Whoeverrevives a Sunnah from my Sunnah

I Seek refuge in Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD), from theShaitan.

In the name ofAllah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.

Islam has twoprimary sources, the Quran, and the authentic Traditions of the Holy ProphetMuhammad (Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam), that explain and sometimes expand onthat of the Quran.

Bismillah Al-Hamdu lillah WA salatu WA Salamu 'alaRasulullah

The truth centers around and is based upon the Messenger (sallallaahu'alaihi wasallam)

And that which he was upon as well as that which thecompanions (radiyallaahu 'anhuma) were upon and not other than them.

If you LOVE the Messenger of Allah[peace be upon him] then...

REVIVE HIS SUNNAH!

From ar-Rabia' bin Suleiman (d. 270A.H.) who said: A man asked ash- Shafi about a Hadith of the Prophet - sallallaahu'alayhi WA sallam- then the man said to him: 'And what is your opinion?' Imamash- Shafi' trembled, shuddered and said: 'Which sky will shade me and whichearth will carry me if I narrate a Hadith from the Messenger of Allah - sallallaahu'alayhi WA sallam - and say an opinion other than that of the Hadith.' And hesaid: 'If you find a Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah - sallallaahu 'alayhi WAsallam - then follow it, and do not turn to the saying of anyone.

The Prophet’s way is the best way.

“Truly, in the Messenger of Allah [SAWS] you have a good example tofollow for the one who hopes for the Meeting with Allah and the Last Day andremembers Allah much.”

Simple deeds: immense rewards; wordsdefining many of the Sunnah of the Prophet (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam).

Despite their ease, we sometimesfall short in acting upon them, usually for no other reason but the need of areminder.

A reminder of both the deed and the promisedreward is what it takes for many of us to revive a Sunnah in our lives.

The Prophet (sallallaahu alayhiwasallam) says that Allah says,

"And My servant continues todraw nearer to Me with supererogatory (nawafil) deeds until I love him."(Bukhari).

The promise of Divine love iscertainly enough to motivate us to return to some of the neglected or forgottenSunnah of our Messenger (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam).

The most effective revival is tomake an effort to implement at least one Sunnah

And be an example to others. Nomatter how much we preach and write, in the end it is action that counts.

Following the Sunnah will help usincrease in good deeds.

“…Help you one another in Al-Birr and At-Taqwa(virtue, righteousness and piety);

But do not help one another in sinand transgression. And fear Allah. Verily, Allah is Severe in punishment.”

A few Sunnah we can revive everyday:

Purification

Siwak: - A twig that earns thepleasure of Allah And was beloved to His Messenger (sallallaahu alayhiwasallam).

When Aisha (radiyallaahu anha) wasasked about the first thing he would do upon entering his home,

She replied, "When he enteredhis house, the first thing he would do was to use the Siwak.”(Muslim)”.

The Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu alayhiwasallam) said, "Siwak cleanses the mouth and pleases the Lord."-(Bukhari).

If you have one, use it now andplease your Lord. Carry some with you and gift them to those you love.

The Messenger r said, "Whoeverrevives a Sunnah from my Sunnah

And the people practice it; she/hewill have the same reward of those who practice it without their rewarddiminishing…" [Sunan ibn Majah (209)].

Wudu before Sleeping: Want an angelto supplicate for you while you sleep?

The Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu alayhiwasallam) said,

"Purify these bodies, and Allah willpurify you. Whenever a slave spends his night in a state of purification,

An angel spends his night within his(slave's) hair

And he does not turn over during thenight except that he [the angel] says:

O Allah, forgive Your slave, for he went tosleep in a state of purification.”

Prayer

As Hazrat Ibn Mas'ud R.A. said:

That the man who wishes to presenthimself as a Muslim in the Divine Court tomorrow on the Day of Judgment,

He should make sure to say prayersat a place where the prayer-call (azan) is given

(I.e. in the mosque), because AllahMost High has promulgated such Sunnah through our Prophet peace and blessings areupon him: which is guidance from one end to the other. Among them are thesecongregational prayers also.

If you start offering prayers in your ownhouses,

Just as so and so you will becomeone who forsake the prophetic Sunnah,

And just understand that if you give up theHoly Prophet's peace and blessings be upon him Sunnah, you will go astray.

Performing Voluntary Prayers inOne's House:

Jabber related that the Messenger ofAllah (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) said:

"If one of you has finished the prayer inhis mosque, let him make a portion of his prayers for his home, As Allah willcertainly put goodness in his home from his prayer." (Muslim).

In another hadith,

"A person's Salah in his houseis better than his Salah in my mosque, except for the fard (obligatory) Salah."(Abu Dawud).

Going Early to the Jumu’ah Prayer:

Abu Hurairah narrated that theMessenger of Allah (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) said,

"Whoever does ghusl on Friday like ghuslfor Janabah?

Then goes to the prayer (in thefirst hour, i.e., early), it is as if he sacrificed a camel.

Whoever goes in the second hour, it is as ifhe sacrificed a cow;

Whoever goes in the third hour, itis as if he sacrificed a horned ram;

Whoever goes in the fourth hour, it is as ifhe sacrificed a hen;

And whoever goes in the fifth hourit is as if he offered an egg.

When the imam comes out, the angelscome to listen to the khutba.”

Siwak- ‘Arrack’ Tree

Using the Siwak was something theProphet (sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) loved to do,

And he urged his Ummah to do,whether at home, at the Masjid, or alone.

Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleasedwith him) reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)said:

“Were it not for the fact that I did not wantto make things too hard for my ummah,

I would have commanded them to usethe Siwak at every time of prayer.” (Al-Bukhari, 2/299 and Muslim, 1/151).

According to another report narratedby al-Bukhari, he said: “…at every time of making Wudu’.”

‘Aisha was asked what the Messengerof Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did when he first camehome.

She said, “When he entered hishouse, the first thing he would do was to use the Siwak.”(Reported by Muslim,1/220).

When getting up from sleep.

Hudhayfa ibn al-Yamane (may Allah be pleasedwith him) reported that when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be uponhim) got up during the night, he would clean his mouth thoroughly with the Siwak.(Reported by al-Bukhari, 1/98 and Muslim, 1/220)

Here’s another hadith regarding the Siwakand its spiritual as well as physical effects.

As soon as the Messenger of Allah (sallallaahualaihi wa-sallam) got up for Qiyam al-Layl,

He would brush his teeth with a Siwakand perform Wudu, he (sallallaahu alaihi wa-sallam) said:

“When one of you gets up to pray at night,let him use a Siwak (to clean his teeth),

Because when he recites during theprayer, the angel puts his mouth over his,

So that nothing leaves his mouth butwill enter into the angel’s mouth.”

Have you noticed people stepping away when you start to talk?

Do people turn their cheek when you kiss themgoodbye?

Bad breath, Morning breathes, Garlic chutney, just plain old’ bad breath–

Problems that have plagued mankind since thedawn of time,

And for which solutions are toutedaplenty. Electric toothbrushes, mouthwash, breath mints… the companiesproducing them make pretty brisk business!

For Muslims the issue is moreserious than for others, since the importance of overall hygiene –

And specifically oral hygiene – isstrongly emphasized in the Sunnah of our beloved Rasool (sallallaahu ‘alayhi wasallam).

And as with everything else, the best ofsolutions lies not in the latest bacteria-fighting invention, but in the Qur’anand Sunnah.

So what, you ask, is the solutionpresented to us 1400 years ago? It is called… the Siwak.

Basically, it’s a twig taken from certainkinds of trees and usually available at your local masjid,

Islamic centre, Halaal-imports/ exports/ meat/corner store, and generous uncles who always have a spare in their shalwar kames/coatpocket

In another Hadith the Holy Prophetpeace and blessings be upon him says: -

"He, who ate legitimate (Halaal)things and acted upon the Sunnah and saved people from mischiefs, Will enter Paradise.” So a man said: “O Apostle of Allah! Such menare too many these days".

He replied, "They will also be there inthe time after me".

Use both a toothbrush and a miswakin a 24-hour cycle… it would just mean our breath would be super-duper sweetsmelling, InshaAllah!

In one Hadith the Holy Prophet peaceand blessings be upon him tells the Companions?

"You happen to be in such atime that if anyone of you leaves even one-tenth of what you have been orderedto do, he will be ruined.

Then will come such a time that ifanyone accomplishes even one-tenth of what the people have been ordered to do,he will be absolved."

This Hadith is very encouraging forthose whom Allah Most High has granted the grace to act upon His religion inany degree.

They should not give up theiraction, considering it to be small and scanty. It is usually a very greatdeception of the Satan.

One should continue to act upon the Sunnah asmuch as one can.

Who knows which act of ours mightplease Allah whereby we might succeed and reach the destination safely?

We should be staunchly active in theSunnah method,

For the Holy Prophet peace and blessings beupon him has said:

"I leave among you two things. As long asyou keep hold of them,

You will not go astray: one isAllah's Book,

i.e., the holy Quran, and the other is the Sunnahof Allah Apostle.”

The words in another tradition are:"I am leaving among you two heavy things.

As long as you keep grasping them, you willnot deviate:

One is Allah's Book and the other ismy Sunnah.

Whenever the clutch of the Sunnah is left,there will be sheer deviation.

From Hasan al-Basri (d.110 A.H.) whosaid:

Statements cannot be correct exceptwith actions;

Statements and actions cannot becorrect except with an intention;

And statements, actions and anintention cannot be correct except according to the Sunnah.

Follow the paths of guidance and thefew, who follow it,

And it will not harm you.

Beware of the paths of misguidanceand do not be deceived by the large number of those destroyed.

When it Rains

When rain descends from the sky, itis your chance to turn to Allah,

Asking Him for everything you desirefrom the good of this life and the Hereafter, for yourself and those beloved toyou. The Prophet (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) said,

"Two are the du’aa that isnever returned: the du’aa made when the prayer is being called, and at the timeof rainfall." (Abu Dawud).

Du’aa upon hearing thunder:

Subhanaha alladhi yusabbihur- ra'dubi hamdihi wal malaa'ikatu min khifaatih

'How perfect He is, (The One) whomthe thunder declares His perfection with His praise, as do the angels out offear of Him.'

During Rainfall:

Allahumma sayyiban naaf'ian

O Allah, may it be a beneficial raincloud

After Rain:

Mutirna bi Fadhlil-lahi WARahmatih

We have been given rain by the graceand mercy of Allah

After Drinking Milk

Even in drinking milk, we have anopportunity to earn reward through following the Sunnah.

Rinsing mouth: Ibn Abbas narratedthe Prophet (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) drank some milk then called for somewater.

Once he got the water he rinsed hismouth then said, "It has fat." (Agreed Upon)

Du’aa after drinking milk:

'Allahumma barik Lana Fihi wa zidnaminhu'

'O Allah, bless it for us and giveus more of it.' (Abu Dawud, al-Tirmidhi).

With the Believers

Greeting youngsters with salaam:

Anas bin Malik (radiyallaahu anhu)used to always greet the children as he passed them,

Saying that he did so because he hadobserved the Prophet (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) doing the same.

Tell Someone You Love them for theSake of Allah

Anas reported that a man was withthe Prophet (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) when another man passed by and theformer said:

"O Messenger of Allah! I love this man(for Allah's sake).

“The Messenger of Allah (sallallaahualayhi wasallam) asked,

"Have you informed him?"He said, "No".

The Prophet (sallallaahu alayhiwasallam) then said,

"Tell him (that you lovehim)." (Abu Dawud).

What a beautiful Sunnah that is suretouch the heart of your beloved brother or sister and brightens up their day!

"Whoever revives a Sunnah frommy Sunnah and the people practice it, Will have the same reward of those whopractice it without their reward diminishing." (Sunan ibn Majah,).

Abu Hurairah t reported that theMessenger r said, "Whoever does not thank the people does not thankAllah." .

Subhanak Allaahumma WA bihamdika ash-haduanlaa ilaaha illaa anta astakhiruka WA atoobu ilayk

If I said anything correct, then it is from Allah (subhanahu WA Ta’aala),

And if I erred, then that is from me and Shaitan.

May Allah make us from the Companions of His Book and uniteus with His righteous slaves in the highest gardens of Paradise.Amen.

May Allah Subhanawataala grant us what is best in this worldand the next!

Action speaks louder then words my friend’s practice Islamthe way of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) did.

May Allah SubhanahuWA Ta’aala (GOD) help us to do that which He loves and which pleases Him?

To be initiated as a new Muslim.

One has to take Shahadah.

The Shahadah is a special sentence:

La illaha Illallaah WAMuhammadan Rasulullah

(There is no (other) Lord exceptAllah and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.

This phrase must be pronounced aloudin front of witnesses in order for someone to be initiated as a new Muslim.

This declaration of faith is calledthe 'Shahadah', a simple formula that all the faithful pronounce.

The significance of this declarationis the belief that the only purpose of life is to serve and obey Allah,

And this is achieved through theteachings and practices of the Beloved Prophet,

Sayidina Muhammad Mustafa (SallaAllahu Ta’aala alayhi WA Sallam)

La Ilaha Ill Allah Muhammadur RasoolAllah (There is no god only Allah, Muhammad is the Rasul (Messenger) of Allah)is also known as Kalimah Tayyab.

Kalimah Tayyab is the testificationsof faith in Islam. A person cannot be considered to be a Muslim if he/she doesnot believe in the words of this Kalimah.

To become a Muslim, a person mustsay this Kalimah with total belief. Another point about this Kalimah is thename given to it, which is Tayyab. Tayyab means Purity.

By uttering this Kalimah a person is purifiedfrom disbelief. An impure person becomes pure. This purification is spiritual.

The Messenger of Allah added,"There will come out of Hell (Fire) everyone who says: 'La ilaha illAllah,' and has in his heart good equal to the weight of a barley grain.

Then there will come out of Hell(Fire) everyone who says: ' La ilaha ill Allah,' and has in his heart goodequal to the weight of a wheat grain.

Then there will come out of Hell(Fire) everyone who says: 'La ilaha ill Allah,' and has in his heart good equalto the weight of an atom (or a smallest ant).

“When the death of Abu Talib approached,the Most Beloved Messenger of Allah came to him and said;

"Say: La ilaha ill Allah: aword with which I will be able to defend you before Allah." [SahihBukhari]

Now you have taken the Shahadah: What now?

Salah -Fard or obligatory prayers

Salah is to pray five times a day.

HOW MANY RAK'AS CONSTITUTE EACHSALAT?

The following is required in theFard or obligatory Salat.

Salat of Subbuh (Morning Prayer)

Two Rak’ah

Salat of Zuhr (noon prayer)

Four Rak’ah

Salat of Asr (afternoon prayer)

Four Rak’ah

Salat of Maghrib (after sunsetprayer)

Three Rak’ah

Salat of Isha' (late evening prayer)

Four Rak’ah

Make Wudu before every prayer.

First thing you have to learn is how to pray and before you pray you

Need to learn about ghusl/ Wudu.

Before you learn how to make Wudu you shouldknow to perform Istanja,

So what is Istanja?

WHATIS MEANT BY "ISTANJA"?

Istanja is an Islamic term forgetting rid of uncleanness.

It is a method of cleaning one's selfwith water after using the toilet.

We (Muslims) use water to cleanourselves after urination or after using a wiping device in the case ofdefecation.

WHICH HAND SHOULD BEUSED FOR ISTANJA?

The left hand should be used for allacts of wiping in rinsing during istanja.

It is a sin to use the right (which has to dowith eating and taking meals, shaking hands.

In Islam know, that for every good thing theright hand is used, and everything else the left if used.

If you have not performed Istanjaafter using the toilet before making Wudu, your Wudu is not valid,

And so your Salat will be invalid. It is alsoa sin

And there is punishment from Allahsubhanahu WA Ta’aala for neglecting it as is related in this Sahih hadith (mayAllah subhanahu WA Ta’aala protect us from such things, amen):

But who would want to keep on using toilet paper now that they havelearnt the benefit of performing istanja with water? He! He! He!

Wudu by itself is always arecommendable act in Islamic rituals, but it becomes obligatory in certaincircumstances.

One of such circumstances is thedaily ritual prayers;

And therefore it is important forevery Muslim, to know the method of Wudu and its rules.

The Qur'an says:-

O you who believe!

When you stand up for ritual prayer(Salat)

Wash your face and your hands up tothe elbows,

And wipe a part of your head andyour feet up to ankles.

(5:6)

How to make Wudu:

Use the toilet: before making Wuduif one needs to use the toilet,

They should since the Holy Prophet Muhammad(Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) said:

"No prayer can be rightly said... when he[the worshipper] is prompted by the call of nature." (Sahih Muslim,)

If you have used the toilet you needto make Istanja.

And wash your hands before makingWudu (After using the toilet is recommended

And making istanja afterwards isobligatory or Salat is not valid).

Remove anything from your body thatmight invalidate your Wudu:

Before making Wudu, I.e. if one iswearing nail polish or fake nails, they must be removed,

Because the water will not touch thehand in its entirety so the Wudu will be incomplete and any following Salatwill be invalid.

Making Wudu before applying nail polish onlymeans that your Wudu is good until it is broken.

With your left hand, wash your righthand from fingertips to wrist (3 times).

With your right hand, wash your left hand from fingertips to wrist (3times).

With your right hand, take water and rinse out your mouth (3 times).

With your left hand, take water and rinse out your nose (3 times).

With both hands, wash your face from ear to ear, chin to forehead (3times).

With your left hand, wash your right hand from your fingertips to yourelbow (3 times).

With your right hand, wash your left hand from your fingertips to yourelbow (3 times).

Then do "Masah" which is: Move the palm of the wet hand overthe head, starting from the top of the forehead to the back and pass both handsover the back of the head to the neck. Then, rub wet fingers into the grooves ofboth ears and holes and also pass the wet thumbs behind the ears. Pass thebacks of the wet hand over the back of the neck.

Then, wash your right foot (3 times).

Then, wash your left foot (3 times).

The prayer is not accepted without astate of purity

How to Perform: Ghusl.

It is recommended according to allfour Imams of Fiqh to perform Ghusl before entering Madina.

3. Make the intention for Ghusl, “Iam intending to purify myself”.

The Holy Prophet Muhammad(Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) said, “Every action is based on Intention, andeveryone shall have what he intended”. [Bukhari]

Note: Intention doesn’t need to beuttered verbally or loudly, it is an action of the heart.

4. Wash your hands up to the wrists.

Narrated ‘Aisha (radiyallaahu‘anha): Whenever the HolyProphet Muhammad (Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) took a bath after Janaba hestarted by washing his hands and then performed ablution like that for theprayer. After that he would put his fingers in water and move the roots of hishair with them, and then pour three handfuls of water over his head and thenpour water all over his body. [Bukhari]

5. Wash all the impurities from yourprivate parts.

Maimuna (radiyallaahu‘anha): related thatthe Holy Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) washed his privateparts while having a bath. [Bukhari]

6. Wudu should now be performed.(See Wudu)

Narrated Maimuna (radiyallaahu‘anha): (the wife ofthe Prophet) Allah's Apostle performed ablution like that for the prayer butdid not wash his feet. He washed off the discharge from his private parts andthen poured water over his body. He withdrew his feet from that place (theplace where he took the bath) and then washed them. And that was his way oftaking the bath of Janaba. [Bukhari]

Note: If the surface where theperson is standing is clean then feet can be washed at the same time.

7. You should now rub water throughyour hair three times, letting the water penetrate down to the roots of thehair.

Note: It is obligatory for women tohave the water reach the roots of the hair according to all four Imams of Fiqheither by untying the plaits of the hair or loosening them (if the waterreaches the roots).

8. You should now pour water overthe head and the rest of the body three times starting from the right side.

Narrated ‘Aisha (radiyallaahu‘anha): Whenever theProphet took a bath after Janaba he started by washing his hands and thenperformed ablution like that for the prayer. After that he would put hisfingers in water and move the roots of his hair with them, and then pour threehandfuls of water over his head and then pour water all over his body.[Bukhari]

9. No area of the body (even equalto a hair) should be left dry during Ghusl.

Narrated Ali ibn Abu Talib (radiyallaahu‘anhu): The Apostle ofAllah said: If anyone who is sexual defiled leaves a spot equal to the breadthof a hair without washing, such and such an amount of Hell-fire will have to besuffered for it. Ali said: On that account I treated my head (hair) as anenemy, meaning I cut my hair. He used to cut the hair (of his head). May Allahbe pleased with him? [Abu Dawud]

10. It is not necessary to do Wuduafter Ghusl.

Narrated Aisha, Ummal Muminin (radiyallaahu‘anha): The Apostle ofAllah took a bath and offered two rak’ah of prayer and said the dawn prayer.

I do not think he performed ablutionafresh after taking a bath... [Abu Dawud]

Compulsory actions of Ghusl(Faraaidh):

1. To gargle the mouth

2. To clean the nostrils up to the soft partof the nose

3. To pour water over the entirebody

Sunnah actions of Ghusl:

1. Make the intention for Ghusl, “I amperforming Ghusl for Allah (SWT)”

2. Recite at the beginning of making Wudu

Recite:

"I begin in the name of Allah,who is the Most Merciful, Most Gracious".

It is stated in the hadith that oneshould begin Wudu with Allah's name.

No words have been specified and ourelders read the above.

It is recorded in some hadith that Wudu isvalid although no "Bismillah" is recited.

3. To wash hands up to the wrists

4. To wash off all the impurities

5. To wash the private parts even if thereare no impurities on them

6. Thereafter to perform Wudu

7. Thereafter to let water flow on the entirebody three times

8. When pouring water, start from the head,then the right and then the left side

9. To rub the body

10. Notto allow washed parts to get dry before making Ghusl

WHAT NULIFIES YOUR WUDHU

1. Passing wind from the anus

--wind passed from vagina does notbreak your Wudu

“There is no Wudu except from asound or a smell." (Sahih - Ul-Jarnee)

2. Urination (old people with weakbladders may join their Salah)

3. Defecation

4. Vomiting more than a mouthful

5. To sleep lying down

. To give birth to a baby, breaksyour Wudu

. To take intoxicants

--when you take intoxicants you haveno Salah for 40 days and 40 nights

--but you still have to pray

. To fall down unconscious(including epileptic seizures)

. To touch your own private partslustfully

"Whoever touches his sexualorgan cannot pray until he performs ablution." (Reported by Al-Bukhari)

. To touch a member of the oppositesex lustfully

Abdullah ibn Umar reports that theProphet said, "Whosoever drinks wine,

Allah will not accept his prayer for40 days. If he seeks repentance Allah will forgive him.

And if he repeats it Allah will not accept hisprayer for 40 days.

Nabi (SAW) said, "If anyonedrinks alcohol Allah will not accept his Salah for 40 days" (Tirmidhi and Nasa’i).

. Apostasy

--when person returns to Islam, hemust make ghusl

GHUSL = RITUAL BATH

If you are in a state of Janabah(i.e. had a sexual discharge), purify yourself (bathe your whole body). (Al-Maidah5:6)

2 TYPES OF GHUSL in Islam

1. Wajib

2. Mustab (Mustab = stronglyrecommended)

COMPULSORY GHUSL

1. it’s compulsory after sexualintercourse (even if you did not orgasm)

Allah's Messenger (Peace andBlessings of Allah be upon him) said that,

"If one of you sits between her legs (ofa woman) and penetrates her, Ghusl (bath) is obligatory." (Bukhari andMuslim) "Even if he does not ejaculate." (Muslim)

When a man sits in between the fourparts of a woman and enters into her (for intercourse), the ghusl becomesobligatory. Reported by Al-Bukhari and Muslim

--a man fasting in Ramadan can beginhis fast before making ghusl after intercourse or a wet dream

2. Ghusl becomes compulsory when manrealizes sperm is discharging

Abu Sa'eed reported that he heardthe Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu alayhi WA sallam) say,

"Water (washing) is (needed) after(ejaculation of) sperm." (Related by Muslim)

3. it’s compulsory on women whentheir menstruation stops

The Messenger of Allah (sallallaahualayhi WA sallam) said to Fatima bint AbuHabish,

"Do not pray during your period. After ithas ended, perform ghusl and pray." (Related by al-Bukhari and Muslim)

--it’s haram on a man to have sexwith his wife after menstruating until she has made ghusl

And when they have purifiedthemselves, then go in unto them as Allah has ordained

For you (go in unto them in anymanner as long as it is in their vagina) (Al-Baqarah 2:222)

4. Wet dream - male or female

Umm Sulaym, the wife of Abu Talhasaid,

"O Allah's Messenger! Allah isnot ashamed of the truth.

Is a Ghusl (bath) compulsory for a woman whenshe has a sexual dream?

“He (Prophet Muhammad (Peace andBlessings of Allah be upon him) replied,

"Yes! When she sees signs of liquiddischarge" (Bukhari and Muslim)

Umm Salama asked, "Does thishappen (to a woman)?"

He (Muhammad (Peace and Blessings of Allah beupon him)) said,

"Yes otherwise where does theresemblance (of a child to its mother) come from?" (Muslim)

In Islam, there are 2 types ofdischarge: major and minor

Examples:

MAJOR: wet dream (make ghusl)

MINOR: getting excited:

"No ghusl on her, unless she hasa discharge, similarly there is not ghusl on the man unless heejaculates." (Related by Ahmad and Al-Nasa’i)

--whether a wet dream is experiencedby a male or female, ghusl is required

--however if a woman gets excitedand discharges: this is a minor discharge

--because it’s minor, only Wudu isrequired

--if a women gets excited (becauseshe spoke with her fiancée on the phone) and discharges:

--this is minor, therefore, onlyWudu is required

Islam split the discharge into twoto make it easier on women

--major discharge has a color

--minor is clear

5. When woman’s bleeding afterchildbirth stops, ghusl is fard

--usually bleeding stops after 40days

--normally the woman bleeds for 40days; some women may not bleed for 40 days

--so if the woman stops bleeding andmakes ghusl and her husband goes to bed with her

--they did not do haram, because thebleeding stopped

THE MUSTAHAB OF GHUSL

1. It is recommended to make ghuslfor Salat al jummah

-- Ghusl for jummah is fard

--the four great imams say it is recommended

--the opinion of the four imams isthe correct opinion

-- The prophet didn’t make it fard

"Whoever makes Wudu on Friday,it is good [for him], but if ghusl is taken, it is better." (Sunan AbuDawud vol.1, p. 93, no. 354 and authenticated in Saheeh Sunan Abu Dawood,vol.1, p.72, no. 341)

2. When you regain sanity

3. for the two Eid

-- On Eid days, you are supposed towear your best clothes etc

4. Before going into Ihram on hajjor Umrah

-- The Sunnah is to make ghusl and afteryou put on ihram pray 2 rakah’s Sunnah

5. After washing the dead

-- After carrying the dead youshould make Wudu

-- These are mustahab (recommended)not fard

6. After you take Shahadah

-- These are the 6 occasions when itis recommended to make ghusl

HOW TO PERFORM GHUSL:

ACCORDING THE SUNNAH OF THE PROPHETSalah Allahu alayhi wasallam

-- The best person to tell us thisis Aisha, as they used to perform ghusl together

-- You are allowed to shower nakedtogether with your wife/husband

Umar said, "We used to wash thedead. Some of us would perform ghusl and some would not."

-- Description of how the Rasool SalahAllahu alayhi wasallam made ghusl:

Abu Hurayrah reported that theRasool Salah Allahu alayhi wasallam said,

“Whoever washes the dead should takea ghusl and whoever carries the corpse should make Wudu.

” Narrated by Abu Hurayrah andcollected in Sunan Abu Dawud, vol.2, p.898, no.3155, Sunan Ibn-i-Majah, vol.2,pp.374-5, no.1463 and Mishkaat Al-Masabih, vol.1, p.108, and authenticated inSaheeh Sunan Abu Dawood, vol.2, p.609, no.2707

--Aisha said: when the Messenger ofAllah would make ghusl due to Janaba (sex or a wet dream), he would begin bywashing his hands

1: he began by washing his hands

2: then he would pour water from hisright side then to his left; he would wash his private parts

"When the Prophet, upon who bepeace, took his bath after sexual intercourse, he would begin by washing hishands.

Then he would pour water from hisright hand to his left and wash his sexual organs, make the ablution forprayer,

Take some water and put his fingers to theroots of his hair to the extent that he sees that the skin is wet,

Then pour water over his head threetimes and then over the rest of his body." (Related by al-Bukhari and Muslim)

3: thenhe would make Wudu like the Wudu of Salah

4: then he would wash the roots ofhair

5: then he would pour water on hishead three times

6: then he would wash his entirebody

7: then he would wash his feet

--Now, this is the"Hanafi" ghusl (the four great imams agree that it is acceptable)

--To make niyah: the mouth, the noseand the entire body

--that is the Hanafi ghusl, no Wuduis included yet the ghusl is accepted

--a woman whose hair is plaited orbraided: (it is not compulsory for her to undo her hair)

--no matter what reason she ismaking ghusl

Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleasedwith her), who said: I said, O Messenger of Allah,

I am a woman who wears her hair inbraids.

Do I have to undo my braids when Imake ghusl because of Janaba?

-- plaited and braided is to havethe hair done tightly

-- Some people say, if it is theghusl of Janaba, then she doesn’t have to

-- But if it’s the ghusl of menses,she has to undo but…

-- Hanbal fiqh, say neither way: -she doesn’t have to undo her hair

SUNAN AL FITRAH

1: To trim the mustache

2: To grow the beard

3: To clip the nails, (finger nailsand toe nails)

4: To shave the hair under thearmpits

5: To shave the hair from yourprivate parts (this is fard every 40 days and the anal hair, too)

6: Circumcision for males

--according to Abu Hanifa itsmustahab, , Hanbal, beg to differ:

--it is fard (a man who is notcircumcised is unclean)

--uncircumcised men give womencancer of the cervix and they catch AIDS easier

--FGM (female genitalia mutilation):IT IS HARAM.

Islam is the most hygienic.

The Messenger of Allah (peace andblessings of Allah be upon him) said:

“Ten things are part of the fitra: Cutting theMoustache,

Letting the Beard grow,

Using Siwak (tooth-stick),

Snuffing up water into the nose,

Cutting the Nails, Washing thefinger-joints,

Plucking the Armpit Hairs, Shavingthe Pubes and washing the private parts after relieving oneself.

” Zakariyya said: Musab said: I haveforgotten the tenth but I think it was rinsing the mouth. [Narrated: Muslim:261].

May Allah make us from the Companions of His Book and uniteus with His righteous slaves in the highest gardens of Paradise.Amen.

Having Good Character

I Seek refuge in Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD), from theShaitan.

In the name ofAllah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.

Islam has twoprimary sources, the Quran, and the authentic Traditions of the Holy ProphetMuhammad (Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam), that explain and sometimes expand onthat of the Quran.

Bismillah Al-Hamdu lillah WA salatu WA Salamu 'ala Rasulullah

Amma ba'd

The truth centers around and is based upon the Messenger (sallallaahu'alaihi wasallam)

And that which he was upon as well as that which thecompanions (radiyallaahu 'anhuma) were upon and not other than them.

Principle in Islam is that whenever Allah promises, have Iman,submit and obey. Don't ask, "Why," or "how?"

Our hearts should not be connected to the means.

Allah 'azza wa jall commanded Musa ('alaihi salaam) to takeBani Israel to the sea.

[The intellect might suggest one to hide in the mountains.]Musa took Bani Israel to the sea,

But there was no boat there. And when people saw there wasno boat (to get to the other side),

They complained and lost hope and thought they lost, andthought the pursuing Fir’ awn would catch them.

And when the two hosts saw each other, the companions of Musa(Moses) said: "We are sure to be overtaken." (Ash-Shu'ara, ayah 61)

[Musa (Moses)] said: "Nay, verily! With me is my Lord,He will guide me." (Ash-Shu'ara, ayah 62)

Musa said "never," and he didn't lose hope; he hadIman in Allah’s statement.

Allah said: Then We inspired Musa (Moses) (saying):"Strike the sea with your stick

." And it parted, and each separate part (of that seawater) became like the huge, firm mass of a mountain. (Ash-Shu'ara, ayah 63)Allahu Akbar!

[And We saved Musa (Moses) and all those with him. Then Wedrowned the others.

Verily! In this is indeed a sign (or a proof), yet most ofthem are not believers. (Ash-Shu'ara, ayah 65-67)]

Accepting Allah’s reports [Qur’an and Sunnah] and believingthem means

That one does not doubt them or waver in his affirmation ofwhat Allah, Subhanahu WA Ta'aala, says.

This is because what Allah Ta'aala says only comes fromKnowledge, while He is the Most Truthful in speech.

Allah, Ta’aala, has said about Himself:

And who is more truthful in speech than Allah? [Surah an-Nisa`,ayah 87]

To truly believe in what Allah says necessitates that oneputs his trust in His reports, defends them,

And struggles by way of them, and he does not allow theentrance of any doubt or confusion over what Allah,

Subhanahu WA Ta’aala and His Messenger (sallallaahu alayhi WAsallam) reported.

When someone takes on this kind of character,

It enables him torepel the doubts cast by those who speak with ulterior motives about thereports of Allah

And His Messenger (sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam), whetherthey be from the Muslims who have introduced new affairs into the Religion,

Or from the non-Muslims who try to cast doubts into thehearts of the Muslims.

1. Akhlaaq with Allah

2. Akhlaaq with the Angels

3. Akhlaaq with theBooks

And that we have Akhlaaq with the Messengers,

Akhlaaq with the Affairs of the Last Day (how we actregarding the texts about the Last Day), Akhlaaq with the affair of the DivineDecree (Qadar) - the good of it and the bad of it being patient with the decreeof Allah and pleased with it.

Having good character regarding the Pillars of Iman, thePillars of Islam, good character with relations with the people - this is the3rd level.

All of the Deen is Khuluq.

And what's the proof?

The hadith where the Prophet said what means:

What is most heavy upon theHaving good character.

So, does this exclude the affair of 'Aqidah, no! Rather, 'Aqidahis the first level of Good Character.

"Four will haveproofs (in their favor) on the Day of Standing:

(1) A deaf man who could not hear anything;

(2) A fool (who could not understand anything);

(3) A feebly old man;

(4) A man who died inthe fat rah (the period between Prophets).

As for the deaf man,then he will say: 'My Lord, Islam came and I did not hear anything.'

And as for the fool, then he will say, 'My Lord, Islam cameand the children were throwing dung at me.

‘And as for the feebly old man, then he will say, 'My Lord, Islamcame and I did not understand anything.'

And as for the one who died in the fat rah (period betweenProphets), then he will say,

'My Lord, noMessenger from you came to me.'

So He (Allah) will take oaths from them that they will obeyHim (in what He is about to request from them),

So it (an order) will be sent to them: 'Enter the Fire!'

And verily by Him, in whose Hand is my soul: if they enteredit, it will be cool and soothing." (Musnad of Ahmad, no. 16301,)

Allah will testthese four by commanding them to enter the fire.

Those who obey Allahwill be rewarded, finding the fire to be "cool and soothing" - Intotal contrast to what one's intellect may incline toward, but (Subhanallah!)in complete agreement with the Truthfulness of Allah and His commands.

Indeed, I am your Lord, so remove your sandals. Indeed, youare in the sacred valley of Tuwa.

[Qur'an 20:12]

The Quran is core to Islam. Believing in it is a requirement.

One who does not believe in the Quran, in its entirety,cannot claim to be a Muslim?

"The Messenger(Muhammad) believes in what has been sent down to him from his Lord and (so do)the believers.

Each one believes in God, His Angels, His Books, and HisMessengers.

(They say,) ‘We makeno distinction between one another of His Messengers’ —

And they say, ‘We hear, and we obey. (We seek) Your forgiveness, our Lord,

And to You is the return (of all)’." (Quran 2:285)

“And We have not sentdown the Book (the Quran) to you (O Muhammad,

Quran is the word of God and that it is a recitation, it isalso important to understand that Quran has remained unchanged for more than1400 years. Today when a Muslim in Egypt holds his Mushaf in his hands and beginsto recite you can be sure that in far away Fiji another Muslim is looking atand reciting the exact same words. Thereare no differences. The child in France holdinghis first Mushaf is tentatively reciting the same words that flowed from thelips of Prophet Muhammad.

God assures us in Quran that He will surely protect Hiswords. He says, “Verily, it is We Who hassent down the Quran and surely, We will guard it (from corruption).” (Quran15:9) This means that God will guard against anything false being added or anypart of it being taken away.[1] It isprotected from tampering and if anyone attempts to distort the meanings ofQuran, God will guide someone to expose the deception.[2] Muslims believe that the previous revelationsfrom God, including the Torah and the Gospels of Jesus were either lost inantiquity, or changed and distorted, so it is a source of comfort to themknowing that God’s words – the Quran – are now well guarded.

The Quran was delivered to Prophet Muhammad by the AngelGabriel and revealed in stages over a period of 23 years.

“And (it is) a Quranwhich We have divided into parts, in order that you might recite it to men atintervals.

And We have revealed it by stages.” (Quran 17:106)

Prophet Muhammad wascommanded by God to convey the Quran to all of humankind

And the responsibility weighed heavily upon him.

Even in his farewell address he called on the people presentto bear witness that he had delivered the message.

May Allah make us from the Companions of His Book and uniteus with His righteous slaves in the highest gardens of Paradise.Amen.

May Allah Subhanawataala grant us what is best in this worldand the next!

In the life of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu alayhiwasallam),

We find that he Holy Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu alayhiwasallam) used to exhibit the highest level of Awe during recitation of theHoly Quran.

Abdullah b. Mas’ud – Allah be pleased with him – said:

When a man amongst us learned ten verses [of the Quran], hewould not move on [to the next verses] until he had understood their meanings andhow to act by them.

Abu ‘Abd Al-Rahman Al-Sulamî said:

Those who used to teach us the Quran (the Companions) toldus that they used to learn the Quran from the Prophet –

Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him; when they hadlearnt ten verses they would not move on until they put into practice what wasin them.

So we learnt knowledge and deeds (implementation) together.

Oral transmission of the Holy Quran was based on hifz(memorization)

And the Beloved Holy Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu alayhiwasallam) himself was the first to memorize the revelation after the

Angel Jibraeel (Alley salaam...) has brought it to him;

Memorization by the Companions (Sahabas) The Holy ProphetMuhammad (Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) would declare the revelation andinstructed his Companions to memorize it.

One day he theHoly Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) called them

And asked each of them as to what of Quran they hadremembered (Memorized) until such time that he Holy Prophet Muhammad(Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) reached a young man and asked him the samequestion.

The young man replied, “I have memorized such and such(chapters) and Suratul-Baqarah (2nd chapter)”.

Thereupon the HolyProphet Muhammad (Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) told the people,

“Now go away fromhere and this young man is your leader (from now onwards)”.

When people said: “OMessenger of Allah”! “He is still young”, he Holy Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahualayhi wasallam) said, “He knows Suratul-Baqarah”.

The first step in memorizing the Quran after that of Ikhlasis the obligation o f correcting the pronunciation of the Quran.

This does not occur except by listening to a good reciter ora precise memorizer of the Quran.

The Quran is not learned except by acquiring it (fromanother).

Thus, the HolyProphet Muhammad (Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) who is the most eloquent of the Arabsin speech took it from Jibraeel (A.S.) orally.

The Holy Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam)himself used to recite the Quran to Jibraeel A.S. once in every year and in theyear that he died he recited it to him twice. [Reported by Bukhari]

Likewise, the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu alayhiwasallam) taught it to the Companions (radiyallaahu ‘anhuma) orally and thosewho ca me after them heard it from the Companions and so on for each generationafter t hem.

Abd Allah Ibn Mas’ud (radiyallaahu ‘anhu) says that the HolyProphet Muhammad (Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) asked me to recite the Quran forhim.

He said to the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu alayhiwasallam), 'Should I recite the Quran before you whereas it has been revealedunto you?'

At this the Prophet said, 'I love it more to hear the Quranfrom someone else.

‘Then Abdullah Ibn Mas’ud recited the chapter of 'An-Nisa'.When he recited the verse,

'How will it be them, when We shall bring out of eachcommunity, a witness,

And We shall bring thee against these as witnesses....’ (4:41),

The Prophet said, 'This is enough.' When Ibn Mas’ud saw theface of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam),

He saw tears rollingdown both his eyes.

Hasan Ibn Muhammad Ibn Alf Ibn Abi Talib (radiyallaahu‘anhu) says that while delivering the Jummah sermon,

Umar (radiyallaahu ‘anhu) recited the chapter of 'Takwir',when he recited the verse,

'Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented.'(81:14),

His voice got choked(on account of fear of Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD).

And he could not recite any more.

The Holy Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) wasasked, “Who is the best reciter of the Quran?

” He: Holy Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam)replied, “One who is seen exhibiting awe

(a feeling of greatrespect and admiration combined with fear) at its recitation”.

“Exalted are You; we have no knowledge except what You havetaught us. Indeed, it is You who is the Knowing, the Wise.”

The first step is to make one’s intention solely for thepleasure of Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) and not for any earthly gain.

It is hardly possiblefor one to embark on this journey without pure intentions,

As it is one that requires great amounts of time, patience,and perseverance, Continual supplication to Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD)for success, And Duas deep from the heart and determination.

The student of the Qur’an needs to realize before they startthat Shaitan is going to come to them

And try to dissuade them from their noble goal.

The waswasa can be in the form of making one feel like it isnever going to end, or seeing others having “fun” while the student isstruggling forth, or any other sort of tool.

Knowing this should keep the student on guard and helprecognize the cause of the laziness or feeling of wanting to stop.

The worst thing to do at this time is take a break frommemorizing.

This will make returning to the memorization more difficultand usually one will feel like the task has become harder.

The best thing to do is make dua’, renew one’s intentions;change the hadith on the wall to a new one

And read all the previously hung hadith. Reading other’sstories of struggle can also help.

Memorizing the Holy Quran becomes the great source of rewardfor the Muslims

And those who memorize the Holy Quran are the eminent peopleamong believers.

Some of their privileges are mentioned below: -

"And We (Allah) have made the Holy Quran easy tounderstand and remember,

Then is there any that will receive admonition."(TheQuran, 54:17)

One of the means through which Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala(GOD) has assured the protection of the Holy Quran is the fact that He made thememorization of His Book an easy task for the believers.

In fact, the Holy Quran is the only religious Scripture thatis memorized by its followers.

Innumerable persons in every Muslim community have memorizedthe whole Quran since the first day it was revealed.

Children as young as five years old and men and women as oldas 50 years memorize the whole Quran as part of their love and devotion to theBook of Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD).

The one who memorizes the whole Quran is known as a Hafiz.

It is a miracle that the Hafiz not only memorizes the entiretext of the Holy Quran,

But also the punctuation and iatrical marks of each andevery word and verse of the Quran.

The "And We (Allah) has made the Holy Quran easy tounderstand and remember,

Then is there any that will receive admonition."(The Quran,54:17)

What is more amazing is that Muslims of different languagesare able to memorize the whole Quran perfectly even though they do not speakArabic. The Quran is not a small book containing few verses.

Rather, it is a book containing over 6,000 verses!

It is a miracle of the Quran that a Hafiz is able tomemorize all of these verses in order.

(A hafiz (the keeper, keeping against forgetting) is aperson who memorized all of the Holy Quran and could recite it from memory.

There are little kids who are hafiz; this is because theystarted at an early age. The younger they start the better).

The Holy Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) saidthat Hafiz of the Holy Quran is very close to Allah (Subhana hu WA Ta’aala -TheGlorious and the Exalted).

The Holy ProphetMuhammad (Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) said that Hafiz of the Holy Quran is thefriends of Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD).

The Holy ProphetMuhammad (Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) said: "Hafizes are the mostrespectable people of my Ummah."

The Holy ProphetMuhammad (Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) also said that on the day of Qiyamah (JudgmentDay),

The Holy Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) saida hafiz will be rewarded on the day of Qiyamah (Judgment Day), as will his orher parents,

And will be grantedthe ability to intercede on behalf of ten family members

The Holy ProphetMuhammad (Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) said the parents of Hafiz will be madeto wear a crown on the day of Qiyamah,

The brilliance ofwhich will excel that of the sun.

Allah is always monitoring, watching our every move andknows what is in our hearts.

Ibn Mas'ud – (radiyallaahu 'anhu) – would advise hisstudents, "If your intention is one of these three, do not seek knowledge:To shame the ignorant, or to argue with the Fuqaha' (scholars), or to causepeople to turn their faces in your direction.

Intend with your actions and words that which is with Allah,for indeed that which is with Allah shall remain and everything else shallperish.

Don’t Speak Without Knowledge, Say “Allahu Alam”:

Abu Bakr – radiyallaahu ‘anhu – said:

Which sky would shade me and which earth would carry me

(I.e. let me live upon it) if I were to say about the Bookof Allah that which I do not know (about)?

May Allah make us from the Companions of His Book and uniteus with His righteous slaves in the highest gardens of Paradise.Amen.

Islam has twoprimary sources, the Quran, and the authentic Traditions of the Holy ProphetMuhammad (Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam), that explain and sometimes expand onthat of the Quran.

The Quran is core to Islam. Believing in it is a requirement.

One who does notbelieve in the Quran, in its entirety, cannot claim to be a Muslim?

"The Messenger(Muhammad) believes in what has been sent down to him from his Lord and (so do)the believers.

Each one believes in Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD), HisAngels, His Books, and His Messengers.

(They say,) ‘We makeno distinction between one another of His Messengers’ —

And they say, ‘We hear, and we obey. (We seek) Your forgiveness, our Lord,

And to You is the return (of all)’." (Quran 2:285)

In the life of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu alayhiwasallam), we find that he Holy Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam)used to exhibit the highest level Of Awe during recitation of the Holy Quran.

Abdullah b. Mas’ud – Allah be pleased with him – said:

When a man amongst us learned ten verses [of the Quran], hewould not move on [to the next verses] until he had understood their meaningsand how to act by them.

Abu ‘Abd Al-Rahmaan Al-Sulamî said:

Those who used to teach us the Quran (the Companions) toldus that they used to learn the Quran from the Prophet –

Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him; when they hadlearnt ten verses they would not move on until they put into practice what wasin them.

So we learnt knowledge and deeds (implementation) together.

Oral transmission of the Holy Quran was based on hafiz(memorization)

And the Beloved Holy Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu alayhiwasallam) himself was the first to memorize the revelation after the

Angel Jibraeel (alley salaam...) has brought it to him;

Memorization by the Companions (Sa’haba) The Holy ProphetMuhammad (Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) would declare the revelation andinstructed his Companions to memorize it.

One day he theHoly Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) called them

The young man replied, “I have memorized such and such(chapters) and Suratul-Baqarah (2nd chapter)”.

Thereupon the HolyProphet Muhammad (Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) told the people,

“Now go away fromhere and this young man is your leader (from now onwards)”.

When the people said: “O Messenger of Allah”! He is stillyoung”, he Holy Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) said, “He knows Surat ul-Baqarah”.

Abd Allah Ibn Mas’ud (radiyallaahu ‘anhu) says that the HolyProphet Muhammad (Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) asked me to recite the Quran forhim.

He said to the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu alayhiwasallam), 'Should I recite the Quran before you whereas it has been revealedunto you?'

At this the Prophet said, 'I love it more to hear the Quranfrom someone else.

‘Then Abdullah Ibn Mas’ud recited the chapter of 'An-Nisa'.When he recited the verse,

'How will it be them, when we shall bring out of eachcommunity, a witness,

And We shall bring thee against these as witnesses....’(4:41),

The Prophet said, 'This is enough.' When Ibn Mas’ud saw theface of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam),

He saw tears rollingdown both his eyes.

Hasan Ibn Muhammad Ibn Alf Ibn Abi Talib (radiyallaahu‘anhu) says that while delivering the Jummah sermon,

Umar (radiyallaahu ‘anhu) recited the chapter of 'Takwir', whenhe recited the verse,

'Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented.'(81:14),

His voice got choked (on account of fear of Allah SubhanahuWA Ta’aala (GOD).

And he could not recite any more.

The Holy Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) wasasked, “Who is the best reciter of the Quran?

” He: Holy Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam)replied, “One who is seen exhibiting awe

(a feeling of greatrespect and admiration combined with fear) at its recitation”.

Memorizing the Holy Quran becomes the great source of rewardfor the Muslims

And those who memorize the Holy Quran are the eminent peopleamong believers.

Some of their privileges are mentioned below: -

"And We (Allah) have made the Holy Quran easy tounderstand and remember,

Then is there any that will receive admonition."(TheQuran, 54:17)

One of the means through which Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala(GOD) has assured the protection

Of the Holy Quran is the fact that He made the memorizationof His Book an easy task for the believers.

In fact, the Holy Quran is the only religious Scripture thatis memorized by its followers.

Innumerable persons in every Muslim community have memorizedthe whole Quran since the first day it was revealed.

Children as young as five years old and men and women as oldas 50 years memorize the whole Quran as part of their love And devotion to theBook of Allah.

The one who memorizes the whole Quran is known as a Hafiz.

It is a miracle that the Hafiz not only memorizes the entiretext of the Holy Quran,

But also the punctuation and iatrical marks of each andevery word and verse of the Quran.

The "And We (Allah) has made the Holy Quran easy tounderstand and remember,

Then is there any that will receive admonition."(TheQuran, 54:17)

What is more amazing is that Muslims of different languagesare able to memorize the whole Quran perfectly even though they do not speakArabic. The Quran is not a small book containing few verses.

Rather, it is a book containing over 6,000 verses!

It is a miracle of the Quran that a Hafiz is able tomemorize all of these verses in order.

(A hafiz (the keeper, keeping against forgetting) is aperson who memorized all of the Holy Quran and could recite it from memory.

There are little kids who are hafiz; this is because theystarted at an early age.

The younger they start the better).

The Holy Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) saidthat Hafiz of the Holy Quran is very close to Allah (Subhana WA Ta’aala - theGlorious and the Exalted).

The Holy ProphetMuhammad (Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) said that Hafiz of the Holy Quran is thefriends of Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD).

The Holy ProphetMuhammad (Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) said: "Hafizes are the mostrespectable people of my Ummah."

The Holy ProphetMuhammad (Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) also said that on the day of Qiyamah(Judgment Day),

Hafizes of the Holy Quran will accompany the prophets andthe pious people of Allah under His special flag.

The Holy Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) saida hafiz will be rewarded on the day of Qiyamah (Judgment Day), as will his orher parents,

Quran is the word of Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) and that it is a recitation, it isalso important to understand that Quran has remained unchanged for more than1400 years. Today when a Muslim in Egypt holds his Mushaf in his hands and beginsto recite you can be sure that in far away Fiji another Muslim is looking atand reciting the exact same words. Thereare no differences. The children in France,U.K.,Africa,U.S.China, holdinghis first Quran (Mushaf) is tentatively reciting the same words that flowed from thelips of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam).

Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) assures us in Quran that Hewill surely protect His words.

He says, “Verily, it is We Who has sent down the Quran andsurely,

We will guard it (from corruption).” (Quran 15:9) This meansthat Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) will guard against anything false beingadded or any part of it being taken away. It is protected from tampering and if anyone attempts to distort themeanings of Quran, Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) will guide someone toexpose the deception. Muslims believe that the previous revelations from AllahSubhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD), including the Torah and the Gospels of Jesus wereeither lost in antiquity, or changed and distorted, so it is a source ofcomfort to them knowing that Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD)’s words – theQuran – are now well guarded.

The Quran was delivered to Prophet Muhammad by the AngelGabriel and revealed in stages over a period of 23 years.

“And (it is) a Quranwhich We have divided into parts, in order that you might recite it to men atintervals.

And We have revealed it by stages.” (Quran 17:106)

Prophet Muhammad wascommanded by God to convey the Quran to all of humankind

And the responsibility weighed heavily upon him.

Even in his farewell address he called on the people presentto bear witness that he had delivered the message.

Allah SubhanahuWA Ta’aala (GOD)’s name I begin, the Most Beneficent, the Most

Holy Prophet Muhammad(Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) A mercy to all mankind, generosity, clemency and conduct,forgiveness, gentleness,

TRUSTWORTHINESS

Praise be to Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD).

And May His peace and blessings be upon the Messenger, hisfamily, His Companions, and all those who follow his way until the Day ofJudgment.

Word Amin is used for prophets, angel and true believers,

Holy Prophet Muhammad(Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) was called Siddiq and Amin even before Prophet Hood.

Behold, their brotherNoah said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)?

"I am to you amessenger worthy of all trust.” Shu’ara, 26,106-107Similar ayahs are present inthis Surah about Hood, Saleh, Loot, and Suhaib.

He has no Iman who does not protect Amana and he has no Salahwho does not have Taharaah.

He has no Iman who has no Amana and he has no Deen who doesnot keep promises.

Return the Amana to whom it belongs and do not commitdishonesty to even one who did it to you.

The second attribute of Prophet Hood is Amana an Arabic wordwhich means ‘trustworthiness’.

It is derived from the same root as the word Mu_min,believer. Being a believer implies being ‘a trustworthy person‘.

The Prophets, upon them all be peace, were foremost inbelief and therefore at the summit of trustworthiness.

To stress this principle, Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD)summarizes the stories of five Prophets using the same words:

Quran’s teachings on Amana:

We did indeed offer the Trust to the Heavens and the Earthand the Mountains;

But they refused to undertake it, being afraid thereof: butman undertook it;-

He was indeed unjust and foolish; (With the result) thatAllah has to punish the Hypocrites,

Men and women, andthe Unbelievers, men and women, and Allah turns in Mercy to the Believers,

Men and women: for Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.Al-Ahzab 33, 72-73

The people of Noah denied the Messengers. When their brotherNoah said to them:

‘Will you not fear Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) andavoid evil? I am a trustworthy Messenger to you?’ (al-Shu‘ara’, 26.105–107)

In summary of the other stories, the names HUD, Lot, Shu’aib and Salih replace the name Noah.

These are just a few of the many verses emphasizing thetrustworthiness of the Prophets.

Hadith about Amana if you have 4 things in you, then even ifyou loose the whole material world, you are not a looser:

Protection of Amana Truthfulness Beautiful morals Sustenanceearned through Halaal means. (Musnad Ahmad)

It should be noted that Mu_min, trustworthy, is one of theDivine Names.

Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) is the ultimate Mu_min; BecauseHe is the source of security and reliability.

We put our trust in, confide in, and rely upon, Him.

He distinguished theProphets by their trustworthiness.

Our connection to Him is through the Prophets and is basedentirely on their trustworthiness and reliability.

As trustworthiness is a most important attribute of Prophet Hood,it is also an essential quality of the Archangel Gabriel A.S...

The Qur’an describes Gabriel as one obeyed and trustworthy(al-Takwir, 81.21).

We received the Qur’an through two trustworthy Messengers,Gabriel A.S. and Holy Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam)

Gabriel A.S. conveyed it to Holy Prophet Muhammad(Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam), and the latter communicated it to us.

The trustworthiness of Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD)’sMessenger

The Holy Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam), wastrustworthy to the utmost degree in his mission as a Prophet And in his generalbehavior towards Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) s creatures.

As he did not show any disloyalty to his cause, neither didhe cheat anybody in his life.

The Holy Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam)’strustworthiness concerning his mission

The Messenger was chosen by Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD)for his trustworthiness so that he would be totally devoted to delivering theMessage truthfully.

He was so concerned about his duty that he used to repeatthe verses while Gabriel was reciting them to him until Allah Subhanahu WATa’aala (GOD) revealed:

Move not your tongue concerning (the Qur’an) to make hastetherewith. It is for us to collect it, to establish it in your heart and enableyou to recite it. So, when we have recited it to you, then follow you itsrecital.

Then it is also for us to make it clear to you. (Al-Qiyamah,75.16—9)

As the Qur’an was given to him as a trust, he did his utmostto convey it to people in the best way possible.

He dedicated his life to this sacred cause, constantly awareof the weight of his responsibility.

In the last year of his life, he made his farewellpilgrimage, during which he gave a sermon on the hill of ‘Arafat.

He communicated topeople the Commandments of Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) once more and atthe end of each sentence, he told the pilgrims,

They will, in the near future, inquire of you about me, andasked them: Have I conveyed the Message to you?

Each time the Muslims answered, ‘Yes, you have conveyed’, herepeated, O Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD), be the witness!

Specific events demonstrating the Messenger’strustworthiness

Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD)’s Messenger, upon him bepeace and blessings, Never thought of concealing even a word of the DivineRevelation.

We read in the Qur’an that Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD)admonished him mildly for a few actions of his.

Were he not theMessenger of Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD)

And — Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) forbids the thought!—

Were he the author of the Qur’an, there would have been nosuch admonition in it.

The society in which the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahualayhi wasallam) was raised was a primitive one.

Many of the prevalent customs contradicted reason andsociological and scientific facts.

For example, adoptedchildren enjoyed the same legal status as natural children

And it followed that a man could not legally marry, forexample, the widow or former wife of an adopted son.

This practice was to be abolished, as adoption can nevercreate a relationship comparable to the relationship with biological parents.

Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) chose to solve thisproblem, as always,

Through the idealexample of His Messenger in order to separate a ‘legal’ fiction from a naturalreality, and established a new law and custom.

Zaid (radiyallaahu ‘anhu) who was an emancipated slave

And servant of Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD)’s Messengerwhom he addressed as ‘my son’, had married Zainab (radiyallaahu ‘anha), thedaughter of Jahsh. It was Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD)’s Messenger himself,upon him be peace and blessings,

Who had arranged this marriage?

Nevertheless, it soonbecame clear that the marriage would not last long.

Zaid (radiyallaahu ‘anhu) admitted that he was spirituallyinferior to his wife.

He concluded that it was better for him to divorce her. Inthe end,

The Qur’an commanded Holy Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahualayhi wasallam),

We gave her in marriage to you (al-Ahzab, 33.37).

The Holy Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam), wasobliged by this Divine command to marry her.

This was, of course, against the established traditions ofthe time,

And was difficult for Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD)’sMessenger to carry out, as the hypocrites would use this opportunity to defamehim,

So he delayed announcing the Divine decree, for which hereceived the following admonition:

Then, you said to him on whom Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala(GOD) bestowed grace and you have done favour,

‘Keep your wife to yourself and fear Allah Subhanahu WATa’aala (GOD)’.

But you did hide inyour heart that which Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) was about to makemanifest because you feared the people [That they would speak slander againstyou], whereas Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) had a better right that youshould fear him. (Al-Ahzab, 33.37)

‘Aisha (radiyallaahu ‘anha), Mother of Believers, latercommented on the event:

If Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD)’s Messenger had beenwilling to conceal any Revelation, he would have concealed that verse.

If Holy Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam),

Had not been a trustworthy Messenger, he would, as ‘AishaR.A. rightly said, have concealed that verse.

However, concealing it would have been contrary to hischaracter and mission.

Furthermore, the verse 67 of Surah al-Maida contains aclear,

Decisive order for the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahualayhi wasallam) not to conceal anything of the Qur’an,

For concealment of even a single Revelation would amount tomean that he did not deliver his Message. The verse reads:

O Messenger, deliver what has been sent down to you fromyour Lord; for if you do not,

You will not have fulfilled your task of His Messenger ship.Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) will protect you from men.

Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) guides not the people ofthe unbelievers.

So, Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD)’s Messenger, upon himbe peace and blessings,

Communicated to people whatever was revealed to Him by AllahSubhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD)

The Holy Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) strustworthiness in his relations with creatures

Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD)’s Messenger, upon him bepeace and blessings, was trustworthy and encouraged trustworthiness.

Once, during the last ten days of the month of Ramadan,

His wife Sofia(radiyallaahu ‘anha) visited him while he confined himself in mosque forconstant prayer.

As he escorted her home, two of his Companions happened topass by.

The Messenger stopped them and, unveiling the face of hiswife Sofia, said to them, Look, this is my wife, Sofia!

They said: ‘Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) forbids anyevil thought about you, O Messenger of Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD)!’

The Messenger hadwanted to warn them against any evil suspicion about him, which might causethem to lose their faith and thereby condemn them to eternal Hellfire.

He gave them and us a lesson, saying, Satan continuouslycirculates within man in his blood vessels.

Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD)’s Messenger was anembodiment of trustworthiness.

The Makkan’s called him ‘the Trustworthy One.

’ Even after the declaration of his Prophet Hood,

They continued to entrust their precious goods to himalthough they regarded him as an enemy.

He warned his people against lying, breaking one’s word andbreach of trust.

Like breaching a trust and breaking one’s word,

lying was also, in his words, ‘a sign of hypocrisy’.

He was so meticulousin this matter that once he saw a woman calls her child saying,

‘Come on, I’ll give you something! ‘He asked her whether shewould really give the child something.

When the woman replied that she would give him a date, AllahSubhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD)’s Messenger warned:

If you were not to give something, that would be a lie!

He was not only against deceiving humans, but even warnedpeople against deceiving animals.

Once, annoyed at seeing one of his Companions call his horseusing deception, he said:

You should give up deceiving animals. You should betrustworthy even in your treatment of them!

Some of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu alayhiwasallam) beautiful qualities are:

A mercy to all mankind, generosity, clemency and conduct,forgiveness, gentleness,

Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: “A man cameto the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam)

And spoke to him in avery bad way saying:

” Oh Muhammad, give me some of Allah’s gifts you have.

” The Prophet looked at him and smiled, and then he orderedgiving him the money he needed.”

The Holy Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) wasa Mercy to all mankind:

Allah Said:”It was by the mercy of Allah that you werelenient with them” (Quran, 3:159)

Allah Said:”for the believers he is full of pity, kind andmerciful.” (Quran, 9:128)

May Allah Subhanawataala grant us what is best in this worldand the next!

Sa’haba was the companions ofHoly Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam).

Allah SubhanahuWA Ta’aala (GOD)’s name I begin, the Most Beneficent, the Most

Narrated Abu Said (Radiyallaahu anhu):Holy Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) said, “Do not abuse mycompanions (Radiyallaahu anhuma).) For if any one of you, spent gold equal toUhud (in Allah’s Cause) it would not be equal to a Mud or even a half Mud spentby one of them.”

Companions of the Prophet – SahihBukhari: Volume 5, Book 57, Number 22

The Sa’haba was the companions ofHoly Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam).

They are described in glowing termsby the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) as the followinghadith from Sahih Muslim [Book 30, Number 6159] shows:

Narrated Aisha (Radiyallaahu anha):

A person asked Holy Prophet Muhammad(Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) as to who amongst the people were the best.

He said: Of the generation to whichI belong, then of the second generation (generation adjacent to my generation),then of the third generation (generation adjacent to the second generation).

Below is a partial list of some ofthe companions of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam).

Their lives remain a source ofinspiration for the later generations of Muslims, including today's.

May Allah be pleased with all of them?

Osama (Radiyallaahu anhu) Says: One day I waswith Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD)’messenger, upon him be peace andblessings, on the roof of a tall building in Madina.

Looking around, God’s Messengersaid: Now I see seditious events and internal conflicts pouring down like dropsof rain, among your houses.

‘Umar was very afraid of theappearance of disorder and sedition in the Muslim community.

One day during his caliphate, heasked Hudhayfa about them. Hudhayfa responded:

‘They have nothing to do with you, O‘Umar. There is a gate between you and them’. ‘Umar asked again:

‘Will this gate be opened or brokendown?’ Hudhayfa answered: ‘It will be broken down’.

This answer shook ‘Umar, whoreacted: ‘Then, this gate will never be closed again!’

‘Umar was the gate between theMuslim community and sedition.

After he was stabbed by atreacherous Persian slave, Muslim unity received a fatal blow,

And the following centuries, tilltoday, have unfortunately witnessed discord and sedition in Muslim lands. [Bukhariand Muslim]

The Messenger foretold the spread of Islam inthe world

Bukhari and Abu Dawud quote Habibibn Arat, who said:

Once, during the days of trouble andtorture in Makkah, I went to Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD)’s Messenger,

Who was sitting in the shade of the Ka’ba?

I was still a slave in the hands of Makkan’sthen. They inflicted on me severe tortures. Unable to endure those tortures anymore,

I requested Allah Subhanahu WATa’aala (GOD)’s Messenger to pray to Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) for helpand salvation.

But he turned towards me and said:

By Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD),previous communities had to endure more pitiless tortures.

Some of them were made to lie inditches and cut in two with saws but this did not make them forsake theirfaith.

They were skinned alive but theynever became weak against the enemy.

Surely Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala(GOD) will perfect this religion, but you display undue haste.

A day will come when a woman willtravel alone by herself from Sana’a to Hadramut fearing nothing but wildbeasts.

However, you show impatience.

Habib concluded: ‘By Allah SubhanahuWA Ta’aala (GOD), what Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD)’s Messenger predictedthat day, has all come true. I have personally witnessed it all.’

Abdullah bin `Amr bin `Aas (radiyallaahu‘anhu), he related that a woman came to the Messenger of Allah with herdaughter.

On the daughter’s wrist were twoheavy gold bracelets.

The Messenger asked her, “Do you pay Zakat onthis?” She replied, “No.

” The Messenger said: “Would itplease you that Allah will encircle you with two bracelets of fire?”

The reporter commented that she tookthem off and threw them down in front of the Messenger, and said: “They are forAllah and his Messenger.” [Ahmed].;

Think about this for a second–fiqhof Zakat aside. Imagine, if you will, yourself in this place. The Messenger ofAllah comes to you, and says, “You need to pay Zakat on those two goldbracelets.”

What would you do? Probably hum andhaw, then get them weighed, calculate the value, and leave your Zakat with themasjid to distribute.

But what did this Sahabi (in similarnarrations, Asma (Radiyallaahu anha) the daughter of Abu Bakr (Radiyallaahuanhu) do?

She gave the ENTIRE bracelets, both of them,as charity! Not just paid Zakat–2.5% of the value–she actually donated thewhole thing feasabilillah!

And this is what makes companions sospecial! (And better people than us!) We do the bare minimum, enough to justscrape by; but they go for the MAXIMUM reward.

And that’s the lesson of thishadith–and what a valuable lesson it is!

Another instance that comes to mymind is when Abu Bakr (Radiyallaahu anhu) anhu gave all of his wealth for thesake of Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) and the Prophet sallallaahu alayhi WAsallam asked him what he left for his family and he replied: Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) and HisMessenger.

Subhanallah!

The companions also loved the Qur’anand the Sunnah.

So if we are told something is Sunnah,we should not brush it off and say

“Oh, it’s only Sunnah”, but we should try toimplement it immediately just as the Companions did.

Lets not stop and think when itcomes to doing more Ibadah, otherwise we will let the weakness of our nafs andthe whispers of Shaitan get to us and make excuses….Lets just stand up purelyfor the Sake of Allah Subhanahu WATa’aala (GOD)

Some suggestions for deeds we cando;

Visit someone for the sake of AllahSubhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) (Take a gift or food)

Say Salaam to anyone you see on thestreet

Invite all the family for dinner(for those you have not been in contact with).

Do your bit.

Read about Ihsan. Learn about it.Ask yourself frequently: “What would it mean to do ihsan in this thing I’mdoing right now?”

Aim for the gold medal. Don’t be satisfiedwith memorizing only half of Juz Amma.

Memorize the entire Qur’an! (Step bystep, of course.) Or if you’ve studied one area of fiqh (like the fiqh of Salah),

Learn what the different scholarly opinionsare (like study fiqh from a different madhab).

Give a Little Extra. If someone asks you forhelp–with some project, essay, exam, task, chore around the house (parents?),

Don’t just do the bit they ask!Throw in a little extra, do a little extra. As Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD)says, “Is there any reward for ihsan other than ihsan?” [55:60].

Let’s ask Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala(GOD) to help us learn the lessons from these great companions and to help usimplement them in our lives (Ameen)!

InshaAllah: Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) makes the path of ease, easy; so picksomething up.

Start praying one Sunnah you didn’t pray; orlearn a new dhikr (such as the one for mornings or evenings).

It may be tough in the beginning,but it pays off in the long-term.

Pray and do Dhikr in good times and tense times, and holdtight to the rope of Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) at all times.

Try to give up some dunya and replace with Dhikr and Salat,InshaAllah it will help.

Alhamdullilah! Sabr is the secret door to Allah Subhanahu WATa’aala (GOD)’s presence.

It is the code that tells Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD)that we truly submit to His will, whatever it may be.

May Allah Subhanawataala grant us what is best in this worldand the next!

Action speaks louder then words my friend’s practice Islamthe way of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) did.

May Allah SubhanahuWA Ta’aala (GOD) help us to do that which He loves and which pleases Him?

Allah Subhanahu WATa’aala (GOD) Help me to be good to my parents.

Forbid that I should ever punish my parents, for my selfishsatisfaction.

May I grant them all their wishes that are reasonable andhave the courage?

Always to withhold a privilege which I know will do themharm.

Make me so fair and just,

So considerate and companionable to my parents, that theywill have a genuine esteem for me.

Fit me to be loved and imitated by my children.

And we have enjoined on man goodness to his parents,

And if they contend with you that you should associate(others) with me,

Of which you have no knowledge, do not obey them, and to meis your return,

So I will inform you of what you did

Being a good to your parents is not about money, age orwhether you and your partner are together.

It's about love,respect.

Prophet (Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) said that if you dogood deeds with your parents it is worth Salah, Zakat, Fasting, Hajj, Umra andJihad.

We shall obey our parents with a good behavior like showrespect when your parents are talking.

It is our duty to look after their needs and comfort themwith your respect.

We should talk to them with a low voice as respect.

When they are old we shall take care of them so that theywill never feel neglected.

We should ask forgiveness to our parents when we commit amistake knowingly or annoyingly.

-Chapter: 46, Verse: 15

And we have enjoined on man doing of good to his parents;

With trouble did hismother bear him and with trouble did she bring him forth;

And the bearing of him and the weaning of him was thirtymonths;

Until when he attains his maturity and reaches forty years,he says:

My lord! Grant methat i may give thanks for thy favor which thou hast bestowed on me and on myparents,

And that I may do well which pleases thee and do well to mein respect of my offspring; surely I turn to thee,

And surely I am of those who submit

He who gives his wealth to purify himself, and confers nofavor on any man for recompense,

Only seeking the Face of his Lord the Most High; He shallsurely be satisfied. Qur'an 92.18-21

He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he whosows bountifully will also reap bountifully.

Each one must do as he has made up his mind, not reluctantlyor under compulsion, for Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) loves a cheerfulgiver.

And Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) is able to provide youwith every blessing in abundance, so that you may always have enough of everythingand may provide in abundance for every good work.

He scatters abroad, he gives to the poor; his righteousnessendures forever.

He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food willsupply and multiply your resources and increase the harvest of yourrighteousness.

You will be enriched in every way for great generosity.

Give not with the thought to gain, and be patient unto thyLord.

. Qur'an 74.6-7

- Chapter: 29, Verse: 8

And serve Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) and do notassociate any thing with him and be good to the parents and to the near of kinand the orphans and the needy and the neighbor of (your) kin and the alienneighbor, and the companion in a journey and the wayfarer and those whom yourright hands possess;

Surely Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) does not love himwho is proud, boastful;

Never argue with your parents or else Allah Subhanahu WATa’aala (GOD) will be very angry and upset at you.

Whenever you do something do not let your parents feel upsetand angry by our behavior towards them.

You will not understand the love that a parent has for achild until you yourself have you own child.

You will NEVER understand that it means to love somebodyuntil you become a parent.

You will never understand it.

You never ever have a relationship; have a feeling for anyhuman being, like you do for your son or daughter.

For those who are young:

– Many of you, whoare still young,

You have this idealistic concept of loving the oppositegender and getting married to them –

Ask anybody who’s gone beyond that stage.

Ask anybody who knows that truth – that type of love, it isa selfish love.

Why is it a selfish love?

Because you want something back in return. It is a love ofgive and take –

It is a love of fights along with good, there’s good and there’sbad.

Your most painful moments and your sweetest moment will bewith your partner.

Chapter: 17, Verse: 23

And your lord Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) has commandedthat you shall not serve (any) but him, and goodness to your parents.

if either or both ofthem reach old age with you, say not to them (so much as) "ugh" norchide them, and speak to them a generous word

When we give to one another, freely and without conditions,sharing our blessings with others and bearing each other's burdens, the givingmultiplies and we receive far more than what was given.

Even when there is no immediate prospect of return, Heavenkeeps accounts of giving, and in the end blessing will return to the giver,multiplied many fold.

We must give first; to expect to receive without havinggiven is to violate the universal law.

On the other hand, giving in order to receive--with stringsattached, with the intention of currying favor, or in order to make a name foroneself--is condemned

Love of your parents?

When we were young, we loved to play with our Mum and Dad.

When we grow up, manyof us leave them and only come to them when we need something or when we are introuble.

No matter what, parents are always there and give everythingthey could just to make us happy.

For Muslims follower of Islam, Every Year and Month and Dayand Hour and Minute and Second is Mothers Day, Fathers Day and Parents Day.

Islam laid great emphasis on the rights of parents and theduties of children towards them.

According to Islamic teachings, to be obedient and to showkindness to parents has been enjoined in the Holy Quran in such a manner as tosay that among the noble deeds,

To obey parents, treat them respectfully and to showkindness to them is next to worshipping Almighty Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala(GOD).

The Holy Quran says, "Your Lord has decreed that youworship none but Him, and that you be kind to parents.

Whether one or both of them attain old age in thy life, saynot to them a word of contempt, nor repel them, but address them in terms ofhonor.

“Surah: - Al Isra (17:23)”.

Prophet (Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam):- the parents of acertain person are his Heaven or Hell.

What this means is that if a person obeys his parents,attends to their needs and keeps them happy and comfortable, he will attain Paradise.

On the other hand, if he is disrespectful and rude to them,offends them by ignoring their needs and feelings or causes them grief in anymanner, his place shall be in Hell.

In modern times, a trend has arisen whereby when parentscome to be seen as a liability because of old age and physical weakness.

They are then sent to 'old people's homes'.

But the stricture ordained by Islam makes it clear thatshrugging off the responsibility of old parents serves as an invitation toHell.

Both the father andmother are equal when it comes to caring for them and providing them allpossible physical comforts and mental peace.

The time that the parents need to be looked after most, isin their old age.

To serve them devotedly at that stage of their lives is thebest way of pleasing Almighty Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD).

It is also one of the easiest ways of attaining Paradise. Abu Hurairah R.A., a companion of the holyProphet (Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam), has said that:

"A person isindeed disgraced, who does not earn Paradiseby caring for his parents during the life time and old age of his/herparents".

Obeying one's parents and treating them with respect andaffection is a great virtue and it serves as repentance for a person's sins.

Similarly, to ask Almighty Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD)to have mercy on them after death is an act that brings them comfort in theirgraves.

It is the duty of sons and daughters to pray for theforgiveness of their parents after their death and treat their relatives andfriends with due respect. In the Holy Quran, Muslims have been urged to prayfor the salvation of their parents as shown in the following verse:

"And say, My Lord, Have mercy on both of them as theycared for me when I was little".

The holy Prophet (Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam), has saidthat to abuse one's parents is a major sin.

So much so that if a person abuses someone else's parentsand that person, in retaliation,

Abuses his parents, then it is as though he himself hasabused his parents.

On another occasion, when asked about the major sins, theholy he Prophet (Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam), replied,

"To associate someone with Almighty Allah Subhanahu WATa’aala (GOD) is shirk, to disobey parents, to kill unlawfully, and to givefalse evidence".

Love for your mother? :-

No painter's brush, nor poet's pen

In justice to her fame has ever reached half high enough towrite a mother's name.

The moment a child is born, the mother is also born. She never existed before.

The woman existed, but the mother, never. A mother is something absolutely new.

A man's work is from sun to sun, but a mother's work isnever done.

The formative period for building character for eternity isin the nursery.

The mother is queen of that realm and sways a scepter morepotent than that of kings or priests.

If the whole world were put into one scale, and my mother inthe other, the whole world would kick the beam.

Motherhood is priced Of Almighty Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala(GOD), at price no man may dare to lessen or misunderstand.

Mother, the ribbons of your love is woven around my heart.

“Love for your father”?

"Touchy" subject...

Some hate their dad,he lied, he stole money from his off spring, he is a cheat, etc. etc...

Why on earth did I alone get such a worst father: but i m sounlucky regarding this thing is. Love my mom and mom only etc...

It’s true it takes DNA to be a father but it takes a wholelot more to be a dad.

This is about love for your father in Islam.

The greatest gift I ever had

Came from Almighty Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD); I callhim Dad!

"My father didn't tell me how to live; he lived and letme watch him do it."

A father is like a lighthouse. Standing tall above sea.

When the storms of life come crashing in.

The light from your father you'll see.

A truly rich man is one whose children run into his armswhen his hands are empty.

A father’s sacrifice is just as big. It is the father who isthe bread winner in the family;

He provides money for food, clothing, shelter, education,health and other necessities for the family.

It is not flesh and blood but the heart which makes usfathers and sons.

It doesn't matter who my father was; it matters who Iremember he was.

"Somebody said that no one can love a child the way amother can. Somebody was never a father."

Every day, without wasting time, the father has to earn andprovide-----

Be it by using his mental faculties, or thru physical laborsuch as working under the scorching heat of the sun, or endangering his life bygoing out in the stormy seas.

He goes through all these with perseverance anddetermination, solely for the purpose of providing the needs of the family.

The father also harbors hopes for his children similar tothat of the mother, which means that his children succeed in becoming usefulindividuals.

This is unselfish love, unrestricted.

They want to give up everything you have to bring a smile onthat child’s face. (That child is you)

They go to work, and they where motivated in their work tobring home some food to their children, to give an income to them –

They will give up theirlife’s savings for their education. THAT is what you call love!

No human being feels that type of love for another, except aparent for the child.

And when you think about it, and when you experienceparenthood, you understand the POWER of Allah’s creation,

For verily, I swear by Allah, if the parents did not havethis love for this child, no child could live on the face of this earth.

What is it that your parents really wants to have, is thatagainst the Noble Qur'an and Authentic Sunnah?

IF not my friend thenthere is a Serious Problem and you need to correct IMMEDIATELY.

A child is given to you.

A child will be handed over to you, and you will be told,this is your baby, this is your child, you are responsible for it,

You have to take careof it.

This child will take up most of your time, most of yourenergy, most of your wealth,

Your living will become dependant upon this child, yourentire life will change because of this child.

The amount of sacrifice you must do cannot be measure inwords, cannot be measured in figures, and cannot be measured in quantities.

Those who have children and are growing up with them, theyknow what I’m talking about –

And yet you have not experienced everything, because yourchildren are still growing up with you.

Your parents have done that for you.

Your parents have done that for you, and you don’t evenrealize it,

Because when you become an adult, you “know it all,

” you’re the one who thinks they know better than theirparents; you’re the one who wants to leave the nest and become independent.

And you don’t realize that a mother’s love, a father’s love– once you leave that nest, it will never by the same.

Once that parent goesaway as well, you will never have that opportunity again.

You could help your parents by so many ways. But the onethat gives you the most sawaab impresses Almighty Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala(GOD)

And the best one is to be obedient and have respect forthem.

That’s why I talked about those two the most. I’m not sayingother stuff is bad and only does that stuff.

What I am saying is that other ones are good but those twoare the best ones.

Make dua for them in your prayers so you thank AlmightyAllah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) for your parents.

The Prophet (Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) said that whoeverpleases their parents pleases

Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala and whoever angers their parentsangers Allah subhanahu WA Ta’aala. So be good to your parents.

Oh Muslims, this is the beauty of the cycle of life – thatAllah ‘azza wa jel blesses all of us with parents.

And then He blessessome of us with children, and those children grow up, and some of us are stillalive.

Some of us have our parents alive when we grow up – that’swhy Almighty Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) says in the Qur’an:

“If one or both of them are alive, take care of them”[17:23], because some of us don’t have that luxury.

One of the companions, famous companions, and his motherpassed away, and he was crying… greatly.

So some of the other sahabas tried to console him, and theysaid: it’s alright, she is in Jannah InshaAllah, and she’s forgiven.

They tried to console him. And he said, “Do you think I’mcrying because she died?

Of course I’m sad because she died, that’s not why I’mcrying.”

Notice how the sahabas view things and how we view them.

He said: “I am crying because my door to Jannah has beenshut!

And I don’t know if I got in or not.” She was my door toJannah!

That’s why I’m crying. My door to Jannah has been shut.

I don’t know – was Ia good enough son?!

I don’t know – did Ido what I needed to do?! There’s no other way for me except through her.

And he quoted, or he paraphrased an authentic hadith of theProphet Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam when he said:

That the parent: is the LARGEST door to paradise; theparents are the middle door to paradise, the parent is the MAIN door toparadise.

So the Sahabas understood this. The death of a parent wasnot just a personal loss.

It was a religiousand spiritual loss as well: I don’t know whether I made it in or not…

One-day three people were stuck in a cave with a big stonein the way to get out.

They said let’s make dua and tell the best thing we did inour dua then Almighty Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) will get us out of thecave.

Two people said their best deed they had done and nothinghappened.

So the third person said the best deed he had done.

He said that the best thing I did was when I used to bringmilk for my parents and children everyday.

But one day hebrought only some milk. So he gave the milk to his parents and not to hischildren.

He then massaged his parent’s feet and took care of them.

Then he made dua.Almighty Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) heard that deed and moved the bigrock out of the way and the three people went out of the cave.

So if you help your parents like how this man did you couldget out of big troubles like this one and other big ones.

A man came to Ibn Abbas, and he said: I have done this and Ihave done that,

I have done this and I have done that.

He listed a whole long list of sins, and he had justrepented and come back to Islam.

He said, “What can Ido now?” Ibn Abbas said, “Are one of your parents alive?

” He said, “Yes, my mother is alive.” Ibn Abbas said: “Gostick to her – go at her feet” –

Go service here – go give everything you have to her –

“Because I know of no other deed that forgives the amountsof sins that serving your parents does.

” No deed can take that place of cleansing an entire life ofevil, cleansing an entire lifetime of disease, than being good to your parents.

Go to her, and give you entire body and soul to her – bringto her that happiness and joy, and that’s your only hope that I can see foryou.

And he’s basing this as well on many hadith of the ProphetSallallaahu alayhi wasallam.

A man came to the Prophet Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam, andhe said, “Ya Rasool Allah” – this hadith is in Bukhari –

“Ya Rasool Allah, I have come from Yemen” – the furthestcorners of Arabia, nothing further than Yemen –

“I have come fromYemen, in order to be with you!”

He has now become a Sahabi – he has elevated his rank inhistory by visiting the Prophet Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam!

“In order to be withyou, and do jihad behind you. And in order to do so, I had to leave my parentscrying at my loss and departure.”

He’s trying to boast, he’s trying to brag, he’s trying toshow his status: I want to do this, and I even left my parents crying, in orderto come here.

The Prophet Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam asked him: “Do youwant Jannah?

” Meaning: is that your goal? You want the pleasure ofAllah?

He said: “Yes.” The Prophet Sallallaahu alayhi wasallamsaid:

“In that case, goback to them now, GO BACK TO THEM and make them laugh, just like you left themcry.”

Meaning: you want Jannah and you have done this? You wantJannah and your own parents are not happy with you?

You will not be ableto earn Jannah in any other way!

Listen to me, this man left everything to come to theProphet of Allah salla Allahu alayhi wasallam,

He left everything to do jihad behind the ProphetSallallaahu alayhi wasallam,

And the Prophet Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam asked: do youwant Jannah?

Go back to your parents, and be with them! Make them laughlike you have made them cry!

Do you understand the rights of the parents?

Do you understand the Prophet of Allah is saying: do youreally want Jannah and you’re coming to me?

You’re coming to me to do jihad with me, and your ownparents need you?

He told that man to go back to his parents, and make themlaugh like he had made them cry.

Oh Muslims, the status of parents is something thattranscends even religion.

Generally speaking; generally speaking, if a man or a womanis abusive to Islam, cursing Almighty Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) and HisMessenger, we leave him alone

– We don’t associatewith him. There’s only one exception, and that exception is the parent. Thatexception is the parent.

Allah ‘azza WA jel says: even if your parents try to forceyou to idolatry,

They’re forcing you – they’re physically trying to shove youdown in front of an idol

– Emotionalblackmail, spiritual blackmail, whatever they’re doing – they’re doing jihadagainst you, to do shirk…

Almighty Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) says:

“Don’t listen to them.” You can’t contravene the firstprincipal which is la illah illa Allah, BUT:

- “In this world” – leave their affair to Allah, “in thisworld, you must be good to them” (31:15) -

“Ma’roof”: be kind and just to them.

EVEN parents who are idol worshippers, who are mushriks,trying to force you to leave Islam,

You still don’t havethe right to be rude to them.

If you can’t be rudeto someone like that, then brothers and sisters, let us look at our own lives.

When have we been rude to our mothers and fathers? When theyshow us love?

Chapter: 6, Verse: 151

Say: come i will recite what your lord has forbidden toyou-- (remember) that you do not associate anything with him and show kindnessto your parents, and do not slay your children for (fear of) poverty-- weprovide for you and for them--

and do not draw nigh to indecencies, those of them which areapparent and those which are concealed, and do not kill the soul which AlmightyAllah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) has forbidden except for the requirements ofjustice; this he has enjoined you with that you may understand

The love that your mother and father have for you is a loveyou will never understand until you become a parent and are at that age.

And the feeling that you have of being stifled with rulesand regulations – that feeling is a feeling that you will miss –

You will miss whenyou leave your parents’ nest. And you will be even stricter with your childrenwhen your time comes.

Abu Huraira (Radiyallaahu anhu) reported that he heard theMessenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, say, "Nohuman child has ever spoken in the cradle except for 'Isa ibn Maryam, may Allahbless him and grant him peace, and the companion of Juraj’s." Abu Huraira(Radiyallaahu anhu) asked, "Prophet of Allah, who was the companion ofJuraj’s?" The Prophet replied, "Juraj’s was a monk who lived in ahermitage. There was a cowherd who used to come to the foot of his hermitageand a woman from the village used to come to the cowherd.

"One day his mother came while he was praying andcalled out, 'Juraj’s!' He asked himself, 'My mother or my prayer?' He concludedthat he should prefer the prayer. She shouted to him a second time and he againasked himself, 'My mother or my prayer?' He thought that he should prefer theprayer. She shouted a third time and yet again he asked himself, 'My mother ormy prayer?' He again concluded that he should prefer the prayer. When he didnot answer her, she said, 'Juraj’s, May Allah not let you die until you havelooked at the faces of the beautiful women.' Then she left.

"Then the village woman was brought before the kingafter she had given birth to a child. He asked, 'Whose is it?' 'Juraj's,' shereplied. He asked, 'The man in the hermitage?' 'Yes,' she answered. He ordered,'Destroy his hermitage and bring him to me.' They hacked at his hermitage withaxes until it collapsed. They bound his hand to his neck with a rope and tookhim along to the king. When he passed by the beautiful women, he saw them andsmiled. They were looking at him along with the people.

"The king asked, 'Do you know what this woman claims?''What does she claim?' he asked. He replied, 'She claims that you are thefather of her child.' He asked her, 'Where is the child?' They replied, 'It isin her room.' He went to the child and said, 'Who is your father?' 'Thecowherd,' he replied. The king said, 'Shall we build your hermitage out ofgold?' 'No,' he replied. He asked, 'Of silver?' 'No,' he replied. The kingasked, 'What shall we build it with?' He said, 'Put it back the way you foundit.' Then the king asked, 'What made you smile.' 'Something I recognized,' hereplied, 'the supplication of my mother overtook me.' Then he told him aboutit."

Don’t fool yourselves.

You don’t understand the meaning of your parents’ love foryou.

Every rule andregulation they put upon you is because of their love for you – they want whatis best for you.

Every sing rule and regulation that they have upon you –every requirement, every desire – it is a desire for you, and not against you.

You won’t realize it now.

These are only goingto be words to you.

But when you have your own child, and you have raised thatchild in front of your eyes,

And the child becomes a young man or a young woman,

You will be even stricter upon that child than your parentswere with you.

Why Because of livingin this society.

You know what itmeans to be in this world.

You know the ins andouts. Therefore, you’re going to be even more protective than your parentswere.

Realize this, and pay heed to it. And understand that theyonly do this out of love for you.

And understand another part, which is ever more profound.

And many of you willnot fully comprehend it until the age comes.

And that is: no matter what you think of your parents, interms of their knowledge of this world,

In terms of their knowledge of your culture, or theirknowledge of civilization –

No matter how you look down at them because of whatever theyhave or haven’t done –

They have one thing that you don’t have. And that isexperience – wisdom – age.

Experience and wisdom is not taught in a book. You don’tlearn it by studying. It comes by living through life.

And you as a 17/18 year old kid – you don’t know whatexperience is; you don’t know what wisdom is.

Your mother and father have gone through life; they knowwhat it means to live.

Even if they speak with a different accent, even if they dothings that to you look backwards,

They are more knowledgeable than you of the mechanisms ofhuman life.

They understand emotions better than you.

They know what it means to live amongst humans, because theyhave done it, and you haven’t -

And a time will come – trust you me – a time will come whenyou will regret that you didn’t take their advice more.

Right now, for many of you who are young, you trivializetheir advice.

You think, my parents don’t know anything. As a 17/18 yearold, you know everything, and they, at 60, 80, they know nothing.

A time will come when you would wish that your parents werestill alive, so you can call them up and get their advice.

A time will come when you will realize: my parents didindeed know this best.

And this is something that, you should pray to Allah thatthat time comes when you are still alive.

Because it is possible – it is the Sunnah of Allah thatchildren grow up, and their parents die before them –

This is the Sunnah of Allah, the general rule.

We should do our best to make sure, that when our parentsdie,

Whenever that happens – and we ask Almighty Allah SubhanahuWA Ta’aala (GOD) to give all of us a long life, we should try and strive,

That when they leave this world, they leave this world pleasedwith us, content with us,

Happy with us, knowing that we have done everything we canfor them.

Because it is possible a parent will die…

And you haven’t done your job –

You haven’t done justice.

And when that happens, you can never return the clock.

You can never bring them back.

And you will live the rest of your life in regret andremorse, Now that this door of Jannah has been shut, and you don’t know whetheryou have entered it or not.

What can we do, to our parents?

What can we do for them?

What can we do to make them happy?

If your parents arealive, first and foremost thank Allah ‘azza wa jel for this opportunity.

Thank Him; rejoicethat there is still chance and hope!

THANK Almighty Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) thatAlmighty Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD)has blessed you to be an adult whileyour parents are still alive.

Do for them everything that is humanly possible.

If you read all day Salah, Qur’an or anything

And if somebody takes care of their parents the one who istaking care of their parents is getting more sawaab.

You can never be an Imam or Sheikh if you were bad to yourparents that are haram in Islam.

Our deeds shall be the pleasure of our parents and of AllahSubhanahu WA Ta’aala.

If you were good to your parents and when you grow up yourkids will be good to you.

If you were bad to your parents and when you grow up yourkids will be bad to you.

So if you were good to them it’s good for you too not onlyyour parents.

Financially: Many of us think that financially, our wives orchildren take precedent – no!

Islamic ally speaking, it is number one: the mother andfather; number two: the wife and kids.

We have to take care of ALL – it is our obligation as men,we have to take care of a lot of people,

But number one on that list is mother and father, –

And that is why, when a man came to the Prophet Sallallaahualayhi wasallam complaining,

“Oh ya Rasool Allah, my father takes this, my father takesthat,” complaining that his father would take some things of his possession.

After ALL that the father has done for this son, after ALLthe money and time and effort and sweat,

This man came andcomplained that he took bits and pieces – he took trinkets from his wealth? Andhe’s complaining,

“My father takes money without asking me?”

Do you know the response of the Rasool salla Allahu alayhiwasallam? “You and your wealth – all of it – belong to your father.”

You’re now gettingangry that he’s taken a hundred pounds? Or thousand pounds? After ALL that he’sdone?

ALL that you own belongs to your father – you and ALL ofyour possessions. “Anta wa Maal uka li abeek.

” Who are you now to come and complain that he takes alittle bit from you?

And from this, scholars of fiqh have derived many, manyrulings: that the father owns the property of the son, some of the fuqaha’said.

And others disagreed with this. The point being, from this,they took many rulings of fiqh.

If they’re alive, financially, number one – it is notpossible for you to eat a full meal, and your parents don’t have that.

Take care of them, in any way possible. Spiritually. Makedu’aa for them.

Do what you can to show your love to them. If they are stillwith you, (Alhamdullilah).

If they’re in another country, make sure they are taken careof.

Calling them up –simple phone call – does not underestimate the joy that you will bring yourmother by calling her up on the phone.

Do not underestimate that. The love and happiness she will feeltalking to her regularly.

Do not underestimatethe power of a conversation, and being in touch. Make sure that you do anything-

Every one of us comes from a culture and civilization –

There are things thatwe do in that culture, to show respect to them –

Do those things. It is a part of your religion (Islam) – itis a part of your duty to Allah, that you do this.

But if it so happens that they are no longer with you –

If you Allah ‘azza wa jel has willed that they have moved onto the next life – then still, there are things that can be done.

First and foremost: du’aa. Make Dua’s for them.

Du’aa that Allahforgives them, raises their ranks, blesses them.

Abu Huraira R.A. said, "The dead person can be raised adegree after his death. He said, 'My Lord how is this?'

He was told, 'your child can ask for forgiveness foryou.'"

The Prophet Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam told us, that of thebest thing we can do when somebody dies is to make du’aa for them –

When the parent dies, we make du’aa for them.

Allah commands us in the Qur’an: make du’aa for them.

One of the sahabas, when his father died, he said: for oneyear, I could not think of anything to make du’aa, except for my father.

ONE WHOLE YEAR, every time I raised my hand, all I could dowas make du’aa for him.

This is a part of being a good son. Make du’aa for them.

Another thing you can do: give charity on their behalf. Givemoney –

And you say, “Oh Allah, may the reward of this go to mymother and father.” Go for Hajj and Umrah.

“May the reward ofthis go to my mother and father?” Sacrifice an ‘udhiya.

“May the reward of this go to my mother and father?” You dowhat you can, financially,

And you expect the reward to go to your parents, and not toyourself.

Also, you can visit their relatives, and visit their friendsthat you used to visit when they were alive.

You visit theircircle of friends that you used to visit. And you do what you can, to bringabout their memory, in that sense.

Because when you go to their gatherings – your parent’srelatives, your parent’s friends – what will happen?

The topic of conversation will always be your mother andfather.

And when that brings about, you will remember them withgood, and you will pray for them.

So this, too, is part of being a dutiful son/Daughter.

Basically, brothers and sisters, do what you can before itis too late.

Do what you can, ALL that you can do, and there is no gooddeed after the worship of Allah that is more beloved than being good to theparent.

Taysala ibn Mayas said, "I was with the Najadites[Kharijites] when I committed wrong actions which I supposed were major wrongactions.

I mentioned that toIbn 'Umar (Radiyallaahu anhu). He inquired, 'What are they?" I replied,'Such-and-such.' He stated,

'These are not major wrong actions.

There are nine major wrong actions.

They are: associating others with Allah, killing someone,desertion from the army when it is advancing, slandering a chaste woman, Usury,consuming an orphan's property, heresy in the mosque, scoffing, and causingone's parents to weep through disobedience.

‘Ibn 'Umar R.A. then said to me, 'Do you wish to separateyourself from the Fire? Do you want to enter the Fire?'

‘By Allah! Yes!' I replied. He asked, 'Are your parentsstill alive?' I replied, 'My mother is.' He said,

'By Allah, if you speak gently to her and feed her, then youwill enter the Garden as long as you avoid the major wrong actions.'"

Ibn 'Abbas mentioned the words of the Almighty, "Whenone or both of them reach old age with you, do not say

'Ugh!' to them out of irritation and do not be harsh withthem but speak to them with gentleness and generosity.

Take them under your wing, out of mercy, with due humilityand say:

'Lord, show mercy tothem as they did in looking after me when I was small." (17:23-24) Hesaid,

"This wasabrogated in Surat at-Tawba: 'It is not right for the Prophet

and those who have iman to ask forgiveness for themushrikeen even if they are close relatives after it has become clear to themthat they are the Companions of the Blazing Fire.' (9:113)"

Prophet Sallallaahualayhi wasallam: When a man came to him, wanted to do well,

The Prophet Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam asked, “Is yourmother alive?” He said: “Yes.

” The Prophet Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam said: go to her,and stick to her feet (an Arabic expression, meaning: submit yourself to her),

Because at her feet is Jannah.” Jannah is around her feet.That’s what the Prophet Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam said. The ProphetSallallaahu alayhi wasallam:

Where, he was climbing up the minbar, and when he got up tothe last minbar [step?], he said, “Ameen.

” And, when he said Ameen, the Sahabi asked him,

“Why are you sayingAmeen?"

” He said: Jibraeel A.S. came to me and said,

“Make du’aa that any man who finds his parents alive at anold age,

And still does not manage to get his sins forgiven, makedu’aa that he is never forgiven.

” Meaning, there is no hope for the man who reaches old agewith his parents,

And yet does not gainthe forgiveness of Allah.

If you can’t be agood son/daughter, you cannot be a good Muslim. It’s that simple.

Muslims should adhere to their own religion and avoidfollowing non-Muslim traditions.

Mothers and fathers should be loved, respected, obeyed andappreciated every day, with no need to single out special days to honor them.

In the light of the Holy Quran and holy Prophet's sayings,

one can understand that the respect for parents occupies aspecial place in the moral and social teachings of Islam. -

Pray and do Dhikr in good times and tense times, and hold tightto the rope of Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’aala (GOD) at all times.
