam saw the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam. Adam (May Allah bless him and grant him peace) asked, 'Who is he?' Allah Most High replied, 'He is the last Prophet and will be the chief of your children' "

"Abu Huraira (Radiyallaahu anhu) narrates that: 'One night Rasulullah sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam asked me to take Hasan and Husain (Radiyallaahu anhuma) to their mother. When I departed with them I witnessed a light which lit our path and traveled with us until we reached their doorstep' "

 Sirat an-Nabi, chapter on 'Mu'jizat']

"Muhammad ibn Hamza ((Radiyallaahu anhu) narrates that 'Once Rasulullah sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam made my fingers glow with light.'

"When the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam was born, the King of Abyssinia witnessed the Nur of the Messenger Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam"

[Ta'rikh Ibn Kathir, chapter on 'Milad an-Nabi', vol. 2]

"One Companion (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that upon the occasion of Hujjat al-Wada [the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam last sermon on the day of Hajj] he saw that the blessed face of Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) was shining like the moon"

"Whilst 'Abd al-Muttalib was walking with his son ''Abdullah, a woman saw a light on the forehead of 'Abdullah. She approached them and offered one hundred camels so that 'Abdullah may marry her but they refused her offer. Some time after his marriage to Amina, 'Abdullah again confronted this woman but this time she made no offers to marry him and said: 'The Nur upon your forehead is no longer present' "

[Ibn Kathir, Ta'rikh Ibn Kathir, vol. 2. and Sirat an-Nabi; Ibn Jarir, at-Tabari chapter on 'Milad an-Nabi']

'The Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam said:’ I am the prayer of Ibrahim (A.S.) and the prophecy of 'Isa (A.S.). When my mother was pregnant she witnessed so much light from her body that she could see the palaces of Syria.'

Ibn al-Jawzi narrates that the Nur of the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam would overcome the light of both the sun and the lamp.

[Ibn Jawzi, Al-Wafa, chapter on 'al-Wilada']

Hafiz Ibn Kathir writes:

"Ka`b ibn Malik (Radiyallaahu anhu) recited a [na’ats] poem in the presence of the Prophet (May Allah blesses him and grants him peace) [part of which we have translated from Arabic is]:

'We have come to you and you have transformed our darkness into light and have removed the barriers of ignorance.'

It was Ka`b ibn Zuhair (Radiyallaahu anhu) who so eloquently praised the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam and the Emigrants with his poem “Baanat Su’aad”, and as he finished the 58 verses, the Prophet (May Allah bless him and grant him peace) rose up, and wrapped his own cloak (burdah) around Ka`b (Radiyallaahu anhu) in appreciation.  For this reason, the poem is known as the original “al-Burdah”.


"Hasan ibn Thabit (Radiyallaahu anhu) said: 'Rasulullah Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam is that star from which even the moon of the fourteenth night obtains it light' "


"From Ibn Hisham who narrates that Hasan ibn Thabit (Radiyallaahu anhu) said:' when I was eight years old, a Jew was calling to the people; they gathered around him and asked him what the commotion was. He replied:’ The star of Ahmad has risen, that which is born tonight' "

 Ibn Kathir, vol. 2; Ibn Hisham, Sirat an-Nabi, chapter on Milad an-Nabi]

All these references are proof of the light of Rasulullah Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam, which was felt by the people and witnessed by those in his presence.
What was the first thing that Allah created?

There is a difference of opinion amongst the scholars with regards to what was the first to be created, whether it was water, A’rsh (Throne), or the Ruh (Nur) of May Allah Most High bless those good poets who, in each generation - including ours - and in various languages - including ours- remind us of our Lord, uplift our hearts, raise our aspirations and increase us in love for the beloved of Allah, about whom Hassan ibn Thabit (Radiyallaahu anhu) once said in verse,

“And more excellent than you, my eye has never seen,
And more beautiful than you, no woman ever gave birth to;

You were created free from any flaw whatsoever,
As though you were created just the way you wanted”.  [Diwan Hassan ibn Thabit]

Oh my Lord, send peace and blessings, always and forever, upon your beloved Messenger, the best of all creation.). We say that the Prophet (May Allah bless him and grant him peace) was the first creation of Allah Almighty.

Allah Most High says in the Qur'an:

"And O beloved! Remember when we took covenant from the Prophets and from you, and from Nuh and Ibrahim and Musa and ''Isa son of Maryam; and we took from them a firm covenant"
[Sura al-Ahzab, verse 7]

From the above verse we are shown that Allah took the covenant from His beloved first and then from the other anbiyaa, even though they came before. The answer to this has been written by the following scholars:


"Prophet Muhammad (May Allah bless him and grant him peace) said that 'I was created before every one and I came at the end of all the Prophets' "

Allah Most High says in the Qur'an:

"Who sees you when you stand and

...your movements among those who offer prayers".

[Sura ash-Shu'ara', verse 219]

In reference to this verse, Hafiz ibn Kathir writes:

"Abdullah ibn Abbas reported that the verse '...your movements among those who offer prayers' means that the Nur moved from one Prophet to the next and this carried on until it reached Amina's house and then the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) was born"

"The Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam said, 'I always stayed amongst the pure and then at the end I appeared to my mother' "

[Ibn Kathir, Sirat an-Nabi, chapter on 'Wilada']

"'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that on returning from the expedition of Tabuk, I said to Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam I wish to recite a qasida about you', to which he replied:’ May Allah bless your mouth!’ I then recited this qasida:[translated part of it in English from Arabic]

"Before you came into the world, you were under the leaves of Heaven's trees.
Prophet Adam covering his body with the leaves of Heavenly trees [when his heavenly clothes were taken off him]

Before Adam came into the world, your (Nur) was transferred upon his forehead.

Through Adam you came into the world, but at the time you were not human, nor a piece of flesh, not even a drop of blood.

But at the time you were only (Nur) in your fore-father's back.

And when others were drowning your fore-father, Nuh, boarded the boat.

After coming off the boat your (Nur) was transferred from one clean woman to another

Until you came into the back of Prophet Ibrahim. How can the fire burn him while you were in his back?

Then you traveled into Khindaf, who was also a clean woman.

That is how you kept traveling forward, until the time of your birth came. When you were born, the Earth and the edge of the sky all shone as they never did from your Nur. We are still traveling under the same guidance of that Nur'"

"There is a hadith in which Rasulullah (Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) stated:’ I was a Prophet even when Adam (peace be upon him) was between clay and water [i.e. in the process of being created]

Prophet Muhammad Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam stated:’ I have always been amongst the good (group), and my Nur was present even before Adam.'

The Companions used to call the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam 'Nur

When Rasulullah Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam had passed away, the following na'ats was recited:

Imam Ibn SA’d write that Hasan ibn Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) recited:

"Who can compare to the one who was Nur, the one from whom light was extracted.
There were blessings in his commands and he was our guide and Warner.
He was such a Nur that his light shone upon the whole of the creation.
The person who has shown us the path of this blessed (Nur) attained success.
He was the light, he was the Nur. It is his footsteps that we follow, and after Allah, he was our ears and eyes"

Ka`b ibn Malik (Radiyallaahu anhu) stated:’ He was Bashir an-Nazir and the rays of his Nur kept us enlightened. Allah saved us through his blessings of Nur, and through his mercy we obtained salvation from the fire of Hell.'

Arwa bint 'Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with her) stated:’ If I weep, then it is for him who was the Nur for all the nations; he was the Messenger of Allah and his name was Ahmad, let me remain in this state of mind.'

Atiqa bint 'Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with her) stated 'O my eyes! Weep for the one who was the selected Nur, who was from the children of Hashim!'

Safi ya bint 'Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with her) stated: 'Upon the one with whom Allah is pleased, the one upon guidance and piety, the one who brought the light of guidance after darkness.'

Hind bint 'Usasa bin 'Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with her) stated: 'He was the moon of the fourteenth night, such a Nur from which light was extracted and by the Lord he was bestowed with the Book.'

[Ibn SA’d, chapter on 'Wafat an-Nabi']

Everything contained in this chapter is evidence in support of the fact that the Nur of Rasulullah Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam was present long before human creation. For this reason our believe that although Rasulullah Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) was a human being (bashar), it is also justified to call him Nur.

This was the reality of the creed of Nur, which is the belief of the Ahl as-Sunna wa'l-Jama'a. The final question we ask is that if it is kufr to have such belief, can all the scholars (whose names and references have been given) also be classified as kuffar?

" Glory to "Allah" Who did take His servant for a Journey by night from the Sacred Mosque to the farthest Mosque, whose precincts We did bless,- in order that We might show him some of Our Signs: for He is the One Who hearth and seeth (all things)."  Qur'an 17:1  

Some claim that you are like any one of us,
But who can claim, to have visited the A’rsh?
 We say Bashir, but respect is also due.
For mankind are like rocks, but a pearl are you.
You traveled the seven Heavens, and your eyes did not lie.
For Jibril A.S, could not pass, but You, O My Beloved Madani, glided by.

Abu Hurayrah relates that the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam said: This religion is easy. No one becomes harsh and strict in the religion without it overwhelming him. So, fulfill your duties as best you can and rejoice. Rely upon the efforts of the morning and of the evening and a little at night and you will reach your target.

The feast actually is supposed to be Eid at the end of Ramadan

      
 Those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) - Islamic Monotheism), and whose hearts find rest in the remembrance of Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD), Verily, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest. (Rad 13:28)

  Iftar parties have become an important part of Muslim culture       
          
Is it time for iftar, (An Iftar party).

"Where is the meat? We aren't going to have enough for everyone."

His/Her eyes fell on Coconut dates, Kebab, biryani, samusa, huge chocolate cake, Jalebi and some sandwiches, Prawn Tandoori, roasted
Duck, ‘pi pak’, ketam goreng berempah and laksa johor, Gullah (fish balls), kulhi boakibaa (fishcake), and foniboakiba (a flour cake), hot dogs,
 Pizza, chicken nuggets. (Stop! is this iftar or parting)?
(time of the year to gain more weight lol).

Iftar parties have become an important part of Muslim culture, which unfortunately encourages the following

    Too much food
    Too much preparation time
    Insisting that guests eat more by almost harassing them
    Overeating
    Wastage of food since no food rescue programs are organized

 Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) encouraged us to invite each other for Iftar and he was a generous man.
He was not always poor. Initially he was married to the richest lady of Makkah and in the later part of his life,
He had enough wealth to sacrifice as much as 70-plus camels during his last Hajj. But he chose to live simply and eat less.

 An Iftar party must not defy Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) and the spirit of Ramadan.
Those of us blessed to enjoy a table full of a variety of foods when we break our fasts perhaps don’t consider this.
Maybe we feel entitled to eat our fill. But for many, this is clearly not an option.

Feed those in need. Muslims are made to create a bond between them and Allah. They are encouraged to do good deeds like helping the poor and the needy by giving them food, care, and love. Muslims often relish buying gifts for their family and friends.

Ramadan, in which we are supposed to experience hunger to achieve a better connection with Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD)’s Creation and with the Creator Himself, somehow has become a marathon feast. It is self-defeating. Those who cook are overburdened and do not have enough energy left for extra worship recommended for Ramadan. There is no Hadith about feasting at Iftar. There is no Sunnah of food celebrations and special cooking at Iftar throughout the life of the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam), and his Companions. May Allah be pleased with all of them? The feast actually is supposed to be Eid at the end of Ramadan not at the end of each day of fasting.

Ramadan is an honorable and blessed month, and the rewards for generosity are multiplied in it. Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) said,

“The best charity is that given in Ramadan.”

It is a time for spiritual renewal through fasting, a time to remember the poor and hungry, and a time to come together as a community

Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) who encouraged us to fill only one-third of our stomachs even on normal days, ate far less in Ramadan.

Do a family Shura (consultation) before Ramadan and develop a menu of simplicity. Reduce the burden of cooking and divide it up across all family members.

"The Messenger of Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) would break his fast with ripe dates before he would pray.

If those were not available, he would eat dried dates. If those were not available, he would drink some water."

            Through fasting, a Muslim experiences hunger and thirst, and sympathizes with those in the world who have little to eat every day.
   
           Through increased devotion, Muslims feel closer to their Creator, and recognize that everything we have in this life is a blessing from Him.
   
          Through increased charity, Muslims develop feelings of generosity and good-will toward others. Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) once said, "A man's wealth is never diminished by charity."
   
         Through self-control, a Muslim practices good manners, good speech, and good habits.
   
       Through changing routines, Muslims have a chance to establish healthier lifestyle habits -- particularly with regards to diet and smoking.
   
      Through family and community gatherings, Muslims strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and sisterhood, in their own communities and throughout the world.

Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) said: "love for your brother what you love for yourself".

It was the day of celebration and a day of rejoicing. There was an air of festivity in the streets of Madina. All the people, both young and old were dressed in their best clothes, especially for this special day of Ramadan Eid.

As it was time for early morning Ramadan Eid prayers everyone made their way to an open piece of land on the outskirts of the city of Madina. Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) arrived and led the prayers. After they had finished they all greeted each other and everyone was walking back home.  Children where playing, without a care in the world.

As Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) walked back home, he suddenly became aware of a little boy (Zuhair Bin Saghir) sitting by himself on the side of the path. The little boy was crying and looked very sad. Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam)) bent down and patted him on the shoulders and asked 'why are you crying?' 'Please leave me alone' sobbed the little boy. The boy didn't even see who was talking to him. The Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) ran his fingers through the boy's hair and very gently and kindly asked him again why he was crying. This time the boy said, 'My father was martyred fighting, and now my mother has married again and my stepfather does not want me to live at home any more. Today is Ramadan Eid and everyone is happy. All the children have new clothes and nice things to eat, but I don't have any clothes except what I am wearing. I have no food and I don't even have a place to live.

Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam)) said to him, 'I know how you feel, I lost both my mother and father when I was a little boy.' The boy was surprised to hear that it was an orphan who was comforting him, and when he looked up to his great surprise it was the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam)and he immediately jumped up to his feet out of love and respect.

Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said to him 'If I were to become your new father and my wife you new mother, and my daughter your new sister, would that make you feel better?' 'Oh yes, that would be the best thing in the world!' The boy started smiling. Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) took him home and gave him new clothes and good food on this beautiful day of Ramadan Eid. The boy indeed had a wonderful Ramadan Eid that day.

Imam Ali (R.A) Says: "He who helps you in your time of trouble is your brother."

There are seven people whom Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) will draw under His own shadow, on the day when there will be no other shadow; one of them a man who hath given alms and concealed it, so that his left hand knew not what his right hand did.

Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam)said, "It is indispensable for every Muslim to give alms." The companions asked, "But if he hath not anything to give?" He said, "If he hath nothing, he must do a work with his hand, by which to obtain something and benefit him; and give alms with the remainder." They said, "But if he is not able to do those work, to benefit him and give alms to others?" Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) said, "Then he should assist the needy and the oppressed." They asked, "What if he is not able to assist the oppressed?" He said, "Then he should exhort people to do well." They asked, "And if he cannot?" He said, "Then let him withhold himself from doing harm to people; for verily that is as alms and charity for him."

The people of the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) 's house killed a goat, and the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) enquired, "What remaineth of it?" Aisha R.A. said, "Nothing but its shoulder; for we have sent the rest to the poor and neighbors." Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) said, "The whole goat remaineth except its shoulder; that is, that remaineth which ye have given away, and what ye have kept in the house is frail."

The angels asked, "O Allah (God)! Is there anything of Thy creation stronger than rocks?" Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) said, "Yes; iron is stronger than rocks, for it breaketh them." The angels said, "O Lord! Is there anything of Thy creation stronger than iron?" Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) said, "Yes; fire is stronger than iron, for it melteth it." And the angels said O defender! Is there anything of Thy creation stronger than fire?" God said, "Yes; water overcometh fire; it killeth it and maketh it cold." Then the angels said, "O Lord! Is there anything of Thy creation stronger than water?" Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) said, "Yes; wind overcometh water: it agitateth it and putteth it in motion." They said, "O our cherisher! Is there anything in Thy creation stronger than wind?" Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) said, "Yes, the children of Adam, giving alms; that is, those who give with their right hands and conceal if from their left, they overcome all."

The most excellent of alms is that of a man of small property, which he has earned by Halaal labor, and from which he giveth as much as he is able.

Giving alms to the poor hath the reward of one alms; but that given to kindred hath two rewards; one, the reward of alms, the other the reward of helping relations.

A man's first duty should be to his own family, if poor.

Giving money to the poor is an emblem of Islam and a Sunna of the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) He was never asked for anything, except that he gave it, and he would give without fearing poverty. People said that he was more generous than the “sent wind” that brings the rain clouds

To benefit from the charity you give it is important to keep certain things in mind that will lead to good in this world the next.
Giving in secret

Al Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) says, "If you give alms openly, it is well, and if you hide it and give it to the poor, it is better for you" (Qur'an 2:271).

For a Muslim, charity is given to stave off miserliness and to draw nearer to Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD), if instead the donor seeks fame, then the act of charity becomes worthless.

Giving in secret is often better for the donor since it protects against insincerity, and it is better for the recipient as it maintains his dignity.

         Should we be giving openly?
          Sometimes it is better to give charity publicly, so that others will also do the same.
          However, you must be on guard against any hypocritical notions.

         Another danger of this is offending the dignity of the poor person.
         It may be hurtful to him to be seen to be needy.

Scholars say that if someone is asking for charity publicly, there is no need to worry about offending him by also giving publicly.

                And avoid taunting and hurting
        
    Any good you have earned by giving in charity can be wiped away by taunting and hurting the recipient.

Allah said, "Do not make your charity worthless by taunting and injury." (2: 264)

Taunting is to remind a person of a favour you did to them, while hurting them is making it known to others.

Some scholars say that taunting means to take advantage of a person you donated money to, and hurting them is to make them feel ashamed of their poverty.

Another view is that taunting is to make your charity an excuse for behaving arrogantly.

The cure for this is to remember that giving charity is to give what is due to Allah, as He has made it obligatory to give Zakat.

It is important to think little of your donation in order to avoid pride which will make your good deed worthless.

Zakat is only a small percentage of your wealth, and to give only this is to be content with giving the bare minimum.

Even if you give more in addition to your Zakat, it would be better to look instead at the amount of wealth you are withholding, rather than at what you are giving with pride.

Give of what is good

Charity should be taken from the best of your wealth, and from what is dearest to you. Giving in charity is like giving to Allah Most High, and so only gives Him what is good.

Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) says: "Spend (in charity) of the good things that you earn" (Quran 2:267).

If the money you donate has been acquired dishonestly, it cannot be considered a good deed.

          Ongoing charity (Sadaqah Jariya)

           These four Sayings of Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) contain the summary of Islamic law.

    Actions will be judged according to intentions.
  
     The proof of a Muslim's sincerity is that he payeth no heed to that which is not his business.
   
     No man is a true believer unless he desires for his brother that which he desires for himself.

    That which is lawful is clear, and that which is unlawful likewise, but there are certain doubtful things between the two from which it is well to abstain.

   "When you see a blessing in your life, you say "Alhamdu lillah"

    And you say "Alhamdu lillah" because you just said "Alhamdu lillah"

   And you say "Alhamdu lillah" because you were able to say "Alhamdu lillah"

   And you say "Alhamdu lillah because Allah SWT God gave you a chance to say "Alhamdu lillah

   And it goes on and on and on..."

Allah the Almighty has laid down religious duties, so do not neglect them. He has set boundaries, so do not over step them. He has prohibited some things, so do not violate them; about some things He was silent-out of compassion for you, not forgetfulness, so seek not after them

"..Be mindful of Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD), you will find Him before you. Get to know Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) in prosperity and He will know you in adversity. Know that what has passed you by was not going to befall you; and that what has befallen you was not going to pass you by. And know that victory comes with patience, relief with affliction, and ease with hardship." - Muhammadur Rasulullah

  My friend We should think of others that are less fortunate than ourselves in this beautiful month of Ramadan.


 Not everyone has such a wonderful Iftar (At iftar there is no Kebab, biryani, samusa, huge chocolate cake, Jalebi and some sandwiches,

It is the month of Fasting and thinking of those less fortunate than us, please take a moment to stop and think of those who are less fortunate than ourselves by following the Sunnah of our Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam)

There is more joy in giving than in receiving”,

 “When we do things out of love, we express the truth of our being; indeed, we have been created not for ourselves but for the worship of Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) and our neighbour/friends/needy brothers and sisters etc.

Every time when for love of Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) we share our goods with our neighbour/friends/needy in need, we discover that the fullness of life comes from love and all is returned to us as a blessing in the form of peace, inner satisfaction and joy.”

Muslims at this time of year think about what is important to them.
Think about what is worthwhile in your life.
What gives your life meaning, what is important to you?

As Muslims think about people who do not have enough food to eat or drink, we pray for those people around the world who are hungry and thirsty all the time, because there is not enough food for them to eat, or clean water to drink.

Why are there so many poor children in the world?
Because Allah SWT (God)'s people have forgotten to give alms to the poor/needy

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

May Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) make our efforts sincere and keep us all on the straight path...........

Ilm al-Ghaib- (the Knowledge of the Unseen)

Not a leaf falls but He knows it.    Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) says in Surat al-Jinn, “He is Knower of the Unseen, and does not divulge His Unseen to anyone – except a Messenger with whom He is well pleased.” (72:26-27)

 “Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) acquaints His Messengers with what He wishes of His Unseen because the Messengers are supported by miracles, some of which include being acquainted with some unseen matters. They included ‘Isa, peace be upon him, whom Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) acquainted with some unseen matters by means of revelation as the Almighty says, ‘I will tell you what you eat and what you store up in your homes.’ (3:49)”

Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD)  could impart certain details of the unseen to some of the friends of Allah (awliyâ')'--this is accepted from him, since it is something logically possible and its occurrence has been documented, it being among the countless miracles [Karamat] that have taken place over the ages.

The possibility of such knowledge is amply attested to by what the Quran informs us about Khidr (Allah bless him and give him peace), and the account related of Abu Bakr Siddiq (Allah Most High be well pleased with him) that he told of his wife being pregnant with a boy, and thus it proved; or of 'Umar (Allah Most High be well pleased with him), who miraculously perceived [n: the Muslim commander] Sariyah and his army who were in Persia, and while on the pulpit in Medina giving the Friday sermon, he said, 'O Sariyah, the mountain!' warning them of the enemy ambush intending to exterminate the Muslims. [Abu Bakr ibn al-`Arabi said of this incident: "It constitutes a tremendous rank and an evident gift from Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD and it is present in all of the righteous incessantly until the Day of Resurrection." (Ibn al-`Arabi,

Or the rigorously authenticated (Sahih) hadith that the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) said of 'Umar (Allah Most High be well pleased with him),

“‘He is of those who are spoken to [i.e. preternaturally inspire].'

In its abstract sense, there are two kinds of Knowledge (or learning); the one which is taught in Madrasahs, school, colleges and universities (in the progressive order). For a lay-man as well as for the majority of the populace this is what constitutes the knowledge and it is believed to be sufficient to satisfy our material quest and urge in this behalf.
However, there is yet another branch of knowledge which is taught and acquired directly or straightaway through the divine agency, with the functional audio-visual aids, such as books, papers, pens or such-like paraphernalia, needing neither the teaching institutes, such as schools, colleges, universities, etc. nor the professional teachers and degree holders. This is the transcendental or divine sector of knowledge, which in Quranic terminology is known as 'lm-il-Ghayb" or the "Knowledge of the Unseen" (Surah Kahf: Verse 65) and which constitutes one of the fundamental tenets of Islamic belief. In fact, the belief and unbelief in the Unseen (Ghaib) is the distinguishing mark of a person being a Muslim or a Heathen.

This is the branch of knowledge which is super human in nature surpassing the human intellect as also the five proverbial senses on their own. The Knowledge of the Unseen ('lm-il-Ghayb) is superior to and dominant over all other knowledge in any field of human activity, defying all methods of imparting and receiving education and knowledge. This is essentially an emblem of Divine Grace bestowed upon the chosen servants of Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) , like the gentle blissful rain showered upon the hearts and minds of the esteemed recipients on earth.

Those who believe (in the Oneness of  Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD)  - Islamic Monotheism), and whose hearts find rest in the remembrance of  Allah SWT (God), Verily, in the remembrance of Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) do hearts find rest. (Rad 13:28

The enforcement of Muslim Brotherhood is the greatest social ideal of Islam. On it was based Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) sermon on his last pilgrimage and Islam cannot be completely realized until this ideal is achieved. '

O, You who believe! Be upright for Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) witnesses to justice; and do not let your hatred of a people move you to a position where you are unjust.
 Be just, that is closer to piety. Be mindful of Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD)! Verily Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) is well informed concerning all that you do. [Quran 4:135]

Two concepts namely "Ilm al-Ghaib" (the Knowledge of the Unseen) and "Ilm al-Kitab" (the knowledge of the Book) which both seem to be confusing in many people's mind

            "Ilm al-Ghaib" (the Knowledge of the Unseen)

  The original meaning of "Ghaib" in Arabic is "that which has been concealed", and it is with this meaning which has appeared in the Holy Quran (4:34, 12:52, etc.) It signifies a meaning opposite to "Hadar" which means "present to the senses", and thus denotes with things to the external world (i.e., Ma'lumat; known things). This opposition of Ghaib / Hadar (unseen/present) should not be confused with the opposition of Ilm/Jahl (knowledge/ignorance) in which the latter pair is concerned with the internal act of knowing. So it may happen that something is "Ghaib" in the dimension of time which does not exist now but it will be or it was; or in the dimension of place that is the knowledge of something which is located elsewhere but not here.

The concept of the Unseen pertains to what is supra-sensory and metaphysical or even meta-cosmic. In this sense, the past, as well as the future and everything beyond ordinary human senses are all included in the concept of the Unseen, provided that some concrete indications have not been manifest. However, in a narrower sense of the concept, the Unseen pertains only to the future and what I intend here to concentrate on is the tidings Allah SWT (God)’s Messenger gave of certain future events.

    Regarding Hazrat Adam (Alaihi salaam) and the Angels, it is said: “He (Allah) taught the names (nature and qualitative attributes) of all the things and placed them before the Angels”. (Surah Baqarah: Verse 31)
   
Regarding Hazrat Dawud (Alaihi salaam), it is said, “He (Allah) gave Dawud power and wisdom and taught him whatever (else) He willed.” (Surah Baqarah: Verse 251)
   
In respect of the ilm- Ghaib to Hazrat Suleiman (Alaihi salaam), it is said, “O People! We have been taught the speech of the birds, and on us has been bestowed (a little of) all things.” (Surah Naml: Verse 16)
   
For Hazrat Lut (Alaihi salaam), it is said, “And to Lut we gave Judgment and Wisdom.” (Surah Anbiyaa: Verse 74)
   
About Hazrat Yaqoob (Alaihi salaam) it was said, “He was, by our instructions full of Knowledge (and experience), but most men know not.” (Surah Yusuf: Verse 96)
   
Hazrat Yaqoob (Alaihi salaam) himself told his sons about this blessing from Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) thus, “Did I not say to you, I know from Allah that which you know not.” (Surah Yusuf: Verse 96)
   
About Hazrat Yusuf (Alaihi salaam), it is said, “When Yusuf attained his full manhood, we gave him Power and Knowledge; thus do we reward those who do the right things.” (Surah Yusuf: Verse 22)
   
Regarding Hazrat Musa (Alaihi salaam), it is said, “When he reached full age and was firmly established (in life), we bestowed on him Wisdom and Knowledge.” (Surah Qasas: Verse 140)
   
It is said about Hazrat Khidr (Alaihi salaam): “So they found one of our servants on whom we had bestowed Mercy from ourselves and whom we had taught knowledge (of special significance) from Our Own Presence.” (Surah Kahf: Verse 65)

These verses of the Holy Quran make it clear that Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD)  the Almighty bestowed the Knowledge of the Unseen (Ghaib) on His chosen servants, but is unfortunate that most people do not know this; on the contrary, even they refuse to believe it without realizing the consequence thereof! These pious souls, at times on their own, disclosed this Divine bestowment in order to convince the people and clear their doubts and put them on the right track of faith and Belief.

    For example, Hazrat Isa (Alaihi salaam) spoke to his followers thus, “And I declare to you whatever you eat and whatever you store in your houses.” (Surah Ale Imran: Verse 49) (It meant that whatever they had eaten in the houses – within four walls – and whatever they had preserved therein was well known to the Prophet of Allah.
   
On another occasions, Hazrat Yusuf (Alaihi salaam) spoke to his fellow prisoners before telling them the meaning of their dreams. He said, “Before any food comes to you, I shall surely reveal to you the truth and meaning of this. It is due to the knowledge bestowed upon me by Allah that I have to reveal to you what you did not know.” (Surah Yusuf: Verse 37)

These verses reveal that Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) the Almighty has bestowed ilm- Ghaib to His chosen Apostles. To deny this, amounts to the denial and rejection of the Holy Quran itself. This is not an ordinary or routine knowledge. Elaborate precautionary and protective measures are adopted before such messages relating to the “Unseen” are dispatched. Special angels are sent (on earth) who stay around the Apostles, on whom the Knowledge of the Unseen (ilm -I -Ghaib) is bestowed. (Surah Jinn: Verse 26)

The grant of lm-il-Ghayb is admitted by a great honour and whosoever of the Apostles is bestowed this Unique Divine blessing become the holders of great Divine Treasure. However, there is no uniform and set pattern of Divine Message transmitted to each recipient in accordance to their status.

According to the Holy Quran the status and nature of responsible of the Apostles vary from one to another. “Those Apostles, we bestowed with gifts (endowed with ranks, etc.) as willed by Allah.” (Surah Baqarah: Verse 253) Likewise the grant of ’ilmil-Ghaybi to Prophets varies according to their nature of assignment relating to their prescribed mission.

The story of Hazrat Musa and Khidr (alayhim salaam) so vividly described in the Holy Quran explains this aspect of the proposition. Hazrat Musa met Khidr (alayhim salaam) and requested him to enlighten him with the specific knowledge which Allah bestowed on him. Hazrat Khidr (Alaihi salaam) accepted, but advised Hazrat Musa (Alaihi salaam) to be patient and not to utter any word until he would permit him to do so. Whatever Hazrat Khidr (Alaihi salaam) did was beyond the understanding of Hazrat Musa (Alaihi salaam).

The promise of keeping silence on events taking place before his eyes was too much for Hazrat Musa (Alaihi salaam) to sustain and at last (he broke the silence) Hazrat Khidr (Alaihi salaam) revealed the secrets of the events. Hazrat Khidr (Alaihi salaam) did not keep him in his company any more. Details of the story is found in the Holy Quran (Surah Kahf: Verse 65-82) this clearly shows that the nature of Ilmil-Ghaybi even to Prophets of Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) was not uniform nor of equal measure.

The knowledge of the Unseen is, first of all, with Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD). This is evident from some Quranic verses, such as the following:

            With Him are the keys of the Unseen, none knows them but He. He knows whatever is in the earth and in the sea.
Not a leaf falls but He knows it. There is not a grain in the darkness of the earth nor anything wet, fresh or dry but is in a Manifest Record. (6:59)

            Say, [O Muhammad]: ‘I do not tell you that with me are the treasures of Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) , nor that I do not know the Unseen, nor do I tell you that I am an angel. I but follow what is revealed to me’. Say: ‘Are the blind and the one who sees equal? Will you not then reflect’? (6:50)

            Say: ‘I have no power over any benefit or harm to myself except as Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) wills. If I had the knowledge of the Unseen, I should increase well for myself and no evil should have touched me. I am but a Warner and a bringer of glad tidings unto people who believe’. (7:188)

These verses clearly state that the knowledge of the Unseen is with Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD). Does this, however, mean that no one can, by Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD)’s leave, obtain any part of the knowledge of the Unseen?

Can no one obtain any part of the knowledge of the Unseen?

Everything man has, like health, knowledge, and power, essentially belongs to Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) and is, accordingly, from Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD). We have no power except that with which He has endowed us. We have no knowledge except what He has taught us or what He has enabled us to learn.
 Likewise, we see through His enabling us to see and hear through His enabling us to hear. Since this is so, the verses do not absolutely exclude man from possessing, by God’s leave, some knowledge of the Unseen.

The concept of the Unseen does not only relate to the future, it also relates to the past.
The Quran presents the stories of past nations as the stories of the Unseen.
Historical researches make us informed of the past.

Many people can, by Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD)’s will, get some glimpse of the future, partly or generally, in dreams or through some other ways which it is not proper to explain here.

The Quran, like the universe and man, is an organic entity, each verse being interrelated to the others. So, the first and foremost interpreter of the Quran is the Quran itself. In which case, the complete and true understanding of a verse depends on the understanding of other relevant verses. As a principle of creed, and as explicitly declared in the verses mentioned above, the knowledge of the Unseen, like power, seeing, and hearing, belongs to Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD). However, He reveals the knowledge of some of the Unseen to a Messenger whom He has chosen, as declared in the following verse:

            [Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) alone is] the knower of the Unseen and He does not disclose His Unseen to anyone, except a Messenger whom He has chosen. (72:26-7)

Normally, no one can know exactly what will take place in future, even a few minutes later. Scientists are not certain about even natural events which take place according to ‘deterministic’ laws; they state that they cannot say with certainty that the world will be in the same state as it is in now. Sociologists and historians have spoken about historical laws that they have claimed to be based on historical events or the flow of history but history has contradicted almost all of them including historians and those who favor some notion of continual progress in history like Marx, Weber, Fiche, Hegel, Herder and others.

The knowledge of the future is only with Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD). However, He may favor whomever He pleases with some part of this knowledge. If a man is convinced about the news he gives concerning the future, he can only be a Messenger of Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD)


Proof from the Qur’an that the Prophet Muhammad [May Allah bless him and grant him peace] has been given the knowledge of Ghaib

Allah says in the Qur’an,

“These are the tidings of Unseen that we reveal to you in secret”.

Surah-Ale-Imran:-, verse 44.

“Nor will He disclose to you the secrets of the Unseen. But He chooses of His Apostles (For the purpose)”

Surah-Ale-Imran: verse 179.

“The Knower of Unseen reveals not His secret to anyone. Except to His chosen Messengers”.

Surah-Al-Jinn, verse 26.

“…Allah has sent down to you the Book and Wisdom and has taught to you what you did not know, and great is the grace of Allah upon you.”

Surah Al-Nisa:, Verse 113.

The Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam, upon him be peace and blessings, made numerous predictions about the future, and history has not contradicted them.
Like the information he gave about the past, his predictions are also to be found in the Quran and in books of Tradition.
   

I wonder at the mentality of a miser, fearing poverty he takes to stinginess and thus hastily pushes himself head- long into a state of want and destitution, he madly desires plenty and ease, but throws it away without understanding.
In this world he, of his own free will, leads the life of a beggar and in the next world he will have to submit an account like the rich.

I wonder at the arrogance of a haughty and vain person.

 Yesterday he was only a drop of semen and tomorrow he will turn into a corpse.

I wonder at the man who observes the Universe created by Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) and doubts His Being and Existence.

I wonder at the man who sees people dying around him and yet he has forgotten his end.

 I wonder at the man who understands the marvel of genesis of creation and refuses to accept that he will be brought back to life again.

 I wonder at the man who takes great pains to decorate and to make comfortable this mortal habitat and totally forgets his permanent abode.

The Creator and Benefactor of the universe to whom everything and every being returns.
 He is the model of perfection and glory, not by any means deficient. He is Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) who is described by Ibrahim (Alaihi salaam).

Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam

  The clothes in which he breathed his last breath had many patches.
Speak the truth, keep your promises.
Perhaps the best way to understand the extent of Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam)’s truthfulness and trustworthiness is to look at the effect his teachings had on his Companions. Each Companion was an embodiment of trustworthiness. By virtue of this and other laudable virtues, cities and states submitted to Islam.

Noble life and teachings of the greatest man in human history who is also the most revered, the most honored, the most loved, the most remembered, the most influential, the most praiseworthy, the most successful, supreme trail-blazer of humanity.

Certainly, Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) and His Angels do send greetings upon the Prophet, O those who believe; you too, send sincere greetings and salutations upon him. Muhammad SAW

Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) s Messenger never thought of concealing even a word of the Qur’an. In fact, we read in the Qur’an several Divine mild admonitions for a few actions of his. If he wrote it, as some mistakenly claim, why would he have included such verses?

Even Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam)’s enemies did not accuse him of lying after he proclaimed his prophet hood.

Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) is a trustworthy person. The Makkan’s recognize him so. If he claims prophet hood, he must be telling the truth, for no one has ever heard him tell a lie.”

Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) always encouraged truthfulness, as can be seen in his words as recorded in the following traditions:

Promise me six things and I will promise you Paradise: Speak the truth, keep your promises, fulfill your trusts, remain (sexually) chaste, don’t look at what is unlawful, and avoid what is forbidden. (Ahmad)

Abandon what arouses your suspicions and follow what is certain. Truthfulness gives satisfaction; lying causes suspicion.
Seek truthfulness even if it might bring you to ruin. (Hindi 3:344)

Always be truthful, for truthfulness leads to righteousness, and righteousness leads to Paradise. If you are always truthful and seek truthfulness, Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) records you as such. Never lie, for lying leads to shamefulness and shamefulness leads to Hell. If you insist on lying and seek deceit, Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) records you as such. (Al Bukhari).

What sort of attitude did Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) (peace be upon him) have toward the life of this world? Did he like it, or did he feel disgusted by it? The answer is that he knew it well, and appreciated it in a healthy and sound way, but he was preoccupied with what is far greater and nobler. His full attention was focused on Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD)’s glory. Hence, prayer was his great love and fasting was the stage where his soul found its fulfillment. He looked up to what was with Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD), knowing that it was far superior to any position ambitious people aspire to attain.

Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) was known as a truthful and trustworthy person long before Islam. He was known throughout Makkah as “Al-Siddiq Al-Amin“: the Truthful, Trustworthy one, and a title he retained even by those who disbelieved in him after he declared his prophet hood.

Surely this is a reason why he was chosen by Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) to be a prophet, so that he would devote himself totally to delivering the message truthfully. He was so concerned about his duty that he would repeat the verses while Gabriel A.S. was reciting them to him. Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) finally revealed:

{Do not rush your tongue in an attempt to hasten [your memorization of] the Revelation: We shall make sure of its safe collection and recitation. When we have recited it, repeat the recitation and we shall make it clear.} (Al-Qiyamah 75:16–19)

As the Quran was given to him as a trust, he conveyed it to people in the best way possible. He dedicated his life to this sacred cause, constantly aware of his responsibility.

In the last year of his life, (Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) when he was delivering the Farewell Pilgrimage sermon at Mount Arafat, he reiterated the commandments of Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) once more. At the end of each sentence, he told the people: “In the near future, they will ask you about me.”

He then would ask them if he had conveyed the message to them, to which they responded, each time with great enthusiasm: “Yes, you have conveyed it!” He then would call upon Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) to witness their words

Perhaps the best way to understand the extent of Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) truthfulness and trustworthiness is to look at the effect his teachings had on his Companions. During the caliphate of Umar ibn Al-Khattab Radiyallaahu Anhu, the Byzantine Emperor set out to recapture the Syrian city of Hums. The commander of the Muslim armies in Syria decided to evacuate the city, for his forces were vastly outnumbered.

He had the non-Muslim population assembled and announced: “We collected the protection tax from you because we had to defend you. Since we cannot defend you against the coming Byzantine assault, we are returning the tax we collected.” This was done. Pleased with the Muslim administration, Christian priests and Jewish rabbis flocked to the churches and synagogues to pray that Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) would cause the Muslim army to be successful.

Through his truthfulness, trustworthiness, and other laudable virtues, the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) left an indelible mark on people of all ages. His every word and deed proclaimed that he was sent to guide people to the truth, to bring them out of the darkness of ignorance and savagery, slavery and immorality, into the light of knowledge, high morality, love, compassion and true freedom.

He wanted his wives to accept this pattern of life. He explained to them that anyone who covets the riches and adornments of this world has no place with him: “Prophet! Say to your wives: If you desire the life of this world and its charms, I shall provide for you and release you in a becoming manner; but if you desire Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) and His Messenger and the life of the hereafter, know that Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) has readied great rewards for those of you who do good.” (33: 28-29) They, however, looked up to what he aspired. They worked hard to rise to the same level of keen worship and to strengthen their bonds with Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD).

Jawairiyah Radiyallaahu Anha., his wife, reports that one morning he left her rooms after having finished his dawn prayers. She was in her position of prayer. He came back in midmorning to find her in the same place. He said: “Have you been in the same place since I left?” She answered in the affirmative. She spent the whole time in prayer and glorification of Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD). He said: “After I left you I said four sentences three times. Had these been weighed against all that you said today, they would have proved to be weightier: Limitless is Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) in His glory and praise; as many times as His creatures; as often as He pleases; as weighty as His Throne; and as plentiful as the ink needed to write His words.”

Abu Hurayrah Radiyallaahu Anhu: Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam)as saying: “When I say, ‘Limitless is Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) in His glory; all praise belongs to Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD); there is no deity other than Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD); Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD)  is supreme’, I feel happier than if I would have everything under the sun.” His happiness as he repeated these words and contemplated their meanings was greater than being in possession of the entire world. Suppose he owns such a vast wealth of gold and silver: What would he do with it? He said that if he were to have as much as Mount Uhud in gold, he would have given it all away within three days, giving it to the poor. Should he be left with something after having given every poor person his needs, he would leave the balance for potential disasters, which are always happening in this world. On more than one occasion he owned sheep and cattle to fill a whole valley, and he gave it all away within the day. His love was directed elsewhere: it was a love of God and His book, the Qur’an. He loved to address Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) with passion, seeking His pleasure.

How did he feel toward the Qur’an, the book Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) revealed to Him containing His last message to mankind? Reflect on this appeal he used to say: “My Lord, I am your servant, son of two servants of yours, and subject to your control; my forelock is in your hand; your judgment of me is unquestioned; whatever you determine for me is just. I appeal to You by every name You have called Yourself, or mentioned in Your book, or taught to any servant of Yours, or withheld along with whatever knowledge You keep for Yourself, to make the great Qur’an my heart’s spring season, and the light of my eyesight. Make it the cure of my grief and the healer of my worries.”

How splendid! Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD)’s revelations were the very foundation of his message. Hence, it was his permanent companion. When he traveled, he crossed deserts reading it in his prayers, and when he stayed at home, his consciousness was weaved of Quranic meanings.

After the fall of Mecca, more than one million square miles of land lay at his feet. The Lord of Arabia repaired his own shoes, fixed his woolen garments, milked the goats, swept the hearth, and kindled the fire. The entire town of Madinah, where he lived, grew wealthy in the later days of his life. Everywhere gold and silver was in abundance and yet in those days of prosperity many weeks would pass without a fire being kindled in the hearth of his house, his food being water and dates or bread and vinegar. His family would go hungry many nights because they could not get anything to eat in the evening. He slept on rough bed, with a palm mat after a long busy day. He spent most of his nights in prayer, often bursting with tears before his Creator to grant him strength to continue his duties. As the reports go, his voice would get choked from weeping. The house that spread light to the whole world was in darkness because there was no oil in the lamp. He did not accept a salary from the state. He had to work to earn money, yet during his busy day the time to work was very little and his earning was very humble. On the day of his death, his only assets were a few coins, a part of which went to satisfy a debt and the rest were given to a needy person who came to his house for charity. He denied his family any inheritance from the Islamic State. The clothes in which he breathed his last breath had many patches.

Circumstances changed, but (Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) the Prophet of Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) did not. In victory or defeat, in power or hardship, in "prosperity" or poverty, he was the same man, disclosed the same character. He remained "Al-Ameen", the truthful, the honest, and the poor.

IT IS REALLY A MATTER OF PRIDE THAT OUR Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam)HAS EVER BEEN KNOWN TO BE A TRUSTWORTHY AND TRUTHFUL MAN EVEN AMONGST THOSE WHO DO NOT REPOSED THEIR FAITH IN HIM FROM HIS TIMES TILL DATE.
BUT THE MATTER OF SHAME IS THAT WE AS MUSLIMS AND THE FOLLOWERS OF HIS WORDS AND TEACHINGS ARE EITHER NOT HAVING THE VALUE OF THESE VALUES OR ARE LAGGING BEHIND IN UPHOLDING IT.
MAY ALLAH HELP US TO FOLLOW THE HOLY Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) IN OUR EVERY WALK OF LIFE IN LETTER AND SPIRITS, AAMEEN?

WAJABA AL-SHUKRU `ALAYNA - We shall ever give thanks for it

         “[Innama bu`ithtu rahmatun wa lam ub`athu `adhaban --]
           I was sent only as Mercy? I was not sent as a punishment.
                     Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam.

"Whoever recites salawat for me once, Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) recites salawat for him ten times, his ten mistakes are forgiven, and he is elevated ten degrees high"

     For some days they had been coming out of Yathrib to welcome him, but after waiting for him through the forenoon they went back disappointed.
On the day of his arrival, they had just returned to their homes when they heard a Jew, who was for some reason standing at a height, and who perceived Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) and his companions approaching in the distance, call aloud, ‘O ye Arabs, the one you have been awaiting is approaching.’ On hearing this Muslims were overjoyed, and, taking up their arms in a hurry, emerged from the city to welcome the illustrious traveler.

When Ansar had the first glimpse of Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam), their joy knew no bounds.
They felt that on them had been bestowed all the blessings of the here and the hereafter.
Bukhari has reported Bara’a bin Ahzab R.A. as saying that on no other occasion did he behold Ansar exhibiting such spontaneous joy as they did on the arrival of the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) in Yathrib.
Reported Anas bin Malik R.A. as saying:
‘The day the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) arrived in Medina we perceived as if the city had been illumined, and on the day that he died it seemed to us that we had never seen Medina so dark.’.

This is a well-known invocation of blessings and peace upon Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam)). Some of the words in it come from the Ansar who greeted the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) with outpourings of joy and acclamation when he entered Madina for his Emigration there.
May Allah forgive the dryness of our tongues and the obduracy of our hearts for the sake of His Beloved Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam)) who said: "I was sent only as Mercy? I was not sent as a punishment." [Innama bu`ithtu rahmatun wa lam ub`athu `adhaban --]

The full moon has risen over us

As long as there will be callers to Allah.

You are a sun; you are a full moon,

You are light upon light,

You are the quintessence of existence,

You are the lamp in every breast

ASHRAQA AL-BADRU `ALAYNA

FAKHTAFAT MINHU AL-BUDUR

MITHLA HUSNIK MA RA'AYNA

QATTU YA WAJH AL-SURUR

The full moon has risen over us

Eclipsing all other moons.

Such as your beauty we have never seen

No, never, O face of delight!

      

YA HABIBI YA MUHAMMAD

YA `ARUS AL-KHAFIQAYN

YA MU'AYYAD YA MUMAJJAD

YA IMAM AL QIBLATAYN

O My beloved, O Muhammad,

O bridegroom of the East and the West,

The one Allah vindicated and exalted,

O Imam of the Two Directions!

YA NABI SALAM `ALAYKA

YA RASUL SALAM `ALAYKA

YA HABIB SALAM `ALAYKA

SALAWATULLAH `ALAYKA

O Prophet, Peace be upon you.

O Messenger, Peace be upon you.

O Beloved, Peace be upon you.

The Blessings of Allah be upon you!

It is clear that he whom Allah satisfies his worldly needs has been truly blessed with Allah’s kindness and mercy. He also has been given security from all that he fears, and has attained the utmost protection from all harm and evils; indeed he is carried aboard the ship of salvation. This means he is secure from all things which create worries and needs, secure from poverty, debt, subjugation, weakness, disease, fear, and all other calamities and disasters; he has guaranteed that his worldly affairs will be upright and good. . And should he obtain, alongside this, forgiveness from the sins and salvation from the perils of the Day of Resurrection, so that he may enter Paradise in peace, he has most certainly guaranteed that his affairs in the Hereafter will be good and upright, too.

Among the greatest means of obtaining ease in times of hardship is invocating blessings and peace upon the Prophet of Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) which Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) himself clarified for us how in a tradition narrated by Ubayy bin Ka`b (may Allah be pleased with him), who said; ‘I said, ‘O Messenger of Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD), I supplicate often, so how much of my supplication should I devote to you?’ He replied, ‘as you desire’. I said, ‘a quarter of it?’ He said ‘as you desire, but if you were to increase upon this, it would be better for you.’ I said, ‘half of it?’ He said, ‘as you desire, but if you were to increase upon this, it would be better for you.’ I said, ‘two-thirds of it?’ He said again, ‘as you desire, but if you were to increase upon this, it would be better for you.’ Finally I said, ‘and if I dedicate my supplication in its entirety to you?’ He said, ‘then your needs will be satisfied, and your sins forgiven.’

  It is clear that he whom Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) satisfies his worldly needs has been truly blessed with Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD)’s kindness and mercy. He also has been given security from all that he fears, and has attained the utmost protection from all harm and evils; indeed he is carried aboard the ship of salvation. This means he is secure from all things which create worries and needs, secure from poverty, debt, subjugation, weakness, disease, fear, and all other calamities and disasters; he has guaranteed that his worldly affairs will be upright and good. . And should he obtain, alongside this, forgiveness from the sins and salvation from the perils of the Day of Resurrection, so that he may enter Paradise in peace, he has most certainly guaranteed that his affairs in the Hereafter will be good and upright, too.

Among the greatest means of obtaining ease in times of hardship is invocating blessings and peace upon the Holy Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam), which the Holy Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam) himself clarified for us how in a tradition narrated by Ubayy bin Ka`b (may Allah be pleased with him), who said; ‘I said, ‘O Messenger of Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD), I supplicate often, so how much of my supplication should I devote to you?’ He replied, ‘as you desire’. I said, ‘a quarter of it?’ He said ‘as you desire, but if you were to increase upon this, it would be better for you.’ I said, ‘half of it?’ He said, ‘as you desire, but if you were to increase upon this, it would be better for you.’ I said, ‘two-thirds of it?’ He said again, ‘as you desire, but if you were to increase upon this, it would be better for you.’ Finally I said, ‘and if I dedicate my supplication in its entirety to you?’ He said, ‘then your needs will be satisfied, and your sins forgiven.’

May Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) make our efforts sincere and keep us all on the straight path...........
